Meanwhile, the real crises destroying black communities receive no committee hearings: 75% of black boys in California don't meet state reading standards, in Baltimore five high schools and one middle school had not a single student proficient in math or reading in 2016, and the single motherhood rate exploded from 23% in the 1960s to 74% today.
The Abortion Crisis No One Wants to Discuss
Owens challenged the selective outrage of movements like Black Lives Matter, noting their focus on approximately 16 unarmed black men shot by police in 2016 while ignoring 17-18 million black babies aborted since 1973. Nine hundred black babies are aborted every single day. In New York City, the abortion rate actually exceeds the birth rate among black Americans, meeting the United Nations definition of genocide.
She pointed out that a black person has a higher chance of being struck by lightning than being shot unarmed by police, and that white men and Hispanic men are statistically more likely to be shot and killed by police officers than black men. Yet when Governor Andrew Cuomo lit up buildings celebrating late-term abortions, the silence was deafening. If Black Lives Matter changed their focus to black babies and nine-month abortions, Owens declared she would wear their t-shirt tomorrow. Democrat policies, not white nationalism, created these devastating statistics.
The Congressional Hearing as Political Theater
Owens identified the hearing's true purpose: fear mongering, power, and control as a preview of Democrat 2020 election strategy. Democrats blame Facebook, Google, and Twitter because social media disrupted their monopoly on information. They believe movements like Blexit, which inspires black Americans to leave the Democrat Party, would never exist without these platforms, and Donald Trump wouldn't be president.
The rise in white nationalism statistics, she explained, results from manipulated data, widening definitions of hate crimes, and increasing the number of reporting agencies. The goal is scaring blacks, Hispanics, gays, and Muslims into censoring dissenting opinions and helping Democrats regain narrative control they lost with Trump's victory.
If Congress genuinely cared about white nationalism, Owens argued, they would hold hearings on Antifa, the far-left violent white gang who determined she, a black woman, wasn't fit to sit in a Philadelphia restaurant. They chased her out, threw water and eggs at her, and yelled "race traitor" at the black and Hispanic police officers protecting her. The leftist media remained silent.
Defending Nationalism Against Dishonest Attacks
Representative Ted Lieu attempted to discredit Owens by playing a deceptively edited clip where she discussed nationalism and Hitler. Owens called out his dishonesty, explaining he deliberately cut off the question she was answering to create a false narrative. The actual question asked whether she believed nationalism was bad. Her response was that Hitler should not be characterized as a nationalist because he was a homicidal psychopathic maniac who killed his own people, which no true nationalist would do.
She found it deeply offensive, especially since she works for Prager University run by an Orthodox Jew and sat on a plane for 18 hours to attend the embassy opening in Jerusalem while not a single Democrat stood up for it. Lieu's tactic mirrored how media dishonestly edits Donald Trump to create different narratives. His refusal to let her respond revealed everything about where political discourse stands today.
The Antifa Breakfast Ambush in Philadelphia
Owens and Charlie Kirk recounted their terrifying experience at Green Eggs Cafe in Philadelphia. They were simply having a breakfast meeting to discuss Turning Point USA business when they noticed someone inside wearing Antifa gear. Thirty minutes later, a mob descended on the restaurant. People inside had sent out what Kirk called "a bat signal" alerting others that conservatives were present.
The speed of mobilization at 8:00 a.m. on a Monday morning suggested this was a well-funded, organized effort likely serving as these individuals' actual employment. The entirely white Antifa group used whistles and bullhorns, screaming at the mostly black police force, calling them racist and white supremacists while labeling Owens a "race traitor." The scene evoked the civil rights era with peaceful black police officers being harassed by angry white protesters.
Owens and Kirk stood their ground briefly while police did an exceptional job protecting them. Water and eggs were thrown, but they refused to retaliate. They weren't playing the victim card but warning America this represents the new face of the Democrat Party, directly following Maxine Waters' orders to confront Trump administration officials in public spaces.
Rejecting Victim Status and the Oppression Olympics
The Left promotes virtue in victimhood, Owens explained, encouraging people to compete in "oppression Olympics" where a black woman who is lesbian and disabled wins. But there are no awards for being a victim. This mentality only allows Democrats to steal votes, divide communities, and guarantee emotional rather than rational responses.
Progress is not a skin tone; progress is a number. For too long, black Americans were convinced that photo ops with Beyoncé and Jay-Z meant something while Chicago worsened under President Obama, who came from there. You cannot dispute these facts with emotional appeals to a black president's symbolic importance when his policies failed to deliver results.
Comparing Obama and Trump on Black America
When challenged about Trump's lack of focus on black America, Owens flipped the question: if Trump isn't focusing on issues affecting black Americans despite record low unemployment, then Obama certainly wasn't either since the numbers prove blacks are doing better under Trump's administration. After eight years of Obama, 13 million more Americans were on food stamps and eight million more lived in poverty.
