Karlyn Borysenko Exposes How the Far-Left Uses Capitalism as Their Target for Revolution

Karlyn Borysenko reveals what four years of undercover work inside far-left networks taught her about their true goals. Drawing from thousands of hours of socialist training sessions, conferences, and organizing meetings, she explains how activists use attacks on capitalism to dismantle everything from the nuclear family to parental rights. This isn't about economics alone, it's about transforming American culture through schools, libraries, and institutions. Borysenko demonstrates how terms like "whiteness," "gender," and "racism" all connect back to one target: private property ownership. She shares recordings from inside the Socialism Conference, teacher union organizing calls, and taxpayer-funded university events where abolishing the family and overthrowing the government are discussed openly. For anyone confused by social justice language or wondering what activists really mean, this presentation decodes the far-left's actual beliefs and strategies.

Understanding the Far-Left Through Years of Undercover Investigation

Karlyn Borysenko brings a unique perspective to analyzing the far-left in America. As an industrial organizational psychologist turned investigative journalist, she spent over four years going undercover inside socialist networks, watching approximately 5,000 hours of far-left training sessions, conferences, and organizing meetings. Her approach differs from typical commentary because she studies actual leftist education and communication rather than relying on out-of-context clips or mainstream media coverage.

Borysenko has attended events in person, including the Collective Power Conference at Hampshire College, where she witnessed an abortion training that included worship at an actual abortion shrine. She infiltrated the 2023 Socialism Conference in Chicago, wearing a disguise and recording presentations with a USB device. She captured Emily Drabinski, then-president of the American Library Association, stating that "libraries need to be on the agenda of socialist organizing." She also recorded Seattle high school teacher Jesse Hagopian describing how teachers in Florida were secretly zooming him into classrooms to teach banned curriculum through what he called "fugitive pedagogy."

These undercover experiences revealed a level of organization and focus that most Americans never see. The far-left coordinates extensively through virtual events, making their strategies accessible to anyone willing to watch. Most of their organizing happens online, allowing them to reach more people without the costs of physical gatherings. This digital organizing creates a massive archive of their actual beliefs, tactics, and goals.

The Four Goals Driving Every Far-Left Action

According to Borysenko, every tactic employed by the far-left serves one or more of four core goals:

  1. Gain as much power as possible
  2. Destabilize the system
  3. Attack capitalism
  4. Usher in their Marxist utopia

The left gained power starting in the 1930s when the Frankfurt School intellectuals established themselves at Columbia University. They secured positions of institutional power in academia, eventually controlling most faculty positions across higher education. Unlike political power, which depends on winning elections, institutional power provides long-term control. Tenure-track faculty positions, teaching jobs, and government roles are difficult to lose, giving the left permanent influence within these institutions.

Once in power, they work to destabilize the system. They make decisions and enact policies that create chaos and dysfunction. This destabilization is intentional—they believe you cannot overthrow the current system without fully destabilizing it first. When average people experience pain from this chaos, the left exploits that pain by blaming capitalism for all problems. This leads to their ultimate goal: replacing capitalism with what they call a Marxist utopia.

Capitalism Defined: What the Left Really Means

When the far-left says "capitalism," they define it specifically as private property ownership. This differs significantly from how most Americans understand the term. They distinguish between personal property (computers, phones, cars, pets) and what they call bourgeois property—property that creates generational and privatized wealth.

The left wants to eliminate:

  • Home ownership
  • Land ownership
  • Private businesses of any size
  • Rental properties and landlords
  • Parental rights over children
  • Individual liberties
  • Private healthcare, insurance, and doctors
  • Private schooling and homeschooling
  • Private energy and gas providers
  • Private farms and food production

They consider parental rights a form of private property because parents can pass generational wealth to children. They want to collectivize food production, eliminate private kitchens, and have everyone eat at community canteens. These aren't exaggerations—Borysenko has video evidence of leftist trainers explicitly stating these goals.

Mary Bowman, a nursing professor at DePaul University who spoke at the Socialism Conference, stated clearly: "We cannot be free under capitalism. We cannot be free in this society as long as any person is in prison. As long as any person is denied health care for something necessary. We cannot be free until everyone is free."

Capitalism as Cultural Model: Why Everything Connects Back

The far-left views capitalism not just as an economic model but as a cultural model. This is where most people get confused. They see the left attacking "whiteness" and assume it's about race. They see attacks on gender and assume it's about sexuality. In reality, these are all attacks on different aspects of capitalism.

