Andrew Kolvet breaks his silence on the controversy surrounding Joe Kent's resignation from the Trump administration, confirming he provided private text messages to Kent during the investigation into Charlie Kirk's murder. Kolvet explains why he shared the sensitive group chat screenshots, his decision to keep them private when Kent suggested making them public, and his dismay when they were leaked anyway, fueling conspiracy theories about Israel's alleged involvement in Kirk's death. With Kent's departure sparking intense debate about leaking and trust, Kolvet sets the record straight on what he knows and what remains unknown.
The Background on Joe Kent's Resignation
Andrew Kolvet wanted to address something that emerged over the weekend, a storyline that has been building for the past week following Joe Kent's resignation. The situation has consumed media attention, with President Trump being asked about it repeatedly. The central question that Kolvet wanted to tackle: was Joe Kent leaking certain information?
A clip from the weekend went viral, and Kolvet felt compelled to respond directly. In the clip, allegations were made that screenshots from a private group chat were passed from Kolvet to Joe Kent, and then from Kent to Candace Owens. The clip stated that Kolvet was in the chat group as one of nine people, and that he initially denied providing the screenshots but later admitted on his show that he gave them to someone in the government.
Confirming What He Can Confirm
Kolvet acknowledged that the word "verified" in the viral clip was doing a lot of heavy lifting. However, he wanted to confirm what he could actually confirm: yes, in the immediate aftermath of Charlie Kirk's murder, he did provide the group chat screenshots to Joe Kent.
Kolvet emphasized that they don't throw around accusations recklessly. Unlike many people online, they try to be responsible in keeping with Charlie's spirit and the way they choose to operate. In a spirit of looking at every lead and turning over every stone, they wanted everybody who needed to know to be aware of anything they knew.
The Context: Conspiracy Theories After Charlie's Murder
To understand the significance of these text messages, it's important to know what they were referring to. After Charlie Kirk's murder, text messages from a private group chat were made public and used to launch a major conspiracy theory—that Israel or Jewish people had Charlie murdered. This conspiracy theory spread widely on platforms like TikTok and became something Kolvet and others have had to address repeatedly.
Kolvet made it clear: they do not believe this conspiracy theory. However, they have been accused of not being interested in the truth or of trying to hide something. The actual fact, according to Kolvet, is that behind the scenes they have given everything they know, every single piece of information, to help find the truth. Providing the screenshots to Joe Kent was one example of this.
What Happened With the Screenshots
Kolvet explained that he was told he could trust Joe Kent, so he provided the screen grabs to him. What happened to them after that point, he genuinely doesn't know. He wanted to make that very clear.
Eventually, Joe Kent messaged Kolvet and suggested that he make those screen grabs public. Kolvet declined because the messages were shared privately, and he didn't want to be reckless with them in public. There could have been innocent people on that group chat who would then be harmed by public exposure.
Fast forward another week or two, and the screenshots were made public anyway. That's what Kolvet knows: Joe Kent suggested they be made public, Kolvet declined, and then they were made public regardless.
Can He Prove Joe Kent Leaked Them?
Kolvet was careful to state the limitations of what he knows. Can he 100% categorically say that Joe Kent leaked them? No. But those are the facts. Maybe somebody on Kent's team leaked them, maybe they got passed around to others, maybe somebody else entirely was responsible. But those are the facts of the matter, and that's what Kolvet knows.
The reason they're bringing this up now is because with Kent's departure from the administration, there's been a lot of debate over what it means. People have been arguing whether he was a leaker, and some have even suggested he might be a criminal who should be indicted. Kolvet made it clear they're not saying that, but the issue has come up and his name is being tossed around as if he did something untoward.
No Regrets About Seeking the Truth
Kolvet stated he doesn't regret providing the information to Joe Kent. He regrets that the screenshots were leaked to the public. He was told that he could trust Kent, that the information was private and would be guarded, solely to look into any possible leads. They did similar things with a bunch of different information because they want the truth to come out.
They're not blocking anything or hiding information. They don't even care if the answer turns out to be something really terrible. They want the truth and they want justice. Kolvet and his team believe that Tyler Robinson killed Charlie Kirk and that law enforcement got their guy. They have additional questions, but they're committed to finding answers.
However, whoever shared that screen grab publicly committed an egregious breach, and obviously they're not happy about it. But as Kolvet put it, you can't put the paste back in the tube. It's done.
Preserving Charlie's Privacy and Trust
Kolvet wanted to be very clear about the facts: Joe Kent was one of the people who had the screenshots. It was a very, very small group of people. Maybe one of Kent's team members leaked them, maybe it was someone else. But Kent did suggest that the screenshots be shared publicly, and Kolvet declined.
The reason for declining was simple: Charlie had every opportunity to say publicly what he believed. He did not say these things publicly. So it would be wrong for Kolvet to put words in his mouth. The group chat was something private, so they wanted to keep it private. Kolvet believes that's being in keeping with being a good friend—preserving somebody's trust in their privacy.
Setting the Record Straight
Now everybody knows the facts: yes, Joe Kent had the screenshots. Yes, he suggested leaking them. Kolvet can't prove that Kent was the one who ultimately leaked them, but those are the facts. With all the noise being made about allegations of leaking in the week following Kent's resignation, Kolvet felt it was necessary to address this directly.
Kolvet stated he has nothing else, no other information beyond this piece of the puzzle. He's not going to recklessly tarnish somebody's reputation if he doesn't have all the facts. But now that his name is being brought into the controversy, he wanted to address it head-on and set the record straight on exactly what he knows and what he doesn't know.

