Candace Owens Investigates Charlie Kirk Assassination Theory Involving Rigged Rode Microphone and Explosive Device

Candace Owens examines mounting evidence suggesting Charlie Kirk may have been killed by an explosive device hidden in his wireless rode microphone rather than by a sniper shot. Drawing on research into shaped charges, PETN explosives, and parallels to the Lebanon pager attacks, Owens challenges the official narrative while questioning why bomb dogs were kept away from the scene, why the crime scene was paved over within days, and why Turning Point USA leadership shows little interest in investigating inconsistencies. She credits researchers Don Porter and Jon Aaron Bray for their work on this theory, and explores how the FBI's recent Twitter response to her FOIA requests reveals broader issues with transparency and accountability.

FBI Responds to FOIA Requests on Social Media

The FBI's rapid response Twitter account engaged in a public confrontation over how Candace Owens promoted her show, accusing her of clickbait after she summarized their response to her Freedom of Information Act request. Owens had requested Kash Patel's travel itinerary for the three days leading up to Charlie Kirk's assassination, but was told the request was too burdensome and needed to be more specific. When she paraphrased this on Twitter, the FBI account demanded she show where they used her exact quoted words, apparently not understanding the concept of summarization.

The exchange highlighted the absurdity of the nation's premier law enforcement agency monitoring social media posts and policing tone rather than focusing on substantial investigative work. Owens pointed out the hypocrisy of the Department of Justice accusing anyone of clickbait after their own performance with the Epstein investigation photo opportunity featuring influencers holding empty binders.

The rode microphone Explosive Theory

Owens dedicates significant attention to examining a theory first posited by X user Jon Aaron Bray that Charlie Kirk may have been killed by an explosive device rigged inside his wireless rode microphone. This theory gained traction after Owens exclusively revealed photos from inside the SUV that carried Kirk to the hospital, which showed what appeared to be shards of ABS plastic consistent with a shattered rode microphone.

The theory requires understanding several technical details. Kirk typically always preferred using only a handheld microphone during events, but during his fall 2024 "You're Being Brainwashed" tour, he began using a redundant system with both a handheld mic and a wireless rode microphone clipped to his clothing. The wireless mic used a magnetic clip that remained attached to Kirk throughout the September 10th event, with the actual microphone device positioned on the inside of his clothing.

If this microphone contained an explosive, it would likely have been a shaped charge, a specialized explosive device designed to focus blast energy in a specific direction rather than dispersing in all directions. Owens explains that shaped charges can function similarly to a bullet in terms of directionality, though without the same kinetic energy. A PETN explosive of approximately 20 grams, similar to what was used in the Lebanon pager attacks, could penetrate flesh and cause fatal injuries, particularly if hitting an artery, while not causing the extensive damage that a 30-06 rifle bullet would inflict.

Evidence Supporting the Explosive Theory

Several pieces of evidence lend credibility to the explosive microphone theory. First, despite bomb dogs being available and on the scene, they were never brought to the area where Kirk was seated. Bomb dogs represent the highest grade technology available for detecting explosives, capable of detecting trace amounts of explosives or fired weapons for up to 10 days even after rain. Their absence from the critical area is suspicious, particularly since they were brought to a random field where Tyler Robinson's gun would allegedly be recovered, though not by the dogs themselves.

Second, there was an unusually urgent effort to pave over the crime scene. A contractor was called on Sunday, just days after the Wednesday shooting, and told that the FBI and governor wanted pavers installed by Monday. This was described as a "paver emergency," though no reasonable explanation was given for the urgency. Paving over the scene would effectively hide any trace chemical particles from explosives that would have remained in the soil.

Third, the 30-06 bullet that allegedly killed Kirk does not match the physical evidence. A 30-06 round carries enough kinetic energy to nearly decapitate someone when hitting the neck. Yet footage from behind Kirk's head shows that the projectile did not pierce through and did not even cause blood to spatter backwards. Kirk's body was reportedly in very good condition outside of the front-facing wound and the severed artery, inconsistent with the damage a 30-06 bullet would cause.

Fourth, video footage shows what appears to be shards of plastic scattered inside the SUV where Kirk's body was placed. These shards, visible in the captain's chair and crevices where Kirk was positioned, are consistent with shattered ABS plastic from a rode microphone. The speed with which federal authorities had the vehicle towed, cleaned, towed again, and put up for resale is highly unusual and suggests an effort to destroy evidence.

Parallels to Lebanon Pager Attacks

The explosive microphone theory draws obvious parallels to the September 2024 attacks in Lebanon and Syria where pagers and walkie-talkies exploded, killing and injuring Hezbollah members. Those devices were rigged with PETN explosives and detonated remotely. A YouTube video Owens references shows a test of 20 grams of PETN explosive against bulletproof glass, creating a hole with a diameter similar to a 30-06 bullet but without the kinetic energy to fully penetrate the glass. The sound of the explosion in the test video bears similarity to the sound captured at Kirk's event.

