Tucker Carlson Exposes FBI Collusion with Twitter to Censor Hunter Biden Story Before 2020 Election

Tucker Carlson examines the Twitter Files revelations showing how the FBI worked secretly with social media companies to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story before the 2020 election. The documents reveal weekly meetings between FBI officials and Twitter executives, with government agencies flagging content for censorship through organizations like CISA. Carlson argues this represents an illegal violation of the First Amendment and campaign finance laws, describing it as government censorship on behalf of political candidates rather than the free and fair elections Americans expect.

The Twitter Files Reveal Coordinated Censorship

Tucker Carlson opens by addressing the previously undisclosed documents on Twitter's service that were released, noting that while people already knew social media companies censor conservatives, the real revelation was far more serious. The documents showed that Big Tech worked aggressively and in secret with government agencies to subvert election outcomes while the rest of the country assumed they were participating in free and fair elections.

According to Carlson, the FBI was committing censorship on behalf of one candidate while hurting another. He describes this as hard to imagine a more brazen attack on democracy, emphasizing that this is not how the system is supposed to work and is in fact illegal. Twitter violated the First Amendment and established campaign finance law by never declaring their contributions to the Biden campaign, which Carlson states is a crime.

Thanks to reporting by Matt Taibbi, the public now knows how this happened. Carlson emphasizes this is not a conspiracy theory but an established fact. However, in the days since Taibbi's reporting, mainstream media outlets have either dismissed the story as entirely normal or attacked Taibbi personally for daring to write it.

Media Dismisses Bombshell Revelations

Carlson plays clips showing how various media figures responded to the Twitter Files. One commentator called the whole thing "ridiculous" and "not true." Another claimed it was "basically meaningless what happened and turned out to be a good thing." Others accused Elon Musk of being fixated on a "two-year-old story" and revealed "profound ignorance of the First Amendment."

One particularly notable clip featured a commentator explaining that the Twitter Files were helpful because they showed "how content moderation works" and "how when a group of people with differing political ideas and ideologies and views gets together in the spirit of making a platform safe and healthy."

Carlson expresses disbelief at these responses, noting Al Sharpton teaming up with a former George W. Bush aide to tell viewers that censorship is good. He takes issue with media figures calling censorship "content moderation" and describing the hiding of facts that voters need to cast informed votes in presidential elections as "safe and healthy."

FBI's Weekly Meetings with Tech Companies

Miranda Devine of the New York Post reported that the FBI met weekly with Twitter executives before the 2020 election. The FBI warned about hack and leak operations by state actors that would involve Hunter Biden and would likely come out in October. This information came from sworn depositions from Twitter's former chief censor.

The same pattern occurred with Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg confirmed in an interview that the FBI came to Facebook team members and said they should be on high alert, claiming there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election and warning that there was about to be some kind of dump similar to that, telling them to be vigilant. As a direct result of these meetings, Facebook also censored the Hunter Biden stories.

Carlson calls this a "stop the press" story, arguing that the FBI is the largest and most powerful domestic law enforcement agency in the world and cannot become a secret police force. If it does, he argues, it's no better than Russia under Putin and represents an authoritarian state by definition when the largest domestic law enforcement agency starts playing in domestic politics.

Yoel Roth and the Censorship Regime

The Twitter executive overseeing much of this censorship was Yoel Roth. Carlson notes that Roth had no technical expertise of any kind and didn't know about hacking, foreign affairs, or Russia. He received a PhD focusing on Grindr from the University of Pennsylvania, with the app appearing 300 times in his research.

Carlson questions how this qualified Roth for a position where he was in charge of what Americans were allowed to say and think. The one qualification Roth clearly had, according to Carlson, is that he does not believe in free speech, which he made clear in an interview where he discussed how misgendering is prohibited on Twitter and represents a "life-threatening" situation.

Carlson points out the irony that Roth himself once attacked trans people on Twitter, writing: "It wouldn't be a trip to New York without one big scary tranny." This is the kind of tweet that would get others reported to the FBI under Roth's own standards.

CISA: The Federal Government's Censorship Arm

Carlson reveals that Yoel Roth was rewarded for effectively allowing Joe Biden to get elected president by censoring criticism of his business deals with China. Roth was given an advisory role on CISA, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Administration, which Carlson describes as the censorship arm of the federal government.

He questions how this organization can exist when the First Amendment specifically prohibits government censorship, asking why there is no court case on this and why people are standing by and putting up with it.

New documents reveal how aggressive CISA's censorship practices are. They operate a hotline that allows the government to pressure Big Tech companies to censor political opposition. One example shows a CISA official writing: "I wanted to flag two tweets about possible misinformation about the election."

Carlson explains that misinformation is a new word in common conversation, though it's been around in the intelligence world for a long time. The key aspect of misinformation is that it can be true - it doesn't have to be untrue to be censored.

State Officials Weaponizing Federal Censorship

One of the flagged tweets claimed the 2020 gubernatorial race in North Carolina was rigged, with late-arriving ballots being ignored and awarded to Democrats. Whether one agrees or disagrees with the tweet, it represents someone's opinion - the kind seen all the time on Twitter in what was supposed to be a free country.

What happened next shocked Carlson. Within minutes of CISA flagging the tweets, they sent the report to several DHS accounts and then to Twitter. The tweets were censored. A random person with a small Twitter following had their views shut down because federal agencies with armed agents didn't like their views on a state election.

Kentucky's Secretary of State did this all the time, as did Colorado's. Colorado reported several political parody accounts to DHS, which then alerted Twitter, and all were pulled off the platform. They were clearly labeled as parodies and were in fact jokes, but Twitter took the DHS complaints seriously and censored the accounts anyway.

Katie Hobbs and Arizona Election Censorship

At the beginning of the 2021 election cycle, staffers for Arizona's Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs directed censorship efforts. Hobbs' office wrote to the Center for Internet Security: "I'm flagging this account for your review." CISA was later CC'd on the email.

The tweets were described as an attempt to undermine confidence in election institutions in Arizona. Carlson asks if people are not allowed to have concerns about confidence in elections, particularly in a state where the biggest county took more than a week to count ballots and where printers didn't work on election day despite working before.

The message from Hobbs' office ended with "Thank you for your consideration in reviewing this matter for action." Twitter then responded "We'll escalate" and censored the accounts.

This Is Illegal, Not Just Offensive

Carlson emphasizes repeatedly that this isn't just offensive - it's illegal. This is a crime, and a very serious one. He describes it as a crime against democracy, not like trespassing in the Capitol or looking at Nancy Pelosi's desk, but actual interference in the outcome of elections. It's beyond belief, yet it's also much more common than anyone thought.

Elon Musk suggested over the weekend that Twitter interfered abroad too, noting he was seeing a lot of recent tweets about the Brazil election. Musk said it's possible Twitter gave preference to left-wing candidates. Carlson points out the irony of people lecturing Americans about democracy while potentially interfering in foreign elections in Brazil, Hungary, El Salvador, and other countries whose leaders they don't like - not because these regimes pose a threat to the United States, but simply because they don't like them.

What is being learned about state interference in democratic elections around the world has long been suspected and is now being confirmed through these document releases.
