The State of Justice and Self-Control in America
Charlie Kirk opens his remarks at Dream City Church by addressing what he describes as a mockery of justice happening across the country. He emphasizes that self-control is a fruit of the spirit, even as he admits to being "perpetually furious" at what he's witnessing. Kirk makes clear this isn't merely political—it's about decency, customs, traditions, and reason.
Kirk points to the contrast between the treatment of political dissidents and the lack of attention given to child sex trafficking. He praises Dream City Church for their work combating trafficking while expressing frustration that the government can indict someone for "thinking something incorrectly." He acknowledges these people as "lowlifes" for weaponizing justice against those who challenge the current administration, noting this has never happened in American history.
Drawing on Jeremiah 29:7, Kirk reminds the audience to "demand the welfare of the nation that you are in because your welfare is tied to your nation's welfare." When instruments of justice are deployed against dissidents, Kirk advises prayer, fasting, and diving deep into ideas while organizing communities and taking education seriously.
Remaining Joyful During Demoralization
Kirk identifies what's happening as a "mass demoralization campaign" designed to make people surrender. He urges the audience to respond with the opposite approach: remain cheerful, joyful, show up more, pray more, and do more. He emphasizes that involvement should come from obedience to God rather than from a certainty of winning.
Kirk shares that he's been studying the Old Testament, particularly through Dennis Prager's 15-year lecture series. After 600 hours of study, Kirk is now in Deuteronomy and advocates for renaming the Book of Numbers to "In the Wilderness," believing more people would engage with it under that title.
The Lesson from Numbers 11: Stop Complaining
Kirk highlights Numbers 11, where the Israelites complain despite God delivering them from Egypt and providing for all their needs. They cry about wanting meat and reminisce about the fish, cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic they ate in Egypt—"that cost nothing." Kirk points out they were slaves, so of course everything was "free."
The chapter is titled "The People Complain," and God responds with displeasure and fire. Kirk draws a parallel to the American left, describing it as "weaponized complaining" indistinguishable from Marxism. He warns against becoming complainers ourselves, emphasizing the need to be doers rather than experts in complaint. Despite challenges, America remains the greatest country in history with plenty of fight left.
Introducing Dr. James Lindsay
Kirk introduces Dr. James Lindsay, noting he's the only non-Christian speaker invited to Dream City Church besides Dennis Prager, who is an Orthodox Jew. Kirk addresses criticism he's received from some pastors about bringing Lindsay to speak at a church, defending the decision vigorously.
Kirk emphasizes that Lindsay knows the Bible better than most pastors, loves truth, and is the number one expert in America on Marxism and critical race theory. He describes Lindsay as someone in the trenches, traveling 300 days a year, who has written groundbreaking books including Race Marxism, The Marxification of Education, and Cynical Theories.
Kirk stresses that Lindsay teaches how to win against those grooming children and promoting LGBT ideology and critical race theory. He challenges critics, saying churches should welcome an expert who can diagnose and solve societal ills, and notes that Dream City Church deserves credit for the invitation.
James Lindsay's Journey from Mathematics to Cultural Warrior
Lindsay shares how his PhD in mathematics led him to fight the degenerate Marxist left. In 2010, he left university teaching after administrators prioritized student retention over academic standards, telling professors not to give bad grades or fail too many students. Unable to teach math in good faith under those conditions, Lindsay became a massage therapist for ten years.
Academically bored, Lindsay started engaging with feminism online, asking questions about where these ideas originated. Feminists sent him academic papers, which he read and found deeply troubling. He realized this "poison" was infiltrating academic literature—what secular society treats as equivalent to a canon of truth.
The Academic Hoax That Exposed the System
In 2018, Lindsay executed what he describes as "The Babylon Bee of Academia," writing a series of fake academic papers to expose the corruption in academic publishing. One paper claimed researchers could determine what's going on with rape culture by examining "canine rape culture" in dog parks. The paper won an award for excellence in scholarship in a leading journal, with peer reviewers calling it "brilliant."
