Senator Rick Scott's Tribute to Charlie Kirk's Legacy
Showing 8 Rick Scott videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.
Senator Rick Scott used his relationship with Charlie Kirk, built through weekly conversations and an appearance on Kirk's show just two days before the assassination, to lead a Senate effort honoring his memory. Scott secured support from more than twenty colleagues for a resolution designating October 14th, 2025, Kirk's birthday, as a National Day of Remembrance, praising his work building Turning Point USA into a nationwide network of campus chapters and his consistent willingness to debate opponents respectfully. The Senate passed the measure unanimously, though Representative Jamie Raskin characterized similar House efforts as a political trap for Democrats reluctant to vote against a resolution honoring someone assassinated for his views. Away from that tribute, Scott also appeared on Kirk's show discussing the slow pace of Trump cabinet confirmations, arguing Senate Democrats were exploiting procedural rules to delay nominees far more than they had during Obama's first term, and tying that obstruction to a broader argument about federal spending reform and the push to eliminate the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
