Charlie Kirk on Democrats Singing Union Protest Songs Against Elon Musk and DOGE

Charlie Kirk dissects a recent gathering of government workers who organized a singing protest against Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The performance featured union members performing old labor songs with updated lyrics targeting Musk and Trump. Kirk argues this symbolizes how dramatically the Democrat Party has changed, contrasting their current approach with their cultural appeal during the Obama era. He examines media warnings about constitutional crises and reflects on how being liberal has lost its cultural cache, turning Democrats into what he describes as shrill enforcers rather than the cool political movement they once represented.

Government Workers Protest DOGE with Union Songs

Charlie Kirk opens by highlighting what he calls the Democrats' new theme song - a protest performance by government workers opposing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The performance features women singing updated versions of old union and labor songs, with lyrics targeting Elon Musk and President Trump.

Kirk plays audio clips of the performance, which includes lyrics like "Which side are you on?" and "We'll fight against DOGE, we'll fight the lands within our walls, we'll fight from dawn to dusk." Another verse declares, "He's coming for our unions, he wants us all to fail, he wants us to bow to him, but we want him in jail."

The performance appears to be organized by a union, likely SEIU based on the imagery Kirk observes. He emphasizes that this is not a parody but an actual gathering of government workers organizing against DOGE.

Who Opposes Government Efficiency?

Kirk poses a rhetorical question about who would oppose the Department of Government Efficiency. His answer: these protesters. He sarcastically questions what these government workers do all day, suggesting they spend their time screaming into microphones against Elon Musk.

The performance concludes with lyrics warning, "Don't take that government job, don't listen to Trump's lies, us workers haven't got a chance unless we organize." Kirk mockingly compares the singer to Whitney Houston, emphasizing his perception of the performance as off-key and desperate.

The Democrat Party Is Flailing

Kirk declares that the Democrat Party is currently flailing, arguing that everything about them is "off-key" - from their singing to their messaging to their core essence. He transitions to discussing what he sees as their overblown rhetoric about democracy being under threat.

He plays a montage of media clips featuring various commentators warning about constitutional crises, including Dylan Mulvaney. The clips include phrases like "we are three weeks into the second Trump presidency and tonight there are warnings that the US is dangerously close to a constitutional crisis" and "what we are witnessing is a constitutional crisis."

The montage builds to warnings about "constitutional collapse," which Kirk finds absurd and laughable.

Democrats Have Lost Their Cultural Appeal

Kirk draws a stark contrast between the current state of the Democrat Party and their cultural position during the Obama era in 2008. Back then, he notes, all the cool kids were Democrats, Obama supporters, and eventually Bernie supporters. The left was where young people naturally gravitated culturally.

Now, Kirk argues, being a liberal has become "insanely uncool." He describes modern Democrats as "shrill hall monitors screaming at other people about democracy." He compares their apocalyptic rhetoric about constitutional crises to their previous warnings about climate change killing everyone and COVID vaccine mandates.

Kirk concludes that Democrats have "spent down their cultural bank account" and their "cultural cache has been totally squandered." When asked whose side he's on regarding the protest performance, Kirk simply states he's on the side of "not that" - whatever their politics are, he's on the opposite side.