Another paper suggested that men are transphobic because they don't practice putting things in their rear ends, and that if they practiced, they would be less transphobic. This paper was called "an important contribution to knowledge" by an academic reviewer.
Seven of Lindsay's fake papers were accepted for publication, with four actually published before a Wall Street Journal journalist figured out the dog paper wasn't legitimate. This led to Lindsay co-authoring Cynical Theories with Helen Pluckrose.
The Mission to Stop Marxism
Lindsay's path crossed with Kirk's during what Kirk calls "Floydapalooza," when critical race theory became a national obsession. Kirk was impressed by Lindsay's comprehensive knowledge of Marxist literature, tactics, and strategies. Lindsay made it his life mission to crush modern Marxism.
Lindsay approached his wife saying he believed this ideology would "unravel Western Civilization" and asked if he could quit his job to dedicate every waking moment to reading, studying, exposing, and talking about it. His wife, being pragmatic, asked if he could make money doing it. He said he didn't know, and she gave him 18 months—though Lindsay jokes she really meant 15 months.
Since 2018, Lindsay has done nothing but study Marxist ideology, reading their books constantly to understand how they think and anticipate their next moves.
The Turning Point: A Genocide in the Making
Lindsay describes the moment that solidified his decision. While writing one of the fake papers about education, he and his co-authors suggested taking privileged kids, identifying them with tests, then "abusing them out of their privilege" but doing it "with compassion" as a joke.
A peer reviewer from Hypatia, a highly respected journal in feminist philosophy, responded that they loved the idea of abusing kids out of their privilege and the concept of white fragility, but said they couldn't use compassion because "it may re-center the needs of the privileged students and thus multiply the problem."
Lindsay realized: "This ends in genocide. If you are going to use abuse to overcome a character defect and compassion is not allowed to be directed toward the people in case it makes them the center of attention again, this ends nowhere but somewhere very bad." After two or three weeks of reflection, he knew he had to dedicate his life to fighting this.
Defining Critical Race Theory
Lindsay offers a succinct definition from his book Race Marxism: "Critical race theory: calling everything you want to control racist until you control it." Whether it's a church, university, military, or individual person—call it racist until you control it. Once someone gives in, recognizes their "crimes," apologizes, and promises to do better, they've been controlled and forfeited a portion of their soul.
Understanding Queer Theory
Lindsay explains that queer theory operates the same way: calling everything homophobic or transphobic until you control it. But it goes deeper—it's an all-out war on the idea of the normal. The goal is to eliminate the concept that anything can be considered within bounds as normal behavior while other things are out of bounds as deviant, perverse, or abnormal.
This explicitly includes pedophilia. The aim is to prevent anyone from saying "I'm normal" and using that to exclude pedophiles from positions of authority, acceptance, and celebration.
Drag Queens as Priests of Initiation
Lindsay explains that drag queens function as priests performing baptism or initiation. Queer theory focuses on binaries like masculine/feminine, gay/straight, but especially on "innocence versus initiation"—specifically childhood innocence.
In a paper called "Drag Pedagogy," drag performers themselves describe their role as "a preparatory introduction to alternate modes of kinship and living queerly." When Lindsay was interviewed by BBC and asked if the word "groomer" was inappropriate, he read this quote and asked the reporter to suggest a better word. The reporter conceded but asked if it wasn't still dangerous to point it out. Lindsay responded: "It's dangerous to not point it out." The BBC cut that exchange from the interview.
The Deliberate Targeting of Children
Kirk asks directly: Is it fair to say children are being intentionally targeted for sexually perverse means to strip away their innocence and destroy the American family? Lindsay confirms this is 100% accurate.
The strategy also strips children of finding solace, hope, or solid ground in their faith. Early childhood development shows children first categorize the world into four strict distinctions: adult versus child, and male versus female. These are foundational to identity formation.
Queer theory deliberately confuses these distinctions, leaving children lost about who they are and forcing them to defer to "experts," teachers, or "trusted adults" for basic questions like "what is a woman?" Lindsay references Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson's inability to define "woman," noting she had to defer to a guru or wizard to tell her when someone's gender identity "counts."
