Student EXPELLED After Mocking Charlie Kirk Memorial

[00:00] There's a young man at Texas State who

[00:03] during a vigil for Charlie Kirk, a

[00:05] memorial service, decided to mock him

[00:09] and his assassination.

[00:16] [Music]

[00:19] >> He not

[00:23] [Music]

[00:29] Everybody,

[00:35] >> for those just listening, he he he not

[00:38] only mocks Charlie, Charlie's being

[00:40] shot, he climbs up onto a statue at this

[00:42] vigil and mocks it, acts it out up

[00:45] there.

[00:46] I'm very, very pleased to report that

[00:49] Texas State has said that he has been

[00:52] expelled from the school. Uh, this from

[00:54] the Texas State President, Dr. Kelly

[00:58] Damp House. Followup to a message I I

[01:01] sent earlier. The university has

[01:02] identified the student in the disturbing

[01:04] video. I will not tolerate behavior that

[01:06] mocks, trivialize, trivializes, or

[01:08] promotes violence on our campuses. It is

[01:09] antithetical to our Texas state values.

[01:12] Very good. The individual is no longer a

[01:14] student at Texas State. Federal law

[01:16] prevents the university from commenting

[01:17] further on individual student conduct

[01:19] matters. Okay, good. I'm really glad to

[01:20] see this and I'm glad to see this

[01:22] explanation. This is really precise.

[01:25] The president says, "I will not tolerate

[01:28] behavior that mocks, trivializes, or

[01:30] promotes violence on our campuses."

[01:31] Because universities are supposed to be

[01:33] places for

[01:36] the exchange of ideas. Sure.

[01:39] In pursuit of

[01:42] the discovery of truth, they're places

[01:44] for tr. They're not even just places for

[01:46] the exchange of ideas. That's a mistake

[01:48] that some people make, too. That's not

[01:49] primarily what the university is for.

[01:51] That's not ultimately what the

[01:52] university is for. The university is

[01:53] ultimately for the promotion of truth.

[01:57] And one way that we arrive at truth in

[02:00] some universities is the open exchange

[02:02] of ideas. However you think of it, what

[02:06] this student did totally undercuts that.

[02:09] So he's got to go. From a basic level,

[02:12] if you watch that video for 3 seconds,

[02:14] you realize that this this guy is a

[02:17] savage. This guy has absolutely no

[02:19] business being at a university. It is a

[02:21] national disgrace that a university

[02:23] would have admitted him. Something tells

[02:25] me the warning signs were there.

[02:28] Something tells me this is not exactly a

[02:30] road scholar. Okay. Something tells me

[02:32] he wasn't validictorian and and

[02:34] president of the student body. This guy

[02:36] is a savage. He is a barbarian. He can

[02:40] do things in life. There are places for

[02:43] him in society. May not polite society,

[02:45] not really public society, but he can do

[02:47] things. There are things for him to do.

[02:50] going to college is not one of those

[02:51] things.

[02:53] And and really anyone who encouraged

[02:55] this kid as a senior in high school to

[02:57] go to a university or college is

[02:59] culpable in my view. It's not for him.

[03:04] Anyone who engages in this kind of

[03:06] behavior should be expelled. They can go

[03:09] do something else in life. Anyone who

[03:13] engages in this kind of behavior should

[03:16] be fired from certainly from public

[03:20] facing businesses, businesses involving

[03:22] education and service and healthcare.

[03:26] Anyone who engages in this kind of

[03:27] behavior should be deplatformed.

[03:31] There is no hypocrisy here in any way.

[03:33] You'll you'll see some people on the

[03:35] left, very ignorant people on the left,

[03:36] say, "Well, this is the the the right

[03:39] turning on free speech. This is the

[03:41] right changing its tune on free. I have

[03:43] not changed my tune on free speech one

[03:45] little bit. And serious people on the

[03:47] right are not changing their their tune

[03:49] on free speech one little bit.

[03:52] Free marketplace all marketplaces

[03:55] require rules and all liberty requires

[03:57] order.

[03:59] And and all society requires

[04:02] responsibility and duties and

[04:04] consequences.

[04:07] There are prominent left-wing streamers.

[04:09] I talked about them yesterday. One guy

[04:10] who calls himself Destiny, his name is

[04:11] Steven Bunell, and then another guy,

[04:14] Hassan These are pretty prominent

[04:16] left-wing streamers who have encouraged

[04:18] violence repeatedly against

[04:19] conservatives. They should be fully

[04:22] deplatformed from social media.

[04:25] Fully deplatformed. Uh Steven Bell, I

[04:28] believe, was some time ago deplatformed

[04:30] from Twitch. That's fine. That's a good

[04:31] start. He should be deplatformed from X.

[04:34] He should be deplatformed from Meta. He

[04:37] should be deplatformed from Instagram

[04:38] and Facebook. as should Hassan

[04:40] They should be fully deplatformed from

[04:43] the public square. They have no business

[04:45] being in the public square. Their

[04:46] presence there undermines the public

[04:48] square and the exchange of ideas. That

[04:51] is not authoritarian. That is not

[04:53] contrary to the American tradition of

[04:54] free speech. That is a defense of the

[04:58] free exchange of ideas

[05:00] because their presence there undercuts

[05:03] all of those things.

[05:05] And conservatives need to get with the

[05:08] program and need to uh pull themselves

[05:12] out of utopian

[05:14] false ideologies and get back to the

[05:17] reality of of politics and the reality

[05:20] of the American tradition and the

[05:22] reality of what free speech has meant

[05:24] for the periods during which our country

[05:26] has flourished.

[05:28] But but this is an easy test. This is

[05:30] not pie in the sky. This is not dimetore

[05:32] philosophy. Here's an easy test. Are you

[05:34] serious

[05:36] about defending uh the robust exchange

[05:38] of ideas? Are you serious about

[05:40] political reform in the wake of the

[05:42] assassination of Charlie Kirk and the

[05:44] widespread left-wing celebration of that

[05:45] assassination? Are you serious? Then

[05:47] deplatform Steven Bunnell from

[05:49] everything. Deppplatform Hassan

[05:51] from everything. Simple as. And big tech

[05:54] platforms that will not do that, it

[05:56] seems to me, are quite clearly not

[05:58] serious about it.
