Brandon Tatum Breaks Down the FBI's Sniper Evidence and Debunks Charlie Kirk Conspiracy Theories

Brandon Tatum calls on Charlie Kirk's supporters to find their own courage in the wake of his assassination, vowing that Turning Point USA will get more tactical about security without ever backing down from holding events on campus. He walks through new details released by the FBI's Salt Lake division about tracking the suspect from the rooftop into the surrounding neighborhood, along with statements from Utah's public safety commissioner and President Trump addressing reporters about the investigation and his call with Erika Kirk. Tatum also publicizes the $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and urges anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact the FBI directly rather than take matters into their own hands. Drawing on his own background on a SWAT team, Tatum spends much of the segment systematically pushing back on online theories that the shooter was either a clumsy amateur or a professional foreign hitman.

Brandon Tatum Calls for Courage After Charlie Kirk's Assassination

Brandon Tatum opens with a direct challenge to anyone who has ever felt inspired by Charlie Kirk to stop staying quiet.

"Most people understand that we're right. Most people understand that what happened to Charlie was wrong. But will you stand and say something, or will you continue to hide in the shadows and hope that good men like Charlie will continue to take the punishment, the shame, the vitriol, the hatred, the violence, for the convenience of you to be free enough to not say anything?" Tatum says.

He vows that Turning Point USA will not retreat from campus events, even as it adjusts its approach to security.

"What happened to Charlie made me feel sad. I felt angry. But I tell you what, we're going to continue, and we're going to go bigger, harder, stronger than ever before," Tatum says. "Charlie did not die in vain."

FBI Releases New Details on the Suspect's Movements

Tatum shares an update from the FBI's Salt Lake division, which says investigators tracked the suspect onto the Utah Valley University campus, onto a rooftop, and then off the roof and into a nearby neighborhood after the shooting. Officials are asking residents in that area for doorbell camera footage. The bureau says it has footwear prints, palm prints, and confident video evidence, along with a recovered bolt-action rifle bearing inscriptions on the weapon and ammunition referencing anti-transgender and antifascist statements.

Utah Officials Call the Shooting Not a Reflection of the State

A Utah public safety official addresses the shooting directly, describing it as a targeted event rather than a broader threat to the community.

"The heinous event that happened yesterday is not Utah. This is not what we're known for," the official says, adding that he had personally spoken with Erika Kirk the night before. "That family's devastated. As a commissioner of public safety, as a father, as a husband, I can only imagine what that family is going through."

President Trump Addresses Reporters

In a separate clip, President Trump fields questions from reporters about the shooting, expressing concern for the country and condemning what he calls a radical fringe on the left.

"I'm only concerned for the country," Trump says, confirming he spoke with Erika Kirk directly. "She's devastated." Asked about media commentary seeming to justify Kirk's death, Trump responds, "I think it's terrible. They got to be ashamed of themselves." Pressed on the shooter's motivation, Trump says he has an indication but isn't ready to share it publicly yet.

A $100,000 Reward and a Call to Identify the Suspect

Tatum displays an image of the suspect, urging viewers who recognize him to contact the FBI's Salt Lake office or local law enforcement rather than try to handle it themselves.

"At first, I told you to send it to me because I'd love to go to Salt Lake and take care of this, but I want to do the right thing and ask, what would Charlie want me to do? Notify the Salt Lake or your local FBI office," Tatum says, noting that the White House has put up a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Tatum Pushes Back on Conspiracy Theories

Tatum says he wants to address rumors directly, including claims that the shooter was either an inexperienced amateur or a professional hitman tied to Mossad.

"I don't believe that this guy was an amateur. I also don't believe this guy was a professional hitman... I don't think it's true that this guy was some hit professional Mossad agent or something. People are blaming the Jews. I saw people blaming Jews for this," Tatum says, rejecting both extremes.

Why Tatum Believes the Shooter Had Training

Drawing on his own experience on a SWAT team and interest in becoming a sniper, Tatum walks through the technical demands of a 200-yard rifle shot, including zeroing the rifle, accounting for wind, controlling breathing, and managing trigger pull.

"A random person can't get on there because they saw it on TV... You got to have some training and knowledge about breathing. Two hundred yards, breathing is imperative to make a shot like that," Tatum says. "A random person, in my opinion, is not going to do this. It has to be somebody with some level of skill."

Looking at footage of the rooftop position, Tatum speculates the shooter likely rehearsed beforehand, based on what he describes as a prepared shooting position, though he cautions that some of his observations about the angle of the shot are speculative.

Addressing the Hand Signal Conspiracy

Tatum directly addresses a viral claim that members of Kirk's own security detail used hand signals to cue the shooter.

"Nobody's doing hand signals, man. When you're out there and the sun is beaming on you, I don't know people that won't adjust their hat," Tatum says, identifying the men in the clip as longtime, trusted members of Kirk's team. "These people are willing to die for Charlie... Y'all can't be this stupid, man. If somebody really wanted to do a signal, they're going to do something that people can't identify as a signal."
