Charlie Kirk is the Founder and President of Turning Point USA, the largest and fastest growing conservative youth activist organization in the country with over 250,000 student members, over 150 full-time staff, and a presence on over 2,000 high school and college campuses nationwide. Charlie is also the Chairman of Students for Trump, which aims to activate one million new college voters on campuses in battleground states in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election. His social media reaches over 100 million people per month and according to Axios, he is one of the "top 10 most engaged" Twitter handles in the world. He is also the host of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” which regularly ranks among the top news shows on Apple podcast charts.

Charlie Kirk Debates Student on Election Integrity, CIA Interference, and Hunter Biden Laptop Censorship

Charlie Kirk engages in a heated exchange with a college student who challenges Tulsi Gabbard's endorsement of Donald Trump. The conversation quickly shifts to examining the 2020 election margins, CIA interference through the 51 intelligence officials' letter about Hunter Biden's laptop, and FBI coordination with Twitter to suppress information. Kirk argues that government censorship of the laptop story, which affected one in four swing state voters according to the Media Research Center, fundamentally compromised election integrity. The debate touches on narrow vote margins of 42,000 across three swing states, the role of intelligence agencies in influencing elections, and whether both sides will accept future election results. The student defends Biden's victory while Kirk and Gabbard present evidence of institutional interference that they argue made the election unfair.

The Opening Challenge

A college student approached Tulsi Gabbard with a direct question: how can she endorse someone who lost the last election fair and square? The student pointed to Republican secretaries of state claiming the 2020 election was fair, Trump's phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger asking him to find 11,700 votes, and the January 6th Capitol breach as evidence that Trump has no respect for losing in the American system.

Charlie Kirk stepped in to address what he called a fair question, methodically working through multiple elements of the election integrity debate.

CIA and Intelligence Community Interference

Kirk began by establishing common ground, asking the student if the CIA should involve itself in American elections. When the student agreed they shouldn't, Kirk pointed out that they did in 2020. He referenced 51 intelligence officials who, led by Tony Blinken according to declassified emails, signed an open letter calling the Hunter Biden laptop Russian disinformation.

Tulsi Gabbard confirmed Kirk's account of these events. Kirk explained that this letter was then used to censor discussion of the laptop on social media platforms, preventing voters from accessing crucial information before making their decision.

The Electoral Math That Matters

When the student argued that Trump lost by 7 million votes, Kirk corrected the framing. While Biden won the popular vote by that margin, the Electoral College system means what actually mattered was the margin in swing states. Kirk broke down the numbers: Arizona was decided by 10,000 votes, Georgia by 11,700 votes, and Wisconsin by 21,000 votes. The total across these three states was 42,000 votes, not 7 million.

This distinction became central to Kirk's argument about the impact of information suppression on the election outcome.

The Hunter Biden Laptop Suppression

Kirk detailed how the FBI coordinated with Twitter to suppress information about Hunter Biden's laptop. He referenced Yoel Roth, Twitter's former head of trust and safety, who had standing meetings every Tuesday with the FBI in San Francisco. These meetings, ostensibly about Russian threats to American elections, resulted in the laptop being banned from discussion on the platform.

Kirk noted that he personally had his Twitter account suspended for 30 days for mentioning the laptop. When the student suggested this was simply a private company's terms of service violation, Kirk countered with evidence from the Twitter Files released by Elon Musk, which showed the FBI had directly told Twitter not to allow discussion of the laptop.

Impact on Voter Decisions

According to Kirk, the Media Research Center conducted a study showing that one out of four swing state voters would have changed their vote if they had known about the Hunter Biden laptop. Given that the election was decided by 42,000 votes across three states, this suppression could have been determinative.

The student challenged the credibility of this study, but Kirk maintained that when government agencies actively suppress information that could influence voter decisions, the election cannot be considered entirely fair.

Comparing to 2016 and Russian Interference

The student brought up 2016 Russian interference and the Mueller Report. Kirk asked if the student accepted Trump's 2016 victory as legitimate, to which the student said yes, while noting that Russian interference played a role. The student pointed out that Hillary Clinton gave a concession speech the day after the election.

Kirk noted that despite her concession speech, Hillary Clinton later said Donald Trump was not the legitimate president of the United States, a statement the student dismissed as one milked clip played all over the internet.

Historical Context and Motivations

When the student suggested Trump doesn't care about the country and only wants his name in history textbooks, Kirk posed a direct question: if Trump is only motivated by narcissism, why continue running when his business empire has been taken away, he faces 700 years in federal prison, and he's survived assassination attempts?

The student maintained that the prospect of being remembered in history textbooks is what motivates narcissists.

The Final Test of Principles

Kirk closed by asking the student if he would accept the result if Donald Trump wins. The student said yes. Kirk characterized this as the difference between them, suggesting the student had been significantly brainwashed on the topic but expressing hope that one day he would open his eyes.

In a final exchange, Kirk asked what Kamala Harris's greatest accomplishment is. The student answered that she's going to legalize marijuana federally, something overdue by 100 years. Kirk and others pointed out that Harris had previously jailed people for marijuana offenses as a prosecutor.
