Candace Owens Exposed Erika Kirk's Stunning Partnership With Charlie Kirk's Known Adversary Brandy Zadrozny

Candace Owens revealed evidence that Erika Kirk and Turning Point USA collaborated with journalist Brandy Zadrozny on an MSNBC hit piece, despite years of documented animosity between Zadrozny and Charlie Kirk. Owens presented text messages with Don Trump Jr., Tyler Bowyer, and Charlie himself showing Kirk's strong opposition to Zadrozny, whom he considered fundamentally dishonest. The partnership becomes especially questionable given Zadrozny's public support for transitioning children and her commentary published just six days after Kirk's assassination, combined with TPUSA's narrative blaming a trans activist for his death.

The Journalist Charlie Kirk Distrusted

Candace Owens disclosed that she never imagined Turning Point USA would open its doors to journalist Brandy Zadrozny for a 45-minute MSNBC piece. The article, titled "Who Killed Charlie Kirk?" featured Owens' photograph alongside Kirk's, which she argued constitutes defamation per se.

Shortly after Kirk's assassination, Zadrozny contacted Owens, which made her "physically sick" because she knew exactly who Zadrozny was. Owens explained that she and Charlie Kirk had their first encounter with Zadrozny years earlier when they were inexperienced with media. They invited her to dinner in California while she was working for NBC, had what they thought was a positive experience, and then she published a piece that contradicted their interaction entirely. This served as their wake-up call that journalists could be dishonest and focused on smearing them.

Zadrozny continued this pattern throughout the years. Owens stated she has text messages with Don Trump Jr., Tyler Bowyer, and with Charlie Kirk himself about this journalist. "Charlie Kirk did not like this woman," Owens emphasized, making it incomprehensible to her that Zadrozny would have any association with Turning Point USA.

The MSNBC Piece and Owens' Response

When Zadrozny reached out to Owens after Kirk's death, Owens' reaction was to "bark" at her. She assumed Turning Point USA would never work with this woman in the wake of Charlie's assassination. She was stunned to discover they did work with her.

The MSNBC piece featured Owens' response to Zadrozny's interview request. In the video, Zadrozny recounted first meeting Owens in 2018 at Stanford University, where she spoke with Charlie Kirk. Kirk was 24 years old then, had worked social media on Trump's 2016 campaign, and was building Turning Point USA to fight the left on college campuses and recruit young Republicans.

Zadrozny described Kirk as "crisscrossing the country, owning the libs, and building a digital enterprise on the back of its college debate tapes." She noted that Kirk had hired Owens as Turning Point's director of urban engagement, then promoted her to communications manager, describing her as "a sidekick and everything Charlie wasn't. A woman, black, and to Charlie and his roster of old white donors, comparatively cool."

The piece included a note that Owens declined to be interviewed. Zadrozny stated: "When I asked, she sent a statement through a rep. She called me slimy and said it made her skin crawl that I would reach out in the wake of Charlie's assassination."

Zadrozny then showed an out-of-context message and a clip of Charlie Kirk saying Zadrozny was "very smart, a relatively fair person, but she still has that, you know, pepper in her insults." Owens responded that Zadrozny "shows an out-of-context message of me thanking her for after like not including my family members when she was going after them and sending them emails. And then she shows Charlie not complimenting her, just saying she's relatively smart."

Zadrozny's Commentary After Kirk's Death

Owens highlighted what Zadrozny published just six days after Charlie Kirk's assassination. The article stated: "Charlie Kirk trafficked in conspiracy theories. In death, he became the main character in the ultimate one spun by the White House. It's a tactic I imagine Kirk would have approved of. Snarky, mean, soulless." This was published immediately after Kirk had been publicly assassinated.

Owens also pointed to Zadrozny's pandemic-era coverage: "Turning Point USA spent the pandemic flouting public health guidelines, sowing distrust in the election, and bringing the so-called culture wars around CRT and LGBTQ issues off campus and into the mainstream. And what did it get them? A boatload of money."

Given this history, Owens stated she never could have imagined that Erika Kirk would open the doors to Zadrozny after Charlie's assassination.

The Transgender Issue Contradiction

Owens identified a glaring contradiction in TPUSA's strategy. The organization was trying to convince audiences that Charlie Kirk was murdered by a radical leftist over transgender issues, yet Zadrozny is "one of the biggest supporters of transgenderism."

Owens presented evidence of Zadrozny's positions on transgender issues. One tweet read: "Spent weeks talking to doctors who treat trans kids, a vulnerable group of small people at ever more risk now as they're being targeted for cheap political points. Most of the reporting will never see the day because people are afraid. It makes me very sad."