If Kirk's microphone was rigged with a similar device, someone with access to the equipment could have detonated it remotely. Owens speculates that if she were planning such an attack, the intended target would have been Kirk's chest rather than his neck, as a chest wound would provide more plausible deniability for why the bullet didn't fully penetrate. The neck hit may have been unintentional, which is why the physical evidence so clearly contradicts the official narrative of a rifle shot.

The Israel Connection

Owens notes that the entire assassination has been "Israel-coded" from the beginning. Nobody initially looked at Israel as a potential suspect, but then Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came out unprompted to say they didn't do it. There were lies about Kirk's alleged attendance at a Hampton Summit, with Turning Point USA only admitting the truth after Owens produced receipts. The organization became angry when the truth came out, suggesting Joe Kent was the source, rather than simply being transparent.

The use of an explosive device hidden in communications equipment, if proven, would be consistent with Israeli intelligence operations, particularly given the timing shortly after the Lebanon pager attacks demonstrated this capability. Kirk had been changing his position on Israel policy and had received significant pressure from Zionists, including pressure that led to Owens being removed from touring with Kirk.

Questions About Turning Point USA's Response

Owens expresses deep suspicion about how Turning Point USA leadership has handled the investigation. Erika Kirk, Charlie's widow, has shown no interest in pursuing answers to obvious questions and inconsistencies. She stated definitively that she believes Tyler Robinson acted alone, but when asked why, she offered to get her lawyer on the phone rather than providing reasoning. The lawyer admitted they have no more evidence than what's available to the public.

Nobody at Turning Point has been fired despite egregious behavior. Terryl Farnsworth recorded himself on body camera during the incident and then took down cameras afterward, yet remains employed. Mikey walked away from the scene rather than running, apparently confident there would be no more shots. He called his wife rather than 911, contradicting earlier claims that Kirk had trained him to immediately call Erica in any emergency. Blake Nefff called his mother instead of 911. Frank Turek's story about being on FaceTime with his 35-year-old son during the event has inconsistencies, particularly regarding when he made calls from the hospital.

The organization transformed the memorial service into what appeared to be a celebration, with attendees looking "glowing" and "refreshed." They went to Kirk's favorite restaurant afterward, giggling and having "the best night ever." This stands in stark contrast to their current demeanor now that questions are being asked, with team members appearing stressed and frustrated.

Physical Evidence and Crime Scene Integrity

The handling of physical evidence raises numerous red flags. The SUV that transported Kirk to the hospital should have been one of the most important pieces of evidence, yet it was quickly towed, cleaned, towed again, and put up for resale. According to Frank Turek, authorities got everything they needed at the hospital and then disposed of the vehicle. Owens was fortunate to obtain photos showing the plastic shards before the vehicle was completely cleaned.

The crime scene itself was compromised in multiple ways. Bomb dogs were kept away from the critical area. Police officers were seen crawling around the scene rather than using the available K-9 units. The area was paved over within days in what was described as an emergency, though no legitimate emergency existed that would require immediate paving.

Footage from behind Kirk's head was apparently never meant to see the light of day. Terryl Farnsworth had an early conversation with Erika Kirk about this footage, which is strange given the timing shortly after the assassination. This footage is critical because it clearly shows the projectile did not pierce through Kirk's neck and did not cause backward blood spatter, which would be expected from a 30-06 rifle round.

Lack of Evidence Against Tyler Robinson

While the explosive microphone theory has mounting circumstantial evidence, the case against Tyler Robinson has virtually no solid physical evidence. Authorities have a gun that Robinson owned, with his fingerprints on it because it was his gun, but also with five other unidentified sets of fingerprints. They have not proven the gun was fired on September 10th. No gunshot residue test was performed on Robinson to confirm he fired a weapon.

The alleged evidence consists primarily of confessions that seem implausible. Robinson allegedly sent a detailed text message confession, despite being intelligent enough to graduate high school with above a 4.0 GPA. He supposedly told the recipient to delete the message, yet also wrote a physical note and placed it under his keyboard. The logic of writing both a text confession and a physical note is questionable. There are also alleged Discord confessions, though the details have been shifting.

The only visual evidence consists of grainy staircase photos that are not clearly identifiable. Owens states she cannot confidently determine the ethnicity of the person in the photos, much less confirm it is Robinson. For someone who allegedly committed a sophisticated assassination, the evidence trail is remarkably thin and convenient.

FOIA Requests and Government Obstruction

Owens details her experience filing Freedom of Information Act requests and the obstruction she has encountered. By law, government agencies must respond to FOIA requests within 20 working days, excluding weekends and public holidays. However, agencies can claim a request is too burdensome or complex and needs to be more specific.

When Owens requested any emails from the Department of Defense that included Erika Kirk's name, she was told the request was too burdensome. She had already revealed that an email went out within an hour of the shooting referring to Erica as an "emotional asset" and seeking to artificially boost her video, which should make such emails relatively limited in number.