Separating Children from Family and Faith
When children come home confused after school instruction, they've already been taught that their parents will "reject" them, so parents aren't the trusted adults—the school is there to "protect" them. When parents try to take them to church, they've been taught the Bible is outdated, patriarchal, and homophobic.
The result: children separated from family, separated from faith, confused about who they are, and dependent on asking a trusted adult to know their own identity. Lindsay adds that the setup begins by confusing children about skin color through critical race theory, making them feel awful about their skin color. When activism or being an "ally" proves insufficient, adopting a gender or sexual identity outside the norm suddenly brings celebration and a sense of positive self-worth.
The Incentive Structure on Campuses
Kirk describes asking 700 top Turning Point USA chapter leaders how many attend campuses where the social environment makes it cool to be homosexual—nearly every hand went up. There's not just acceptance but an incentive structure providing extra points, rewards, and privileges for being gay or trans, while straight students face punishment or different treatment.
Why They Want Destabilization
Lindsay clarifies they don't want a "gay country"—they want a destabilized country, because stability prevents revolutions. They want children who don't know who they are but know they need to be radical and fight against a society that's been cheating them.
Just as Mao Zedong radicalized youth to create a Red Guard to tear down old society, today's revolutionaries want to create a "rainbow guard" amped up in sexual identities, sent out to tear down society. They want these young people to have no landing pad—unable to go to parents, families, churches, or any stable places with genuine authorities who love and care for them.
The goal is a generation of completely broken and destabilized people ready to flip over society because they feel cheated. Marxism always tries to destroy three things to gain power: family, religion, and property.
The Systemic Spread Across America
When asked how widespread this is, Lindsay is unequivocal: they've made it systemic. It's virtually everywhere, regardless of how red a state appears. He specifically mentions Arizona as a purple-looking state where this is definitely happening, including in Scottsdale Unified School District.
Lindsay notes he's speaking next in Salt Lake City, Utah—sometimes called "San Francisco of the desert." Utah, despite being heavily Mormon and conservative, is actually "the fakest red state in the country." It's throughout Tennessee, all over Texas, and pervasive in Idaho, one of the reddest states. The grooming of children is happening everywhere.
Would the Devil Make Queer Theory?
Kirk asks directly: If there was a devil, would he make queer theory? Lindsay responds affirmatively. It's exactly what you'd want: lure people into initiation that separates them from family and faith, confuses them about who they are, makes it impossible to discern truth without deferring to evil priests or gurus (gender studies professors), and invites them into sin after sin after sin.
Why the Church Has Been Cowardly
Kirk presses Lindsay on why the church has been so cowardly and largely silent. Lindsay suggests everybody wants to get along, be nice, and not offend anyone. There's been a movement for the last decade—though it's changed somewhat in recent years thanks to pastors and people like Kirk—of superficial acceptance without drilling down to what's really true.
There's an infection of "perfectionism and winsomeness" in the church. Lindsay points out that "nice" wasn't Jesus's brand—He was flipping over tables. He references Matthew 10:14, where Jesus tells His followers that if people won't listen to their words, they should shake the dust off their feet and leave. The message: don't plead, don't beg, don't bend the truth to get people to come to your house or church.
The Etymology of "Nice" and Selling Your Soul
Lindsay has become convinced that the primary way people sell their souls isn't through a formal contract with the devil—it's by telling a lie to fit in. When someone says "I just want to be in a place where everybody feels like they belong, so I'm not going to tell the truth to make more people feel welcome," they're selling a little bit of their soul.
When an individual does this, it's bad, but there's a path to repentance and forgiveness. When a church does it, the consequences are devastating. Lindsay notes that "nice" doesn't exist in the Bible—it's a New Age word from the 1500s derived from Latin that literally meant "ignorant" or "stupid person."
They didn't kill Jesus because He was nice. They killed Jesus because He told the truth. He rose from the grave because He is truth and the Son of God.
