Charlie Kirk on Gun Control: What the Death Statistics Actually Show

Showing 31 Gun Control videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.

Gun control, as Charlie Kirk argued against it, rested on a factual case more than a constitutional one: look closely at what actually kills people, and the policies on offer miss almost all of it. He'd point out that suicide accounts for roughly two-thirds of all gun deaths, that most of the remaining homicides involve handguns in gang violence concentrated in a small number of neighborhoods, and that headline-grabbing proposals to ban semi-automatic rifles target a category of weapon involved in a small fraction of deaths. From there his argument was less about guns than about honesty: a policy aimed at the rare, visible tragedy while ignoring the common, unglamorous causes isn't really about saving lives, in his view, so much as being seen to act.

His preferred alternative followed the same logic in the other direction: harden the actual target rather than restrict the tool broadly. He asked why society routinely protects banks, airports, and stadiums with armed guards but balks at doing the same for schools, and pointed to cases where armed security ended an active shooting quickly as evidence that presence, not prohibition, was the more honest response to the danger everyone claimed to be worried about.
