Charlie Kirk is the Founder and President of Turning Point USA, the largest and fastest growing conservative youth activist organization in the country with over 250,000 student members, over 150 full-time staff, and a presence on over 2,000 high school and college campuses nationwide. Charlie is also the Chairman of Students for Trump, which aims to activate one million new college voters on campuses in battleground states in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election. His social media reaches over 100 million people per month and according to Axios, he is one of the "top 10 most engaged" Twitter handles in the world. He is also the host of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” which regularly ranks among the top news shows on Apple podcast charts.

Charlie Kirk Rallies Young Conservatives at Historic Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa

Charlie Kirk addresses the largest Student Action Summit in Turning Point USA history, celebrating a massive generational shift that saw younger voters move 22 points to the right in the 2024 election. Speaking to over 7,000 students in Tampa, Florida, Kirk outlines the economic anxieties driving young Americans, from unaffordable housing to student debt, and warns that without delivering on promises of mass deportations, economic reform, and putting American interests first, the conservative movement risks losing this generation. He challenges attendees to transform their enthusiasm into grassroots action, from starting campus chapters to primarying establishment Republicans, while emphasizing that younger voters delivered the White House to Donald Trump and now expect results.

The Largest Student Action Summit in History

Charlie Kirk opened the Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida, by acknowledging the historic turnout—nearly double the size of previous gatherings. He emphasized why students receive the best seats at these events: they are on the front lines of cultural battles, facing smears, cancellations, and expulsions from classes, fraternities, and sororities for their conservative beliefs. These students worked to register voters during the election and represent the vanguard for saving the country.

Reflecting on the 13-year journey since founding Turning Point USA, Kirk expressed amazement at what the movement has accomplished. When he started building the organization chapter by chapter, student by student, he never imagined that a Republican presidential candidate would win the youth vote in major states. Through billions of views and countless "Prove Me Wrong" debates with liberals on college campuses, the movement built momentum that culminated in a historic November election.

The Generational Realignment That Shocked America

Kirk revealed stunning statistics from the 2024 election: while baby boomers moved three points more Democrat, younger voters shifted 22 points to the right. The youth vote delivered the White House to Donald Trump, representing the greatest generational realignment since Woodstock. What was once unthinkable—a conservative movement dominating among young people—became reality.

Kirk described witnessing this shift firsthand during his campus debates. What started as events with a couple hundred students grew to thousands, with red MAGA hats visible as far as the eye could see. The red hat transformed from a symbol people were afraid to wear in 2016 to a symbol of hope, optimism, patriotism, and taking back the country by 2024.

For younger voters, President Trump represented a lifeline—a way to get their leaders' attention that things were not all right for their generation. Kirk explained that he has spent over 200 hours conducting campus debates in a single year, visiting more than 65 campuses, and a consistent theme emerges regardless of political affiliation.

The Economic Anxiety Driving Young Americans

Kirk detailed the pervasive anxiety he encounters among young people across the political spectrum. Students tell him they cannot afford homes or basic necessities. They navigate a minefield of political correctness where asking someone on a date with one wrong word could result in sexual harassment accusations, or using incorrect pronouns for a trans activist in class could end their career. Their towns and cities are flooded with illegal aliens, and they wonder when leaders will start fighting for them.

The next generation questions why America spends hundreds of billions of dollars on wars abroad while they go endlessly into debt to pay medical bills and suffer under credit card debt. They ask why they must compete to buy a home against Chinese oligarchs. Kirk declared that no foreign national should be allowed to own single-family homes until this generation can afford the same homes their parents had.

This accumulated angst culminated in electing Donald Trump. But Kirk warned that inheriting a disordered economy from Joe Biden means Republicans must deliver on economic promises. If the administration fails to make young people owners of the economy rather than just renters, the country will see more politicians like Zohran Mamdani emerge.

Understanding the Rise of Radical Politics

Kirk acknowledged that while Mamdani—whom he called a bigot, anti-civilization, anti-American, and anti-Western who wants government-run grocery stores and defunded police—deserves condemnation, Republicans must understand why he is rising in popularity. Younger voters are trying to get their leaders' attention about unaffordable housing, lack of equity, and being trapped in a rental economy.