Owens noted that even among people who support transgenderism, most draw the line at transitioning children, but not Zadrozny. She also cited Zadrozny's article about "Doctors providing care" being "under increasing threat from far-right harassment campaigns," and another piece stating "State lawmakers in Oklahoma holding hospitals COVID money hostage unless they strip away health care for trans kids. Why? Because the Unwoke podcast told them to."

"She is radical on the topic of support for transgenderism," Owens concluded. "Naturally, Erika Kirk and Turning Point USA partnered with her anyway out of what we can only assume is their ever-increasing desperation to smear me and all of those who are researching the many flaws in the Charlie Kirk assassination story."

Inside TPUSA Headquarters

In the MSNBC piece, Zadrozny described her access to Turning Point USA: "I asked Turning Point USA for an interview to find out what they were dealing with and what they saw as the path forward. They declined to go on the record, but they invited me to their Phoenix headquarters where I sat down with Erika and other leadership. They spent hours with me. They answered all my questions. What I saw was an organization struggling, struggling to weather a storm that would have been unthinkable a year ago. Struggling to grieve, struggling to navigate near constant threats and harassment, and wondering each day what false storyline Candace Owens will come up with next."

Owens found this collaboration absurd: "Why would they welcome her into the headquarters? Wouldn't they be like, 'You support transgenderism and Charlie Kirk just got killed by a trans furry' and there's no... 'come on in hours.' 'Oh, Candace, you're talking about Candace, that friend of Charlie's. Here's the talking points we want you to share.'"

She argued the strategy backfired because "running to the left doesn't actually work after you spent 11 months accusing them of murdering Charlie. Like I think you just don't switch teams that quickly and expect them to be sympathetic to you."

The PR Disaster

Owens particularly criticized Blake Neff's handling of the situation, stating he has an "ever decreasing social IQ" and "cannot read a room." While TPUSA was claiming a trans furry killed Charlie, Neff thought it was a good idea to promote one of the darker quotations from Zadrozny's piece.

He tweeted a quote from the video: "Tyler Robinson's arrest might have united a MAGA movement that had been tearing itself apart over the Epstein files and the war in Gaza. It might have provided a common enemy, focused on the lefty posters who were joking about Kirk's death or Antifa the Trump administration had blamed for Kirk's murder. It might have if not for Candace Owens."

Owens compared this to "the literal meme of the Scooby-Doo cartoon villain." One observer on X wrote: "And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids." Owens interpreted the statement as "almost like suggesting that Charlie had to die because things were getting crazy. MAGA was upset about the Iranian war and our involvement with Israel, but also Israel's guy Epstein and the files made people dislike Trump. So, Charlie needed to die and our plan was that was going to unite the party against the left and keep them focused on the goals. But Candace ruined that opportunity."

She called it "atrocious PR."

A Viewer's Summary

Owens shared a recap from a viewer who watched the entire piece: "I've watched Brandy Zadrozny's 'Who Killed Charlie Kirk' so that you don't have to. Here's the short version. If you still have questions, you are the problem. According to the film, you are a grifter, a conspiracy theorist, a con artist, or someone unfortunate enough to be adjacent to a kombucha brewer, a Kremlin-loving model, or a far-right lawyer."

The viewer continued: "Now, you might reasonably assume that a film called 'Who Killed Charlie Kirk' would spend a considerable amount of time examining the unresolved questions that have caused millions of people to distrust the official account. But I have unfortunate news. 45 minutes later, we've learned that Candace Owens makes money doing her job, Baron Coleman gets super chats doing his, and Jon Aaron Bray sells kombucha. By the end of 'Who Killed Charlie Kirk,' it feels like a slightly misleading title. 'Who are all these annoying people who keep asking questions' would have been considerably more accurate. We're still asking."

The viewer concluded with a pointed message to Andrew Kolvet: "I previously thought that you were terrible at PR, but watching Brandy spend 45 minutes ridiculing the very people that TPUSA presumably wants to convince has made me realize that I dramatically underestimated you. You are spectacularly terrible at PR."

Final Assessment

Owens expressed disbelief at the PR strategy: "It is something how bad he is at PR. It is something to be noticed. A sight to behold is Andrew Kolvet and Erika Kirk sitting in there going, 'This is going to be good for PR. No, this is going to be great. We're going to team up with a trans-loving reporter, and we're going to have her call everybody who they should be convincing to join their side a conspiracy theorist or like in support of the Kremlin or wacky. And that's really going to turn people toward us. They're not going to think that we're total frauds.'"

She questioned who was behind these PR decisions: "Is it just Andrew? Is it a crisis PR team? I don't know. But people should probably be fired over it. And they probably won't be."