Capitalism is supported by cultural norms like individualism, meritocracy, work ethic, the scientific method, nuclear families, and time management. The left calls these norms "whiteness" or "white supremacy" not because they're exclusive to people with white skin, but because they uphold capitalist structures. This explains why they can say things like "black people can be white too" or describe Larry Elder as "the black face of white supremacy."

Cheryl Harris, who wrote the influential paper "Whiteness as Property" published in Harvard Law Review in 1993, stated explicitly: "Whiteness is not a skin color or even a racial type. It is a social relation constructed on exclusion, structural privilege, and its valorization." She added that "post-racial whiteness is conditionally available to persons of any racial group, even some blacks."

The famous Smithsonian document listing "aspects of white culture" included things like rugged individualism, family structure, employing the scientific method, work ethic, and time. None of these are inherently related to skin color. They're all characteristics that uphold capitalist society.

Racism and Slavery: The Connection to Private Property

The left believes capitalism created slavery because slavery involves owning people as private property. Slavery then created systemic racism, which they define as the system that upholds racism in society. When they say "systemic racism" or "institutional racism," they're not talking about skin color—they're talking about capitalism as the institution that upholds racism.

This is why they believe abolishing capitalism is the only way to eliminate racism. Angela Davis, a patron saint of the far-left, stated: "Racism cannot be separated from capitalism." A recent book presented at the 2025 Socialism Conference makes this even clearer with its title: "What is Anti-Racism and Why It Means Anti-Capitalism."

Teacher educator Dena Simmons, who was paid tens of thousands of dollars by the Cambridge, Massachusetts School District for consulting services, said in a training: "Abolition is anti-capitalist by nature. This country was built off of stolen black labor. And all those folks who are in positions of power who have that money, you got it because you stole it. Being an abolitionist is anti-capitalism because there's a connection between capitalism and slavery in this country."

Defunding Police: Managers of Private Property

The Black Lives Matter movement's primary goal was defunding and abolishing police. The left views police as managers of private property, believing American police originated as slave catchers who returned escaped slaves (private property) to their owners. They teach students that police evolved from slave masters to slave catchers to the KKK to sheriffs to modern police.

This belief drives their hatred of law enforcement and the prison system. They want to abolish all prisons and free all criminals, believing crime will largely disappear in a post-capitalist society. To them, police represent the armed protection of capitalist property relations.

Gender and the Nuclear Family: Capitalism's Reproduction Mechanism

The term "queer" doesn't mean gay or transgender to the far-left. As explained in the Discovery Channel show "The Book of Queer," queer means "whatever is at odds with the normal, the legitimate, the dominant." It's a political position against the norms that uphold capitalism.

The left believes capitalism created the social constructs of "men" and "women"—what they call the gender binary. According to their theory, capitalism created these categories by putting men in the workplace (where they access power and money) and women in the home (doing unpaid labor raising the next generation of workers).

Their primary goal is abolishing the gender binary entirely. They don't hate men or hate women specifically—they hate all gender because gender is a binary. Non-binary identities literally mean "no binary." Drag Queen Story Hour isn't about sexualizing children or creating drag queens—it's about teaching children that gender doesn't exist and is easily changed, like changing clothes.

The nuclear family is targeted because the left views it as capitalism's literal means of production. Social reproduction theory says social systems reproduce themselves until disrupted or abolished. Women have children within nuclear families, performing unpaid reproductive labor. These children become future workers under capitalism, raised with capitalist values about getting jobs and working hard.

Additionally, children are considered private property under parental rights. The left believes children should be raised collectively by the community rather than by individual parents passing down generational wealth.

Abolishing the Family: Not Hyperbole

Sophie Lewis and Amy O'Brien are prominent family abolition activists who have written multiple books on this topic. Lewis's book is titled "Abolish the Family: A Manifesto for Care and Liberation." O'Brien wrote "Family Abolition: Capitalism and the Communizing of Care."

In a presentation, Sophie Lewis stated: "Yes, it's true what the far right says. Feminism wants to abolish the family. To hell with family values and all capitalist value for that matter. And fuck parents' rights."

Mary Bowman said at a presentation: "Destroying the nuclear family through sexual liberation and queer relationship anarchy sounds pretty great."

A Denver Communist explicitly stated in a training: "Karl Marx's goal was the replacement of capitalism by communism, not the superficial modification of capitalism. His critique of capitalism was extremely radical, covering gender and sexual relations, the relations of people to the environment, the overcoming of all forms of oppression, the radical democratization of all social relations, the abolition of all states, the elimination of private productive property, and the private ownership of children."

At a Seattle Revolutionary Socialists meeting on queer liberation, organizers discussed how "the existence and acceptance in society of queer and trans people is a threat to the social narrative that the ruling class uses to uphold the structure of the nuclear family. Abolition of the nuclear family is part of liberation for women, liberation for queer people, liberation for trans people."