If the economic disorder facing this generation—from debts and deficits to student loan debt and cost of living—is not solved, Mamdani will be just the beginning of what communities see across the country. The solution, according to Kirk, is what President Trump is trying to do every day, but it needs to be doubled and tripled.

Mass Deportations and Putting Americans First

Kirk outlined his vision for addressing these concerns, starting with ensuring American college graduates do not have to compete against foreigners for jobs. He called for the largest deportation effort the country has ever seen, insisting that anyone in the country illegally must be deported—no amnesty, no exceptions, no carveouts, no loopholes, no asterisks.

Kirk led the audience in repeating: "No amnesty." He emphasized that voters chose mass deportations, not mass amnesty, and expect leaders to deliver and bring the country back to a place where citizenship matters and Americans are put first.

Economics for the Next Generation

Kirk argued it is past time for elected leaders to understand they must put the economics of the next generation into their calculus. While Mamdani addresses this issue, he does so poorly by offering free stuff to bitter people who dislike the country. Kirk acknowledged that tax cuts for the wealthy are fine, but warned that without people owning assets, American politics will become far more radical.

He called for celebrating, embracing, platforming, and when necessary, subsidizing marriage and childbearing. America is not having enough children, which Kirk identified as a national crisis far more serious than claims about racism or climate change. He and his wife are doing their part with two young children, and they will see what else the Lord has in store.

Kirk shared conversations from the summit where young patriots expressed wanting to get married and have children but struggling to find others who share their values. He encouraged attendees that the summit provides opportunities to meet future spouses. But beyond that, society must prioritize marriage and family, telling young women that while becoming the CEO of a shoe company is fine, what really matters 30 years from now is having the love of their life and raising children—not trips to Thailand or nights at the club.

The Most Conservative Generation in 50 Years

Kirk celebrated this as the most conservative generation seen in over 50 years, with numbers proving it represents the greatest generational realignment since Woodstock. Never before has a generation moved so quickly and dramatically in a conservative direction, confusing liberals who expected them to be the most liberal generation.

The reason for this shift, Kirk explained, is that young people were lied to repeatedly: wear the mask, take the vaccine, no prom, no graduation, school closures, America is a racist country. They experienced the worst of the American left, and their politics now represents a rejection of all that. No more political correctness.

Remarkably, church attendance—which declined steadily for 20 years—has increased slightly because this is the most religious generation seen in 40 years. Kirk emphasized the significance of this development, arguing that at its core, the battle is spiritual. Secularism throughout the West represents a spiritual sickness that produces the worst ideas: men can give birth, no borders, America is terrible. These concepts are almost all outgrowths of secularism.

This generation wants something deeper and more meaningful. For those who do not believe in God, Kirk offered prayers and hope they find Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, which he promised would change their lives. But he argued even secular people should cheer for religious revival because it produces better societal outcomes.

The Need for a National Apology

Kirk demanded to know where the national apology is to this generation for what happened during COVID—for shutting down schools and taking away graduations. The lack of apology demonstrates that the country is at a turning point, a time for choosing. Leaders in Washington DC better start getting the memo because a movement is coming.

While this is the most conservative generation, that does not mean they will support every Republican. If Republicans support more foreign aid to endless countries, Generation Z does not want that—they want Americans put first, not foreigners. If Republicans simply say they will let the market do its job while things remain out of reach, young people will support what President Trump is doing with tariffs and wanting things made in America again.

A New Ascendent Movement

Kirk described an ascendent movement that is exciting, new, fresh, and authentic. Looking at the last 50 years of problems—from debts and deficits to hyperinflation to mass migration—this generation increasingly does not believe immigration automatically makes the country better. Legal immigration produces politicians like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, not just illegal immigration.