Similarly, when Owens requested Kash Patel's travel itinerary for just the three days leading up to Kirk's assassination, she was told the request needed to be more specific because it would require coordination across various departments. A three-day calendar should be straightforward to produce, yet authorities claimed it fell under "unusual circumstances" that prevented them from responding within the required 20 days.

The FBI's decision to respond rapidly on Twitter to criticize Owens's characterization of their response, while taking excessive time to respond to the actual FOIA requests, illustrates misplaced priorities. The agency appears more concerned with public relations and tone policing than with transparency and accountability.

The Hickman County Explosion

Owens mentions she is investigating an explosion that occurred on October 10th at Accurate Energetic Systems in Hickman County, Tennessee, about 60 miles west of Nashville. This facility manufactures military and demolition explosives, and the blast killed 16 employees. Two theories exist: either something went wrong in the normal course of operations at an explosives factory, or the explosion was used to hide evidence of explosives being manufactured for an assassination device.

Owens is requesting information from anyone with actual knowledge of this incident, not theories, to be sent to tips@candaceowens.com. She emphasizes that sources' identities will be protected. This line of investigation relates to where a rigged explosive device might have been assembled if the microphone theory is correct.

Military Veteran Receives Care in Russia

In a separate segment, Owens provides an update on a U.S. military veteran who traveled with her team to Russia. The individual, a SEAL Team One veteran who served 12 years, had been repeatedly denied appointments at the VA despite experiencing serious symptoms including seizures, hearing loss, headaches, and coughing up blood in the morning. The VA told him his symptoms were PTSD and prescribed Xanax.

Shortly after landing in Russia, the veteran had a seizure and required emergency surgery. Russian doctors found a massive blood clot in his brain and removed it. Following the surgery, all his other symptoms cleared up, he no longer needed his hearing aid, his headaches stopped, and he stopped coughing up blood. The hospital treated him with exceptional care despite the team having no special connections.

The veteran, who is only 42 years old, received visits from Russian military personnel who showed camaraderie and ensured he received special treatment. The Catholic family from Kansas City, Missouri that had been hosting Owens's group, a family with eight children who moved to Russia, also visited regularly. A hospital staff member, described as a "babushka," sends the veteran encouraging notes each morning. A physical therapist, whom the veteran's wife describes as "hardcore" like someone who trained Russian gymnasts, is working with him on his recovery from paralysis.

The veteran's wife shared that the suicide rate among Navy SEALs is connected to undiagnosed brain issues, similar to CTE in NFL players. The VA's refusal to address physical brain problems like blood clots, instead prescribing psychiatric medication, represents a systemic failure. Owens notes the irony that the medications prescribed by the VA are actually illegal in Russia, where doctors will only treat patients if they can identify a physical problem to address.

Questions About the Livestream

Another suspicious element involves Turning Point USA's claim that they were livestreaming the September 10th event back to the office. Terryl Farnsworth told Owens this was something new they had started doing, allegedly to cut clips expeditiously. However, Owens has asked multiple people at Turning Point whether they remember watching this livestream at the office, and thus far no one has confirmed seeing it.

If the second microphone was actually a rigged explosive device rather than a functioning microphone, the livestream story would have been a cover for why Kirk was wearing an unusual redundant microphone setup. The absence of anyone confirming they actually watched the livestream raises questions about whether it existed at all.

The Necklace Mystery

Several people involved in the incident told strange stories about Kirk's necklace. Frank Turek claimed that federal agents were looking for the necklace in the car, then he found it sitting on his backpack and told them "there it is." This raises the question of how investigators even knew Kirk was wearing a necklace in the first place.

Footage shows the necklace breaking at a specific point and traveling in a particular direction before Kirk reacts to his wound. If a rode microphone with an explosive traveled upward, as the evidence suggests, it would have broken the necklace first before the projectile hit Kirk's neck. This sequence is visible in the slowed-down footage from behind Kirk's head.

Call for Continued Investigation

Owens emphasizes that she is not claiming to have proven the explosive microphone theory, but rather that it deserves thorough investigation. She notes that there is now more evidentiary support for Kirk being killed by a rigged explosive device than for Tyler Robinson shooting him from a rooftop. The official story has numerous holes, inconsistencies, and suspicious behaviors that have not been adequately explained.

She credits researchers Don Porter, a friend of Corey Comperatore who has worked tirelessly to keep the Butler assassination story alive, and Jon Aaron Bray, who has been working on the explosive microphone theory since September. Owens acknowledges that she initially didn't have the technical skill set to properly investigate this theory but has spent time learning about shaped charges, PETN explosives, and detonation methods.

The investigation continues with the goal of honoring Charlie Kirk's legacy by not accepting the "fed slop" being served as an official narrative. Owens points to Kirk's own words about the Butler assassination, where he expressed frustration with the lack of answers and the suspicious circumstances, noting how those words now seem to describe his own assassination.
