Ballistic testing became a genre of its own among independent investigators seeking to challenge or confirm official details of Charlie Kirk's assassination using physical recreations rather than document analysis. One creator conducted a delayed test firing a .30-06 round into a ballistic dummy's neck specifically because, in his account, he felt it was too soon to perform the test using synthetic materials in the immediate aftermath of Kirk's death, opting instead for pork shoulders at the time. A separate test examined the rare .30-06 Accelerator round, a specialized cartridge that fires a smaller .22 caliber projectile at unusually high velocity, exploring whether its distinct behavior could account for the absence of a reported exit wound. Another investigator using the name Camron Vance tested multiple calibers against ballistic skulls and argued the resulting wound patterns didn't match the FBI's stated .30-06 finding, raising the possibility of a second shooter, while a separate creator specifically tested and rejected a theory that Kirk was shot from a concealed basement position at ground level. A different analysis, from a creator using the name Zach Costello, examined and disputed a competing body armor theory using photographic evidence and public denials from Erika Kirk. None of these independent ballistic reconstructions are confirmed findings, and they remain disputed against each other as well as against the official investigation.