Reproductive Justice and Abortion

The left's extreme position on abortion stems from viewing it as liberation from reproductive roles forced on women by capitalism within the gender binary. At the Collective Power Conference at Hampshire College, Borysenko attended an abortion training that taught self-managed abortion procedures and concluded with worship at an abortion shrine that featured a plate reading "loving yourself is the greatest revolution."

The far-left connects abortion rights directly to escaping the nuclear family structure and the gender binary. Women's ability to control reproduction means they aren't trapped in the role capitalism assigned them within the traditional family structure.

Teacher Unions and Education

Teacher unions play a major role in far-left organizing. The Mayday Strong Organization, led by the National Education Association, organizes protests nationwide. At one of their organizing calls, a speaker said: "Any semblance of transphobia, patriarchy, white supremacy, capitalism are ingredients and recipe for fascism. We cannot allow these systems of oppression to exist. They are incompatible with our visions of freedom and our visions of liberation. Our enemy is pro-war. They are pro-profit. They are anti-people and anti-planet. We must be clear. The way that we can ensure that we don't wind up in the same situation 50 years later is for us to be the ones to fundamentally transform society."

Teacher educator Jesse Hagopian described how Florida teachers were circumventing curriculum restrictions by zooming him into their classrooms to teach materials about systemic racism, giving teachers plausible deniability while delivering banned content through what he called "fugitive pedagogy" or "smuggler pedagogy."

Taxpayer-Funded Indoctrination

Borysenko has documented numerous taxpayer-funded trainings promoting far-left ideology. A federal government training in Orange County, California taught teachers that if a student writes "there are only two genders" on a chalkboard, that constitutes harassment requiring intervention.

A Washington DC mayor's office-funded training discussed "dismantling gender spaces." A California community college system conference featured presentations on "queering the nuclear family" that explicitly connected the nuclear family structure to capitalism, patriarchy, heteronormativity, and white supremacy.

The University of Colorado at Boulder hosted a conference where dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder) was presented as a legitimate gender identity called "system gender." The university distanced itself from the conference only after Borysenko exposed it publicly.

The Trans School and Transforming Gender

New York City has a school exclusively for trans and non-binary students called Transformative Schools. The name is significant because when the left uses "trans," they often mean transform or transcend gender, not just transition from one gender to another. The school serves students ages 9-15 and has expanded from an after-school program with aspirations to become a full middle school.

In promotional materials, staff members describe themselves as "possibility models" for trans youth and emphasize the importance of visibility. One staff member stated: "Trans kids deserve trans schools." This represents the left's approach to abolishing gender through education—creating environments where the gender binary is completely rejected from childhood.

Parental Rights Under Attack

Attacks on parental rights stem directly from viewing children as private property. Washington state passed laws protecting trans minors from parents. An article in The Atlantic titled "Children Are Not Property" attacked the concept of parental rights. The author openly identified as a socialist at the end of the article.

The Communist Manifesto explicitly calls for eliminating the "private ownership of children." The Denver Communist stated this openly, saying Marx foresaw "the elimination of private productive property, and the private ownership of children."

Emily O'Brien and Sophie Lewis advocate for communal child-rearing rather than the "privatized model" of the nuclear family. They argue children should be raised by the entire community, eliminating the ability of parents to pass down generational wealth and capitalist values.

Intersectionality: All Roads Lead to Capitalism

The term "intersectionality" is commonly understood as referring to overlapping forms of oppression. But Borysenko argues it more accurately describes all the different ways people are oppressed by capitalism. Every issue the left champions—racism, gender, Palestine, climate change, settler colonialism—connects back to attacking capitalism from different vectors.

Racism relates to capitalism through private property ownership (slavery). Gender and patriarchy relate to capitalism through the nuclear family's role in reproducing workers. Settler colonialism relates to capitalism through stealing indigenous land and privatizing it. Palestine represents an oppressed group rising against capitalist oppressors. Climate change was caused by capitalism's profit motive. Each issue represents a different aspect of capitalism that must be attacked.

The left cannot simply use the term "capitalism" for everything because they're attacking specific aspects of the capitalist cultural model. Whiteness is one specific aspect. The gender binary is another. Settler colonialism is another. But dig into any of these issues deeply enough, and they all connect back to abolishing private property ownership.

The Core Framework

Borysenko emphasizes this framework as essential to understanding the far-left: Capitalism (defined as private property ownership) created the gender binary. The gender binary created the nuclear family. The nuclear family upholds capitalism. This circular relationship explains why attacking gender and family are central to their revolution.

