Harris Faulkner Exposes Tim Walz Clemency Decision for Illegal Immigrant Convicted of Sexually Assaulting a Child

Harris Faulkner examines a controversial clemency decision by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the state's Board of Pardons. The board granted clemency to an illegal immigrant convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl. The Department of Homeland Security condemned the decision, stating it effectively removes the convictions that made him deportable. The segment also features testimony from Jessica Gorman, whose 18-year-old daughter Sheridan was killed in Chicago by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, as she demands accountability for sanctuary policies that prioritize illegal immigrants over American citizens.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz Under Fire for Clemency Decision

Harris Faulkner opened her show by addressing breaking news from sanctuary state Minnesota. The Trump administration has accused Governor Tim Walz of helping protect an illegal immigrant convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old child — the little sister of his wife. According to the Department of Homeland Security, this man lost his legal status following his conviction and faced a final order of deportation.

The Minnesota Board of Pardons, which includes Governor Walz, the state attorney general, and a judge, granted him clemency. DHS stated that this pardon effectively wipes away the convictions that made him deportable, calling the decision "disgusting." Critics have expressed outrage, with one stating that Democrat leaders will pardon foreigners who abuse little girls just to keep them in the country voting Democrat.

Minnesota Republican and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer wrote: "I'm angry and disgusted at another action by our feckless governor that puts illegal aliens against Americans." Another critic questioned what rights native-born Minnesotans really have, asking if children have a right to be safe in schools or on the streets, or if the governor has an entirely different view of what citizenship means.

Details of the Conviction and Clemency

Reporter Brooke Taylor provided more details on the story. In 2006, a Laotian national was convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota. Court records contain details too graphic to air. The abuse spanned two years, from when the victim was 10 until she was 12 years old. The perpetrator was 18 when the assaults started. He met the young girl through her older sister, whom he later married.

According to court documents, he admitted to having sex with the child, telling investigators: "I made a mistake but this is a minor thing. It is a cultural thing in Thailand to marry and have sex with girls as young as 12." He reportedly offered the victim ten dollars to keep her quiet. DHS says he lost his legal status after the conviction and was under a final order of deportation.

Surprisingly, the victim sent a letter to the Minnesota Board of Pardons supporting his request for a pardon. The board, made up of Governor Tim Walz, the state attorney general, and a judge, granted clemency. DHS blasted the decision, stating: "Governor Walz's decision to pardon an illegal alien convicted child rapist so he can remain in the country is disgusting. It will take away the qualifying convictions that made him removable from the United States."

Florida's attorney general also reacted, saying: "In Florida you will face the death penalty for raping a child. In Minnesota you will be rewarded with a pardon." Fox reached out to all three board members, including Governor Walz, to ask why they decided to pardon this convicted child sex offender but had not received a response at the time of reporting.

Political Analyst Weighs In on Sanctuary Policies

Political analyst Gianno Caldwell joined Harris Faulkner to discuss the case. He stated that this action by the governor and other individuals involved is "a direct smack in the face to every little girl throughout the state of Minnesota." He emphasized that the fact they were willing to do this in this particular era says a lot about where progressives and Democratic socialists are going in America.

Caldwell noted this is not just a Minnesota issue — similar officials are springing up across the country, Democrats who are virtue signaling by saying they won't work with ICE to have these individuals deported. He cited statistics showing that as of July 2024, there were almost 16,000 people on ICE detainers — wanted by ICE but not yet in ICE custody. These people are walking through cities, towns, and states across the country.

Harris Faulkner pointed out that the man is disqualified from being here legally, so if he votes in that state, that's also a crime. She questioned what should be done with the attorney general and governor who would allow that to happen.

Jessica Gorman's Powerful Testimony

The show then focused on more illegal immigrant crime, specifically a heated House hearing where Jessica Gorman made a powerful statement calling out sanctuary policies. Her 18-year-old daughter Sheridan was shot and killed in March while walking with her college friends along a lake in Chicago. The suspect is an illegal alien from Venezuela.

In her testimony, Gorman said: "This cannot be explained away and cannot be buried beneath a list of unrelated issues that you paraded before us. Thanks for telling me without telling me that you are here but you don't want to be. This is the fourth time you had angel families. Thanks for telling me you don't care. This cannot be buried under your slogans, statistics or excuses and this just can't stand."

She continued: "Explain why people here illegally matter more than your American citizens? Explain why sanctuary policies matter more than my Sheridan's life? Explain why cooperation with ICE was too much to ask for? But asking our American parents to bury our children is somehow acceptable. What if she was yours? Would you hesitate for one second to make changes? My Sheridan spent her whole life choosing others, today I'm asking this committee and our Congress and our country to choose her."

Harris noted that after Gorman's testimony, Democrats in the room showed their response — or lack thereof. Both of Sheridan's parents appeared on Fox the next morning.

Parents Speak Out About Disrespect at Hearing

Sheridan's father said: "Just disrespectful. We were there telling Sheridan's story. My wife poured her heart out and just to hear that, it just shows you that they don't want this to change."

Her mother added: "I have to say one of the Democratic representatives there was napping while they were giving the opening remarks. I literally was just here to give — tell the story of Sheridan and her extraordinary love and life. They were napping."

Call for Change in Immigration Policy

Gianno Caldwell responded by asking how anyone's heart couldn't break watching Gorman in that committee hearing and seeing her on Fox & Friends. He emphasized that her testimony puts a face to what many American families have experienced, specifically angel families.

He noted that in the state of Illinois, there are over 550,000 illegal immigrants. The state has spent billions of dollars as a welcome mat to these individuals, many of whom have committed crimes. He stated that Gorman's testimony puts a face to the families experiencing these tragedies and to the Democrats who don't care.

Caldwell argued: "They don't give a damn about the citizens in their country and their states and localities. They care about virtue signaling and trying to win elections. These are folks who should not be in office. We need to focus on saving the lives of these young people who keep experiencing danger from these illegal immigrants in our country."

He praised ICE for doing an incredible job arresting, detaining, and deporting these people, but emphasized that local elected officials need to work with ICE and DHS to save lives. He concluded by saying these officials continue to show that they could give a damn about these young people and these Americans losing their lives at the hands of illegal immigrants.

Harris Faulkner observed that it seems like illegal immigrants often target young girls and young women, noting that we can only say that statistically but we know their names. She expressed hope that this issue might become a focus again because Democrats don't know how to have policy discussions around it.
