Angel Studios' Faith-Based Films and Charlie Kirk's Support
Showing 7 Angel Studios videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.
Angel Studios, the independent film company behind faith-based projects like The Chosen, appears here mainly through its relationship with Charlie Kirk and its box-office success with King of Kings, an animated retelling of the life of Christ. Co-founder Jeffrey Harmon described how the film, based on an obscure Charles Dickens manuscript unpublished for 65 years after his death, opened at number two nationally with $19.3 million, and earned a rare A+ CinemaScore along with a 97% Rotten Tomatoes audience rating, largely credited to voice performances from Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Uma Thurman. In a university debate appearance, Kirk publicly thanked Angel Studios for its support through what he called both the company's hardest and best years, a relationship a studio representative later reciprocated after Kirk's death, describing him as an important part of the connections that shaped their work. Elsewhere in the same debate, Kirk was pressed on how his belief in biblical creation squares with the scientific evidence for evolution, a separate exchange included here only because it shares the same source video as the Angel Studios material.