Under Trump, 14 states have record low unemployment for all Americans, including record lows for black Americans, Hispanic Americans, and women. The Black Caucus sat silent when Trump announced historic black unemployment but stood to applaud Obama's food stamp increases. That represents a disgusting prioritization of dependency over empowerment.
Diversity is not skin color, Owens insisted. The illusion the Left sells is that someone matching your gender or race automatically has your best interests at heart. Barack Obama proved that completely false. She's not interested in the color of people's skin in the White House but what they actually accomplish for American communities.
The Great Society and Destruction of Black Families
Democrats hijacked education and destroyed black families through LBJ's Great Society, removing black fathers so black youth would look to hip-hop culture and athletes for direction instead of strong male role models. Hollywood developed an underground system of conservative thinkers who fear losing their jobs, which is why Kanye West's public support of different thinking was so significant and brave.
Strong male figures saved Owens from liberalism. Her grandfather's presence in her life provided the foundation that protected her from the victim mentality permeating society. The feminist movement tries to destroy gender roles by turning women into men and men into women, breaking down the family unit. The 77% single motherhood rate in the black community demonstrates the devastating consequences, yet no one discusses white supremacy causing that; Democrat policies did.
The First Young Black Leadership Summit
Turning Point USA organized the first-ever Young Black Leadership Summit in Washington DC, bringing over 400 young black leaders together despite critics and consultants claiming it couldn't be done. The last-minute influx of interest meant they could have filled five to ten times the spots available. Owens and Brandon Tatum created this opportunity to expose attendees to conservative ideas, bringing them resources and speakers like Dr. Ben Carson and Larry Elder who are routinely mocked in black communities.
Major hurdles facing the black community include lack of access to different ideas, being locked in a bubble. Past conservative outreach was often too intellectual, making it easy for the Left to mock figures like Dr. Ben Carson and Condoleezza Rice through television skits. Owens adopted a more colloquial, fighting approach, making content feel like talking to a brother or sister, taking back ground lost in the culture war by mocking the Left just as they mock conservatives.
Reparations: Insulting Hypocrisy
The reparations discussion exemplifies how stupid Democrats think the black community is. They've spent a decade claiming voter ID laws would prevent black Americans from voting because they're supposedly too incompetent to obtain identification, even though you can't do anything in society without ID. Yet somehow with reparations, they expect black Americans to produce ancestral paperwork dating back to slavery to prove lineage.
The astounding hypocrisy amazes Owens each time. It's an Olympic sprint of who can be more insulting, and they outdo themselves constantly. Reparations means assembling committees for a "full-throated conversation" that will never result in action, just like every election cycle when the black community gets promised things that never materialize. Hillary Clinton's hot sauce pandering and AOC's "black accent" represent the same condescending approach.
It's time to get off this hamster wheel and realize Democrats have no interest in repairing anything. They only want power and believe Trump took it from them, so they'll say anything and put on any accent to regain it.
Free Markets and Fighting Socialism
Turning Point USA believes in free markets as the greatest deliverer of economic justice, rewarding people based on how hard they work and how great their ideas are through a merit-based system. Socialism doesn't work; 100 million people have been killed over the last 100 years under socialist regimes, yet leftists claim it will be different in America.
People aren't fleeing Venezuela for America because socialism is great. Cuban Americans and Venezuelan Americans think discussing socialism seriously is insane. Owens challenges anyone to name one left politician who has said anything positive about America in the last four years. They're hostile toward American values, wanting to divide and transform the country into something unrecognizable.
If you were born in America, you already won the lottery. The ideological civil war happening in the black community pits those focused on the past, shouting about slavery, against those focused on their futures. The victim mentality embraced by overly privileged Americans who utilize their ancestors' history with more emotion than those ancestors had while living through actual oppression is embarrassing.
The Cultural Shift Coming to America
This cultural shift will happen. The Left's attempt to shut down and demonize conservatives is ramping up, but their house of cards is collapsing. Politics is downstream from culture, and if they lose the culture war, they lose everything. They cannot afford black people thinking differently; if the black vote moves even 5%, the Democrat Party is finished.
When black icons and stars speak out against the Left, they face vicious attacks. Tom Arnold went on a sexist, brutal, hateful, racist Twitter tirade against Owens after Kanye West praised her thinking. Former Democratic operatives call her a phony and fraud because she threatens their narrative control.
Owens is viciously attacked by the Left because they detest any minority who finds the audacity to speak out differently. They claim to champion women and minority voices until those voices challenge their orthodoxy. Why? Because she discusses real issues impacting the black community like illiteracy rates, while they obsess over white supremacy and white nationalism to keep America divided. Their party sustains itself only through perpetual warfare between Americans.
We are all Patriots, all part of this great nation, all Americans. The courage required to speak truth to power at the highest levels comes from refusing victim status and choosing to be victors instead. The answer is showing up in force and not allowing radicals to regain control through manipulation, fear, and the same tired election strategies deployed every four years with handouts and manufactured crises. The biggest scandal in American politics remains Democrats conning minorities into believing they are perpetual victims, ensuring failure through racial division and class warfare central to their platform.
