Utah County and the Prosecution of Charlie Kirk's Accused Killer

Showing 22 Utah County videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.

Utah County is the jurisdiction prosecuting Tyler Robinson, the man charged with capital murder in Charlie Kirk's assassination at Utah Valley University, and its attorney's office has become as central to the case as the crime scene itself. County Attorney Jeffrey Gray announced the decision to seek the death penalty and later testified that the daughter of one of his prosecutors, present among the roughly 3,000 people at the shooting, had no bearing on that call, after Robinson's defense moved to disqualify the entire office over the connection. County officials have also disclosed the financial weight of the case, approving roughly a million dollars for its first year of prosecution and warning that future costs could strain other county services. Beyond the courtroom, Utah County is where much of September 10th actually happened: witnesses including a former Utah Valley University police officer and a construction-company owner have described watching Kirk struck from close range, and Senator John Curtis, a former Provo mayor, called the shooting a tragedy hitting close to home for the community he once led. Attorney Rudy Bautista has separately raised concerns about surveillance footage the county said it no longer retained, though he has no formal role in the case.