I want to address something that uh
emerged over the weekend and really it's
kind of been a storyline
I guess for the last week or so um after
the resignation of Joe Kent. So, uh we
had touched on it a couple times last
week. Uh obviously it's uh it's consumed
a lot of media. President Trump's being
asked about it and whatnot. Uh the
central claim though that I want to get
to is was Joe Kent leaking certain
information and over the weekend a clip
came up and it's gone a little bit
viral. I want to address it. Let's go
ahead and play it. Cut 16. The way that
those screenshots got to Candace is via
Joe Kent. Andrew Kulvet. Andrew was in
the chat group as well. He was one of
the nine people in the group and he
admitted at first be perfectly honest at
first he was denying it. We didn't know
how Candace got them but then he
admitted on the air on his show that he
had given these text messages and he
gave them to
he said that on the show that he gave
them to someone in the government. He
told us that that he gave them to
someone in the government. Joe Kent was
someone that we we knew that there was a
relationship there between Charlie and
Andrew and Joe. We knew that when
Charlie would visit Washington DC, he
would talk to Joe. We kind of verified
that the messages had been given by
Andrew to Joe Kent and that Joe Kent had
been the one to pass them on to Candace.
All right. So verified's doing a lot of
uh heavy lifting there. I do want to
confirm what I can confirm and that is
that yes, in the immediate aftermath, I
did provide the group chat to Joe Kent.
Um I we don't throw around accusations
recklessly here. We don't there's a lot
of people that do that online. We don't
do that. We think that's keeping in the
spirit of Charlie Spirit. Uh and the way
we choose to do things is we try and be
responsible. So yes, in a spirit of
looking at every lead, turning over
every stone, we wanted everybody that
needed to know to know anything that we
knew. Not just I mean, and by the way,
we've been accused of not being
interested in the truth. And just to
remind people what this is referring to,
this is after Charlie's murder, there
were text messages that from a private
group chat that were made public uh and
were used to frankly uh kick off the big
conspiracy theory that we've run into
over and over again, which is that
Israel or the Jews had Charlie murdered.
Yes. On Tik Tok, teens get over 50
built-in protections from the start. But
for parents, further visibility and
control of content can help create the
right environment. That's where family
pairing comes in. Teens under 18 have a
60-minute screen time reminder in place.
And with family pairing, parents can set
their own screen time limits or even set
restricted times based on what works
best for their family. Family pairing
lets parents link accounts to see their
teens followers and who they follow and
help restrict content that's not right
for them because peace of mind shouldn't
take guesswork. With easytouse tools
like family pairing, parents can help
shape the environment that makes the
most sense for their teen first. That
way, discovering creativity can follow.

So, which we do not believe which we do
not believe, but we have been accused of
trying to or we're not interested in the
truth. The the the actual fact of the
matter is that behind the scenes we have
given everything we know to give every
single piece of information. This was
one of them. I was told I could trust
Joe Kent. I provided the screen grabs to
Joe Kent and the I don't know what
happened to them at that point. Okay,
that I just want to make that very
clear. Eventually,
uh, Joe did message me and suggest that
I make those screen grabs public. I
declined because those were shared
privately. I didn't want to be reckless
with them in the public. There could be
innocent people on that group chat that
would then be harmed. So, I declined.
But then fast forward another week or
two and they were made public. So,
that's what I know is that Joe suggested
that they be made public. I declined.
Then they were made public. Can I 100%
categorically say that he leaked them?
No. But those are the facts. Maybe
somebody on his team, maybe they got
passed around, maybe somebody else
leaked them. But that's that those are
the facts of the matter. And that's what
I know. Yeah. And the reason we're
bringing this up, obviously with his
departure from the administration,
there's a lot of debate over what it
means. People have been arguing, was he
a leaker? People, some people have
suggested he might be a criminal. He
should be indicted. We're not saying
that, but this has come up and
>> well, and my name's getting tossed
around with this as if I did something
untored. No, I don't regret any of it. I
regret that they were leaked. I was told
that I could trust them. I told that it
was it was private and it would be
guarded just to look into any possible
leads. And by the way, we did that with
a bunch of different things because we
want the truth to come out. So, we're
not blocking anything. We're we don't
even care if the answer is something
that is really really terrible. Okay? We
want the truth. We want justice. And we
believe that Tyler Robinson killed
Charlie Kirk. We believe that they got
their guy. We have additional questions.
But guess what? That was it was an
egregious breach. Whoever shared that
screen grab publicly, it was an
egregious breach and obviously we're not
happy about it. But can't put it back
together again. can't put the the pace
back in the tube as they say. And so
again, I just want to be very clear. I
don't know who ultimately shared that
publicly, but the facts are Joe Kent was
one of the people that had it. Very,
very, very small group of people. Maybe
one of his team members, whatever. But
he did suggest that it was shared
publicly. We declined because Charlie
had every opportunity to say publicly
what he believed. He did not say that
publicly. And so far be it for me to put
words in his mouth. Okay, that was
something that was private. So, we
wanted to keep it private and I think
that's being in keeping with being a
good friend. Okay, is preserving
somebody's trust um in their privacy.
So, now everybody knows, yes, Joe Kent
had it. Yes, he did suggest leaking it.
Can't prove that he was the one, but
those are the facts cuz there's been a
lot of noise made about this in the past
whether you know in the in the recent
week about allegations of leaking and
things like that. I I got nothing. I
don't know anything other than that
piece of the of the puzzle. Okay, that's
all I know. And I'm not going to
recklessly tarnish somebody's reputation
if I don't have all the facts. But now
that my name's being brought up into it,
I wanted to address