Understanding this framework reveals the logic behind seemingly disconnected leftist positions. It's not random chaos or mental illness—it's a coherent ideology with clear goals and strategies. They believe capitalism created all oppression, and abolishing capitalism will solve all problems.

Liberation Through Revolution

The left uses the term "liberation" constantly. It always means liberation from capitalism. A slide from a California community college conference defined liberation as "working collectively to guarantee housing is a human right, food is a right, movement is a right, universal health care, universal child care." This means seizing all resources and property, then distributing them according to need rather than private ownership.

Mary Bowman stated: "We cannot be free until everyone is free." This means no one is free while capitalism exists. The only path to freedom, in their view, is complete abolition of the capitalist system and establishment of their Marxist utopia.

The Level of Organization

What Borysenko finds most alarming is how organized the far-left actually is. They hold countless events, trainings, and organizing meetings. They coordinate across multiple groups. They have clear goals and strategies. They're focused and disciplined in ways that don't match the stereotype of disorganized protesters.

While most anti-communists rely on out-of-context clips or surface-level analysis, the far-left is conducting extensive education within their networks. They're training thousands of activists in their ideology, tactics, and language. They're placing people in positions of institutional power across education, government, libraries, and unions.

The virtual nature of most organizing means they can coordinate nationally with minimal resources. A single training can reach hundreds or thousands of people. They record and archive their content, creating a self-replicating education system.

Why They're Allowed to Participate in Capitalism

A common criticism of socialists is that they participate in capitalism while claiming to oppose it. They buy laptops, sell books, rent homes, and engage in commerce. However, the Communist Manifesto explicitly permits this. It acknowledges that socialists live in a capitalist world and must participate in capitalism to survive. As long as they're working to overthrow the system, participating in capitalism is acceptable.

Very few of the socialists Borysenko follows own homes. Most are proud renters because they don't believe landlords should exist. They view themselves as the proletariat, not the bourgeoisie. They would never consider themselves part of the property-owning class because that contradicts their identity as revolutionaries.

Why They Won't Move to Socialist Countries

Another common question is why socialists don't move to existing socialist countries like Venezuela or Cuba. The answer is they want to enact socialism in the United States. They believe America must fall to socialism for global socialism to succeed. Since they don't believe in borders (borders protect private property), they want socialism everywhere. The United States is the primary target because it's the world's leading capitalist power.

Guns and the Left

Contrary to popular belief, the far-left is not currently focused on gun control. In fact, socialist gun clubs exist, including the Socialist Rifle Association, John Brown Gun Club, and Redneck Revolt. Leftists do own guns and train with weapons. They are preparing for violent revolution. Anyone who believes only conservatives own guns is fundamentally mistaken about the reality of far-left organizing.

What This Means for America

Borysenko believes the left is winning and that it's not even close. They control academia, dominate many unions, influence education at all levels, and have successfully pushed their ideology into corporate America, government agencies, and cultural institutions. Their decades-long march through the institutions has been remarkably successful.

Most Americans don't understand what the left actually believes because they rely on strawman arguments or surface-level analysis. The left speaks a specific language with precise meanings that differ from common understanding. Terms like "whiteness," "racism," "gender," "queer," "liberation," and "justice" all have specific definitions rooted in Marxist theory.

The left believes they're in an existential fight against capitalism, which they view as literally trying to kill them. This explains the intensity of their activism. They're not fighting for policy preferences—they're fighting for survival against what they perceive as an oppressive system that causes all human suffering.

Understanding their actual beliefs, rather than caricatures, is essential to effectively countering their influence. Calling them mentally ill or dismissing them as crazy misses the point. They have a coherent ideology, clear goals, and sophisticated strategies. They're organized, focused, and making measurable progress toward their objectives.

Borysenko's Methodology

Borysenko's approach differs from typical anti-communist commentary. She doesn't focus on dead philosophers like Marx, Engels, Hegel, or Gramsci unless absolutely necessary. While these thinkers established foundational ideas, the modern American far-left has evolved those ideas into what she calls "gain of function Marxism"—a mutated version adapted to current circumstances.

Instead of reading academic philosophy papers, she watches what the left actually teaches each other in real-world trainings. If the left isn't teaching something to their own activists, it's probably not relevant to their current strategy. This methodology reveals what they actually believe and do rather than what scholars wrote decades or centuries ago.

She studies their language, their tactics, their organizing methods, and their goals as expressed in their own words. She archives thousands of hours of their content and analyzes it systematically. This creates a more accurate picture of the real far-left than speculation based on historical texts.
