Tim Allen's Decision to Forgive His Father's Killer After 60 Years

Actor Tim Allen announced that he had chosen to forgive the drunk driver who killed his father in 1964, after more than sixty years of trying and failing to do so. Allen credited the decision to Erika Kirk's eulogy at her husband Charlie Kirk's memorial service, where she told the young man who shot Charlie, 'That man, that young man, I forgive him,' in front of the roughly 200,000 people who attended. Allen, who was eleven years old when his father died in the crash, posted a statement on X saying that moment deeply affected him and that he was finally ready to say the words himself. Erika Kirk also told the New York Times she would not push for the death penalty against Tyler Robinson, the man charged with her husband's killing, and Turning Point USA named her the organization's new CEO and board chair in the aftermath.