Truth Is Not Nice
Kirk and Lindsay emphasize that truth is not nice, though it must be delivered lovingly. You cannot have love without truth—otherwise it's lies. Lindsay illustrates: if he became convinced he could jump off the balcony and be fine, and Charlie said "yeah, your jacket works like wings," Charlie wouldn't be loving him—he'd be enabling delusion. True love would be Charlie saying "James, brother, you're not okay, we need to get you to a hospital."
That's what truth looks like. The American church says "I don't want to judge" and lets their flock jump off the balcony. They're afraid of offending people before they commit suicide. That's the American church.
The Importance of Distinctions
Kirk emphasizes that distinctions are what keep us free and make sense of a confusing world. The distinctions established in Genesis 1-11 include: man and woman, good and evil, holy and profane, God and nature. Genesis 1:1 already contains a distinction—God created the heavens and the earth, meaning they're not the same thing.
God separates waters, creates light and dark, morning and evening, man and woman—all different. When you start confusing distinctions, which is the left's modus operandi, you're following an ancient heretical religion called hermeticism. Marxism and woke ideology are modern manifestations of this heresy.
This religion believes the true God is completely unified with no distinctions, and all distinctions in the world are illusions put forth by people who don't have full truth. The goal is to transcend distinctions—the Marxist word is "aufheben," translated as "sublation." Man and woman aren't truly different because sometimes a man can be a woman and vice versa, and you need a gender studies expert priest to tell you when it's real.
Biblical Wisdom and Reality Through Distinctions
Wisdom is clearly understanding distinctions. The Bible is a guide that starts with basic, fundamental distinctions. Every other belief system prior to God's word believed things exactly like what we're fighting now: pagan river civilizations worshiping the earth, sun, and nature. The Bible says God spoke nature into existence—you don't worship it, God is above nature.
On morality, river civilizations said the high priest or pharaoh tells us what's right and wrong. The Bible says we know right and wrong because God tells us through His revealed law. This wasn't immediate—it started with consciousness, then covenant, then 613 rules, and eventually the New Covenant and Ten Commandments.
The first five books of the Bible, especially Genesis 1-11, are an all-out war on woke ideology. They worship the earth using climate change as an excuse; we're told to take dominion over the earth. They believe humans are accidents of Darwinian evolution; Genesis 1:26-27 says God made man in "our" image (Elohim—plural, revealing the Trinity).
Holy Versus Profane
Kirk discusses how Leviticus teaches distinctions between holy and profane. Society used to hold the American flag as holy—you wouldn't dare burn it or put it on the ground. Now it's cast aside, while the trans flag has become the new holy object. Profaning the trans flag results in jail time and hate crime charges in some countries.
Every society needs something holy, and the holy and ethical are directly tied together. Leviticus contains rules about priestly garments, food, and shellfish, then suddenly in Leviticus 19: "Love your neighbor as yourself." When Jesus said all the laws and prophets hang on loving God and loving your neighbor, He was quoting this. The holy and ethical are directly related.
The Hebrew word for holy means separate, different, protected. Without distinctions, you cannot have rules for life by definition.
Progressives Are Actually Transgressives
Lindsay concludes that they call themselves "progressive," but they're actually "transgressive." They're transgressing the holy by trying to inject profanity into that which is holy, over and over again. This is transgression, not progression, and it's one of the chief deceptions they voice upon humanity.
When you profane the trans flag and they call you transphobic and accuse you of a hate crime, they become capital-A Accusers the second you call out their lies. They are Deceivers who become Accusers.
Circling back to whether the devil would create these things, Lindsay reflects on what scripture says about the devil: he's a Deceiver, and Satan literally means "prosecutor" in Hebrew. Revelation describes him leading a rebellion against the Lord—a usurpation. Paul calls Satan "the God of this world," Jesus called him "the prince of this world." We are on enemy-occupied territory. If you were Satan, you would launch queer theory and critical race theory and go after children.
