Tyler Robinson Caught Laughing During Charlie Kirk Murder Trial as New Evidence Emerges
Jack Posobiec reports from inside the Utah courtroom where Tyler Robinson faces charges for Charlie Kirk's murder. Day two of the preliminary hearing revealed disturbing new details: security footage shows Robinson visited the UVU campus four times on the day of the killing, DNA evidence ties him to the crime scene, and witnesses report him laughing during proceedings while Charlie's family sat just feet away. The five-day hearing will determine if there's sufficient evidence to proceed to trial, though forensic analysts have already connected Robinson's DNA to the rifle, screwdriver, and other evidence found at the scene.
The second day of a five-day preliminary hearing in Utah brought forward chilling new evidence against Tyler Robinson, the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk. The hearing, which will determine whether sufficient evidence exists to proceed to trial, has revealed a disturbing pattern of behavior and overwhelming forensic evidence connecting Robinson to the crime scene at Utah Valley University (UVU).
Security camera footage played in court shows Robinson visited the UVU campus four separate times on the day of Kirk's murder, with his final visit extending into the early morning hours of the following day. This means Robinson returned to campus after the killing took place.
Evidence Connects Robinson to Crime Scene
Utah police agent David Hull, one of the lead investigators on the case, testified that Robinson made contact with Turning Point USA representatives during his first campus visit. Hull identified Robinson in security footage arriving at the parking garage, exiting on foot, and heading to the quad area where he interacted with TPUSA representatives.
Perhaps most damning, Hull testified that Robinson was the individual captured on video on the rooftop at the exact moment of the shooting. The footage shows an individual on the edge of the building at 12:23:28, the reported time of the shot, who then stands up and moves across the building to the north.
Forensic Evidence Mounts
An FBI DNA analyst testified about the forensic evidence connecting Robinson to the crime. Her testimony detailed how DNA evidence tied directly to Tyler Robinson and his roommate, Lance Twiggs, was found on key pieces of evidence including the rifle, a screwdriver, and a towel recovered from the scene. The analyst demonstrated how her findings were validated according to standard protocols.
Additional evidence presented included footage of Robinson visiting a Chick-fil-A before changing clothes and accessing the roof where the shooting occurred.
Courtroom Atmosphere Described as Emotional
Jack Posobiec, a Turning Point USA contributor who attended the hearing, described the courtroom scene as intensely emotional. Charlie Kirk's parents and widow Erika were present, sitting just feet away from Robinson's parents and the accused killer himself, who was surrounded by SWAT teams, security personnel, and sheriffs.
In a disturbing turn, multiple witnesses reported seeing Robinson laughing during the proceedings, showing no apparent remorse despite being in the presence of Kirk's grieving family. Posobiec noted that Robinson never turned to acknowledge anyone present or showed any sign of remorse throughout the hearing.
Graphic Evidence Affects Those Present
When video evidence of the actual shooting was presented, the presiding judge visibly flinched while watching. The graphic nature of the evidence proved too much for Kirk's family members at times, with some stepping out of the courtroom during particularly difficult testimony.
Posobiec praised the strength of Kirk's family, calling them "some of the strongest people that I've ever met in my life." He noted that their strength and character reflected the man Charlie Kirk was.
Robinson's Parents Present Throughout
Tyler Robinson's parents have been present throughout the proceedings, sitting quietly with stone-faced expressions. Posobiec described them as a loving couple supporting each other through the ordeal, noting that the situation takes a toll on both families involved.
The preliminary hearing continues, with three more days of testimony and evidence presentation scheduled before the judge will determine whether the case proceeds to trial.
