The Franklin Graham Letter and the Fight Over Christian Zionism

Showing 5 Franklin Graham videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.

Franklin Graham became a flashpoint in a broader rift among prominent evangelical and conservative voices over Israel, most visibly in an account Tucker Carlson gave of a letter Graham reportedly sent President Trump accusing Carlson of anti-Semitism. According to Carlson, Trump showed him the letter directly during a meeting, and Carlson's first move afterward was to call Graham himself, frustrated that Graham had not raised the accusation with him personally before escalating it to the president. Carlson used the episode to draw a sharper distinction he had been building in other conversations, arguing that some evangelical leaders had adopted what he called a culty, Netanyahu-first version of Christianity that displaced Jesus at the center of their actual theology, a framing Ted Cruz had pushed back on elsewhere by noting Carlson's own past remarks about Christian Zionists. Graham's name surfaces more sympathetically elsewhere, in tributes from pastors describing Charlie Kirk as a modern-day version of Graham's father Billy Graham, a comparison meant to capture Kirk's ability to reach a younger, culturally disaffected audience with a straightforwardly evangelical message rather than to comment on Franklin Graham's own political interventions.