The Church's Responsibility
Kirk declares that if the church doesn't stand boldly for this, the church is good for nothing. This is a spiritual war. The church must recognize that 30 to 40 million evangelical Christians didn't vote in the 2022 midterms—they didn't care enough. The Christian church doesn't care enough to save civilization.
He addresses the question of why we have leaders like Katie Hobbs and Joe Biden if God doesn't make mistakes. God doesn't make mistakes, but we do as human beings. God loves us so much He gives us freedom to say no to Him—otherwise it's not love. We're on enemy-occupied territory where Satan is prince of this world and prince of the air.
The treacherous people in government positions exist because the church hasn't played its role. If the church were active, these people wouldn't be in power. Many Christians don't even acknowledge the modern miracle that Roe v. Wade was overturned—99% of American churches didn't even mention it, let alone say thank you. America is in a state of rebellion against God.
The Maoist Cultural Revolution in America
Lindsay elaborates on maoism in America when asked by a student. What's happening now is a Maoist-style cultural revolution. He recommends studying Mao's Cultural Revolution history, starting with resources like Wikipedia and moving to deeper materials.
Americans overplay Nazi and USSR references and underplay Mao, but this is way more Maoist. Mao used identity politics—creating "red classes" for revolutionaries and "black classes" he bullied viciously. Youth led the rebellion. You could join the red class and be treated better by signing up as a revolutionary and going through thought reform (brainwashing).
Another Maoist tactic: Unity-Criticism-Unity. Create desire for unity, teach "right from wrong" through criticism and struggle, then achieve new unity on a new basis of socialist discipline. In churches, this sounds like: "We want everyone to feel like they belong, but we can't have unity because there are racists and transphobes here, so we need to criticize and struggle session anyone who doesn't get on board until they adopt the new basis of understanding racism according to CRT and transphobia according to queer theory, then we can have new unity."
When Biden took office, the first thing he pushed was "unity." Conservatives won a giant war that day by rejecting it, asking "according to who?" When the nation rejected Biden's basis for unity after all the division and "pandemic of the unvaccinated" rhetoric, they beat a huge Maoist initiative. Biden never talked about unity again.
Lindsay recommends Xi Van Fleet, who lived through Mao's Cultural Revolution as "black class" because her family had modest money. She came to America in the 1980s, loves this country, and is putting everything on the line to save it. Her lived experience of maoism is invaluable, though the left doesn't care about her lived experience because only theirs counts.
The Trans Industry and Pediatric Capture
Kirk addresses a question from a young student about helping friends confused about gender. He emphasizes this isn't the student's job—an adult needs to step in and correct the error quickly, hopefully a parent or actual trusted adult. The student's job is to be a friend and love that person.
Kirk highlights Dr. Miriam Grossman's book Lost in Trans-lation and explains the gravity of how the entire pediatric industry has been captured by trans ideology. Pediatricians are now trained to ask kids, when parents are out of the room, if they feel like a different gender. They're actively seeking new trans patients.
Hundreds of chemical castration and medieval butchering clinics now exist across the country. This isn't a fad—it's an industry. Pharmaceutical companies are making billions. Pfizer will make billions on kids. This is now a profit model for the grossest people in America.
Adults must step in the way gender dysphoria used to be handled: through clinically proven "watchful waiting." In almost every case, an 11-year-old experiencing this has parent trauma, was molested, had a father leave, or something similar. It's misdiagnosed puberty anxiety—young people going through rapid body changes who aren't socially accepted, who see a TikTok video and think they're a different gender.
Pediatricians are no longer allowed to say "no, you're not." They'll lose their licenses in Washington, Illinois, and New York. Instead of having a conversation and slowing down, they're required by law to refer children to gender-affirming clinics that will give them irreversible pharmacological agents that slow puberty and castrate them.
A Call to Action
Kirk and Lindsay close with a call to remain disciplined, understand this is evil, stay involved out of obedience rather than certainty of victory, and recognize that we're living through a mass demoralization campaign. The most important thing is to remain cheerful and joyful, not give up, do more, show up more, and pray more. They're doing this to make people surrender—we must do the opposite.
