Charlie Kirk's TikTok Strategy for Winning Young Voters

Young voters were the central audience Charlie Kirk built his political strategy around, most visibly through TikTok's outsized reach. Kirk described the platform driving 60 million daily views for his own content and noted that when meeting supporters in person, TikTok came up far more often than radio, YouTube, or Instagram combined. He applied the same analysis to Donald Trump's own TikTok launch, arguing that the campaign's 65 million views let Trump reach young voters directly without relying on legacy media or the intelligence-community-adjacent institutions Kirk was skeptical of. At the Republican National Convention, Kirk delivered a message aimed squarely at Gen Z economic anxiety, citing home prices up 47 percent since 2020 and declining marriage and birth rates as evidence that young Americans faced a worse starting position than previous generations, contrasting that with what he called the Democrats' resignation to a future where people would own nothing. Newt Gingrich later credited the same demographic shift, framing Trump's unprecedented support among young voters as the culmination of a populist conservative realignment stretching back to Goldwater and Reagan. Kirk also acknowledged the coalition's fragility after the election, warning that continued silence on the Epstein files could alienate the young male voters TikTok had helped him reach.
