Joe Kent Resigns from Trump Administration Over Iran War, Faces Immediate Smear Campaign

[00:35] not getting involved." So we can add

[00:37] them to our ever-growing list of

[00:39] countries who are telling Trump, "You

[00:42] started it. You can finish it." And you

[00:44] know what? He actually can't finish it.

[00:47] thing. So there was some huge breaking

[00:49] news this morning. Joe Kent, that is our

[00:52] director of national intelligence

[00:58] formally resigned from his position

[01:01] citing opposition to this illegal war.

[01:05] case you don't follow Joe Kent and maybe

[01:34] of 2019, uh Joe Kent is his wife,

[01:39] Shannon Kent, his late wife, lost her

[01:41] life to a suicide bomber. They They met

[01:43] uh serving and they got married and they

[01:46] had two kids. Shannon was the first

[01:49] female combat combat death in Syria uh

[01:51] since combat operations began against

[01:54] ISIS.

[01:55] And she was also the first female US

[01:57] service member that was killed by enemy

[01:58] fire in more than 3 years up until that

[02:01] point. And as you can see, she left

[02:03] behind uh her two children with Joe

[02:05] while just 3 years old at the time, the

[02:07] other was 18 months old at the time.

[02:10] Devastating story, right? And I share

[02:12] that with you because I want you to

[02:13] understand that Joe Kent is both

[02:14] professionally and personally qualified

[02:17] uh to give his opinion on the threat of

[02:19] overseas terror, whether or not it is

[02:22] worth American lives to send American

[02:24] lives over there. Uh

[02:26] and he addressed his letter, as he

[02:29] should, to the president. That is who he

[02:30] serves and this is what he wrote. He

[02:33] wrote, "President Trump, after much

[02:34] reflection, I have decided decided to

[02:36] resign from my position as the director

[02:38] of national counter-terrorism center

[02:41] effective today.

[02:42] I cannot in good conscience support the

[02:44] ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no

[02:47] imminent threat to our nation and it is

[02:49] clear that we started this war due to

[02:52] pressure from Israel and its powerful

[02:54] American lobby. I support the values and

[02:56] the foreign policies that you campaigned

[02:58] on in 2016, 2020, 2024, which you

[03:02] enacted in your first term until June of

[03:05] 2025. You understood that the wars in

[03:07] the Middle East were a trap that robbed

[03:09] America of the precious lives of our

[03:11] patriots and depleted the wealth and

[03:14] prosperity of our nation. In your first

[03:16] administration, you understood better

[03:17] than any modern president how to

[03:18] decisively apply military power without

[03:20] getting us drawn into never-ending wars.

[03:22] You demonstrated this by killing Qassem

[03:24] Soleimani and by defeating ISIS.

[03:26] Early in this administration,

[03:27] high-ranking Israeli officials and

[03:30] influential members of the American

[03:32] media deployed a misinformation campaign

[03:35] that wholly undermined your America

[03:37] First platform and sowed pro-war

[03:40] sentiments to encourage a war with Iran.

[03:42] This echo chamber was used to deceive

[03:45] you into believing that Iran posed an

[03:47] imminent threat to the United States and

[03:49] that should you strike now, there was a

[03:51] clear path to a swift victory.

[03:53] This was a lie and is the same tactic

[03:57] disastrous Iraq war that cost our nation

[04:35] honor to serve in your administration
