Tim Allen, inspired by Charlie Kirk's widow, forgives his father's killer after 60 years

[00:06] after hearing Erica Kirk's eulogy at her

[00:08] husband Charlie Kirk's funeral. He

[00:11] posted a statement on X that read, "When

[00:13] Erica Kirk spoke the words on the man

[00:15] who killed her husband, "That man, that

[00:18] young man, I forgive him." That moment

[00:21] deeply affected me. I have struggled for

[00:23] over 60 years to forgive the man who

[00:26] killed my dad. I will say those words

[00:28] now as I type. I forgive the man who

[00:31] killed my father. The home improvement

[00:33] star's dad died in a car accident in

[00:35] November 1964 after colliding with a

[00:38] drunk driver. Allan was 11 at the time.

[00:41] Meanwhile, Charlie, a right-wing

[00:43] political activist, was fatally shot in

[00:46] the neck earlier this month while

[00:48] speaking on stage at Utah Valley

[00:50] University. While addressing the 200,000

[00:52] people who attended her husband's

[00:54] memorial service, including President

[00:56] Trump, Erica proclaimed that she forgave

[00:58] the man who shot Charlie.

[01:11] She also noted in an interview with the

[01:13] New York Times that she would not be

[01:15] pushing for the death penalty for Tyler

[01:17] Robinson, the man charged with Charlie's

[01:22] TurningPoint USA, Charlie's nonprofit

[01:25] organization that advocates for

[01:26] conservative politics on high school and

[01:29] college campuses, named Erica as the new

[01:31] CEO and chair of the board, and she has

[01:33] vowed to continue Charlie's work and

[01:35] mission.
