Grand Canyon University: From Kirk's Critic to Kirk's Praise

Grand Canyon University hosted a Turning Point USA voter registration drive that signed up 750 new voters for Trump, one of several campus events Charlie Kirk cites as evidence of the university's active conservative student presence. A GCU student separately tells Kirk that a left-leaning professor there failed her on a paper arguing the pro-life position on abortion while telling students that "Jesus wants us to judge," a complaint Kirk says fits a pattern he had criticized publicly a few months earlier, drawing significant backlash at the time for singling out the school. Despite that earlier criticism, Kirk later includes Grand Canyon on his own list of colleges he considers genuinely worth recommending to parents, alongside Hillsdale College, Liberty University, and the College of the Ozarks, stating the school has "really done great in the last couple of years" even though he is careful to note the list isn't exhaustive and tends to draw complaints regardless of which schools are included. Kirk frames this shift as consistent with his broader approach of publicly pressuring institutions while remaining open to acknowledging genuine improvement when it happens.