When people enter the country legally but do not share American values, they do not always assimilate. Zohran Mamdani and his entire family came legally, not across the southern border, yet no one can claim he improves the United States. Kirk suggested it may be time to reconsider nearly all political orthodoxies: Do immigrants really make the country better? Some do—assimilated Cuban immigrants, for example. But if someone comes from Somalia and refuses to learn the language, adopt customs, and assimilate, then America should be closed to the third world until further notice. America is not a dumping ground for the rest of the planet.

The Democrats Will Figure It Out

Kirk noted that the Democrat party is trying to figure itself out without knowing its leader, but they will eventually regroup as a major political party desperate to get back into action. This creates the greatest opportunity that some in the Republican party are unfortunately mishandling.

President Trump understands this better than anybody else. Winning the youth vote as a Republican represents an incredible death blow to the left. If Republicans hold onto that demographic and generation, it is over for the left. Leaders should be thinking every single day about how to hold onto this and grow it. Instead, Kirk does not always feel that energy from Washington DC, where politicians sometimes take younger voters for granted.

Making Voices Heard in Washington

Over the coming days, Kirk urged attendees to make their voices heard and send a message to Washington DC and the bipartisan cartel that they want their own interests represented. If the generational theft continues—the plundering of the next generation—there will be a radicalization event from the left that will be breathtaking.

The advantage, however, is that conservatives are the ascendent political force. They did the impossible: turned campuses into MAGA territory, moved the youth vote by 20 to 30 points, and transformed the country from super woke to super patriotic in a short period. But now individual action matters.

Kirk called on those not yet involved in a Turning Point USA chapter to start one—whether high school or college. He directed people to the Turning Point USA booth to get involved on their campus. For non-students, he emphasized that politics is now a 24/7 endeavor: get involved in school boards, city councils, and support local Turning Point USA chapters. Hold senators accountable.

Primarying Establishment Republicans

Kirk specifically called out certain Republican senators. He encouraged South Carolinians to primary Lindsey Graham and ensure he is no longer a sitting senator. For Kentucky, he endorsed Nate Morris as someone who would be great to replace Mitch McConnell, emphasizing the need to end the McConnell era and prevent it from continuing.

The movement is grassroots at its core, and the next couple days would feature speakers including Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump Jr., Megyn Kelly, Pete Hegseth, and Kristi Noem. It is time to chart a vision.

Remembering July 13th

Kirk reminded the audience that President Donald Trump took the entire country on his shoulders and was millimeters away from having his brains blown out. The coming weekend marks July 13th, when President Trump came close to losing his life. What a tragedy it would be if God saved the country through divine intervention, only for Americans to cast it aside.

With ascendent, exciting, charismatic, bottom-up energy from young people across America, the mandate is clear: business as usual in Washington DC will no longer work. It is time to get involved in primaries, make voices heard, take over the Republican party in a conservative image, support good leaders and remove bad ones.

The Courage of Conservative Students

Kirk emphasized to non-students in the audience what students are doing—one of the hardest things in America. They choose to be less popular on campus, speak out despite high social costs, and risk jeopardizing their jobs, careers, or reputations by putting their country over themselves. This deserves recognition and gratitude because it represents the best of the country.

Execute on the Mandate

Kirk closed by noting the gift the movement has been given: popular vote majority, electoral vote majority. Now comes execution. Mass deportations must happen. The border wall must be secured. All promises regarding transparency must be fulfilled. Young people must be able to afford homes. Failure puts the coalition in jeopardy.

Kirk expressed faith in President Trump but not in the Republican Congress. Over the coming days in Tampa, Florida, all 7,000 attendees would be the center of the political universe on the planet. Everyone is watching Tampa to see what happens. What occurs at the summit will chart a new future course. Marriages will happen, lifetime friendships will form, and careers will start.

Kirk's challenge to attendees was to hold themselves to a higher standard and make this an action event—not like attending a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game where people just applaud. With every speaker, attendees should ask themselves: What are you going to do about it? Apply the applause into action.

The movement has been given a gift. The next generation helped put Donald Trump into the White House. What comes next will determine whether America remains a civilization or becomes just a collection of colonies and strangers in their own nation.
