Eyewitness Claims Charlie Kirk's Assassin Wore Tactical Gear and Face Mask, Not Blue Jeans
The man who filmed the now-famous footage of the assassin on the roof has come forward with a startling claim: the shooter he witnessed wasn't wearing blue jeans and a black top as reported, but tactical gear and a face mask. This eyewitness, who has extensive firearms training experience, insists the person he saw run across the Losee Building roof, go prone, and fire was highly trained and looked like a foreign agent. What makes this claim remarkable is that police scanner audio from immediately after the shooting describes officers searching for a suspect in all black tactical gear with a black mask. Even more bizarre, a neighbor of Tyler Robinson reported seeing him dressed in all black with a mask two weeks before the assassination.
The Eyewitness Account That Contradicts the Official Narrative
The man who captured the widely circulated footage of the assassin on the roof has emerged with claims that challenge the official description of Charlie Kirk's shooter. According to this eyewitness, the individual he saw run across the Losee Building roof, assume a prone position, and fire the fatal shot was not wearing the blue jeans, black top, sunglasses, and hat that have been publicly reported. Instead, he insists the shooter was dressed in tactical gear and wearing a face mask.
The footage in question was recorded between 12:22 and 12:23 p.m., mere seconds before Charlie Kirk was shot. In the video, the witness can be heard saying, "There's somebody on the roof right there. He just ran from over there, ran in, you know, he's right there." The witness claims he stopped recording approximately 20 seconds before the shots rang out, at which point the suspect stood up and fled the scene.
Candace Owens Reveals Details From Her Communication With the Witness
Candace Owens shared extensive details about her communication with this eyewitness on YouTube. She explained that the witness himself has considerable experience with firearms and works in a training capacity. According to Owens, he disputed the FBI's timeline that the shooter dropped onto the roof at 12:15 p.m., stating that the earliest the individual ran across the roof, set up, and took the shots was 12:22 p.m.
To verify his account, the witness provided Owens with the metadata from his footage, which confirmed the recording began at 12:22 and continued into 12:23, the exact minute Charlie Kirk was shot. The witness told Owens he had just stopped recording about 20 seconds before the shot rang out.
Crucially, the witness stated he provided authorities with a description of the shooter that did not match what the world received less than 24 hours later. When asked if the shooter was wearing jeans, he responded negatively, explaining instead that the person was dressed in tactical gear and wearing a face mask. Based on his firearms expertise, the witness said this person appeared to be a foreign agent—highly skilled, certain in his movements, and resembling a highly trained assassin.
The Witness Confronted Authorities About the Wrong Suspect
According to the witness's account shared by Owens, as soon as George Zinn was arrested and that information started circulating, he immediately approached someone on campus and said, "This is the wrong person. I observed this person with my eyes. You have the complete wrong description. The person you're looking for is wearing tactical gear and is obviously young because I watched him sprint back after taking the shot. I saw this with my own two eyes."
For reasons that remain unclear, this description of a person wearing tactical gear never made its way into the public narrative. Instead, the description that circulated featured the now-infamous veterans shirt with the American flag and jeans.
Questions About the Weapon Used
The witness also raised concerns about the weapon recovered by the FBI, stating it was not the gun he observed. He described seeing a smaller rifle. In a text message to Owens, he provided a detailed technical analysis:
"Watching the video of the impact, hearing the sharp crack instead of a big hunting rifle's boom and seeing what looked like a shorter rifle platform, albeit with the absence of the shape of a standard 30 round magazine. The assassin may have used a 10 or 20 round magazine only expecting to shoot once or twice. I would guess that he was shot with a Hornady VMAX or similar lightweight 223 bullet designed for very rapid expansion. Of course, I don't have access to any autopsy reports like you might, but if they found small shards of copper rather than one large copper coated lead slug, that's the gun and bullet I would expect was used."
Owens expressed frustration that these details weren't shared immediately during the manhunt, especially when other names and descriptions were released. She questioned why the FBI would obfuscate these details when speaking to the public, particularly an eyewitness report that completely counters the official narrative.
Police Scanner Audio Confirms the Tactical Gear Description
What lends significant credibility to the witness's account is police scanner audio from shortly after the assassination. The audio reveals that one of the first suspect descriptions circulated among law enforcement was: "Suspect wearing all black, long gun, black tactical helmet, a black mask, possibly wearing a tactical vest and jeans."
This description closely mirrors what the witness claims he reported to police: tactical gear and a face mask. The mention of the black mask is particularly noteworthy, as it appears to be a consistent detail across multiple independent sources. This also may explain why a second individual wearing dark clothing was arrested—police were actively searching for someone matching this tactical gear description.
While this description was never released publicly by the FBI or other official channels, it was clearly discussed among law enforcement during the manhunt, suggesting the witness did indeed approach police with his account as he claimed.
The Neighbor's Bizarre Account From Two Weeks Earlier
The black face mask makes another appearance in an interview given by Josh Kemp, a neighbor of Tyler Robinson, on September 13th. This interview occurred before Candace Owens released the witness's claims about tactical gear and a face mask, meaning Kemp could not have been influenced by that narrative.
When asked about seeing Tyler Robinson, Kemp stated: "I've never seen really anybody dressed all in black with a mask on and I thought that was just quite weird." He described seeing Robinson approximately two weeks before the assassination, dressed entirely in black and wearing a mask, which he found unusual enough to remember.
Kemp also described Robinson as being with someone who appeared to be a romantic partner, noting they were holding hands and kissing. He mentioned overhearing them discussing a doctor's appointment, and indicated that Robinson's companion appeared to be transitioning.
Could Tyler Robinson Have Changed Clothes on the Roof?
According to the probable cause affidavit regarding Tyler Robinson, CCTV footage shows him making his way up to the roof, but there is a brief period where he is out of camera view. This raises the question: could Robinson have had a black face mask in his backpack, put it on before running across the roof, assumed the prone position, taken the shot, removed the mask back into the bag, and then fled?
The footage quality is admittedly poor, making it difficult to definitively identify details. It's unclear whether Robinson is carrying a rifle, and the images are too grainy to make conclusive determinations. Some observers have questioned whether the CCTV images show a gun in his trousers, though opinions vary.
The Recurring Pattern of the Black Mask
What stands out most in this investigation is the recurring mention of a black mask across three independent sources:
The eyewitness who filmed the footage, claiming he saw tactical gear and a black mask and reported it to police
Police scanner audio from hours after the assassination, describing officers searching for someone in a black tactical helmet and black mask
The neighbor's account from September 13th, describing Tyler Robinson wearing all black with a black mask two weeks before the shooting
These mentions span from hours after the assassination to weeks before it occurred, and come from sources that had no opportunity to coordinate their stories. The witness reported his account to police immediately, the scanner audio confirms this description was circulated among law enforcement, and the neighbor's interview predates the public release of the witness's claims by weeks.
Whether these accounts point to Tyler Robinson habitually wearing tactical gear and a mask, or suggest something more sinister about the events of that day, remains an open question. What is clear is that the black mask detail appears too frequently across independent sources to dismiss entirely.
