Court Grants Extension for Defense Review

A Utah judge has granted more time for the defense team of the man accused of killing Charlie Kirk to review evidence before deciding whether to move forward with a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors have charged 22-year-old Tyler Robinson with aggravated murder, and they say they plan to seek the death penalty.

At a brief hearing in Provo on Monday, Robinson's newly appointed attorney, Katherine Nester, told the court her team needs additional time to go through what was described as voluminous evidence. Nester explained to the court, "There is a substantial amount of discovery in this case, your honor. It's voluminous to say the least. And we're working on a process where we can exchange information as quickly as possible."

Defendant Appears Remotely

Robinson did not appear in person, but instead joined the hearing by audio from jail. Judge Tony Graf scheduled the next court date for October 30th.
