Candace Owens on Theo Von's Viral Moment Speaking Truth About Israel and the Price of Free Speech

March 18, 2026

Candace Owens highlights comedian Theo Von's viral moment where he spoke from the heart about America's relationship with Israel's government, calling the Gaza situation "satanic" and expressing concern for future generations. Owens connects Von's bravery to the broader pattern of harassment, censorship, and career destruction faced by those who question Israel's actions, citing examples including Megyn Kelly, Charlie Kirk, and Johnny Yapp of Catholics for Catholics. She emphasizes how speaking truth comes at a cost but inspires others to stand firm despite the consequences.

Theo Von's Heartfelt Viral Statement on Israel

Candace Owens brings attention to comedian Theo Von's powerful and sincere commentary on America's relationship with Israel that went viral. Von, who doesn't claim to be a foreign policy expert, spoke from his heart about what he observes happening in Gaza. Owens notes that Von was actually early in speaking out, saying he didn't know much but that what he saw happening in Gaza "feels really wrong." For this, he faced attacks from what Owens describes as "the same bandit of Zionists" who questioned how he dared to have feelings about children in Gaza.

Owens emphasizes that Von's effectiveness comes precisely from the fact that he isn't presenting himself as an expert or trying to appear genius. His words carry weight because they come genuinely from his heart. Von shared his unfiltered perspective on Israel and the ongoing conflict, and Owens wanted her audience to hear his full statement.

Theo Von's Full Statement

In the viral clip, Von expressed deep discomfort about America's relationship with Israel, specifically with Israeli political leaders. He stated: "I just I believe that that group is it is it just feels like a satanic regime. It doesn't seem like it feels like they just want to cause pain."

Von continued by pointing out that Israeli forces don't even know where all the bodies from Gaza are, yet they've already moved on to attacking other places, and America is now associated with those attacks. He expressed his belief that this violence will eventually come to America, saying he doesn't believe Israeli leaders have any intention to stop or any care for the American people. He's never heard such care expressed.

Von delivered a warning about the future: "I believe that if we don't speak up now that our children won't have the chance to speak up. Either by law or by worse." He acknowledged that this might sound crazy to some people, and said that's okay if they disagree. He emphasized that he worked hard to have a voice for himself and hopes people will at least respect or recognize that he's trying to say what he wants to say.

The comedian expressed his confusion about the government's relationship with Israel's leaders and government. He described feeling like there's a war machine, with American soldiers put into spaces just to serve an America they believe in, which he clarified was no knock against the soldiers themselves. He said it just feels like it's causing a lot of pain and fear.

Von concluded by saying he doesn't understand Trump's relationship or why American politics is so beholden to the Israeli government, which "just seems to be obsessed with control." He described it as feeling like "bloodlust," saying "they just like it's not enough." After what happened in Gaza, he doesn't see how there could be any other view.

Candace Owens' Response and Personal Connection

Owens expressed her love for Theo Von's statement, highlighting the sincerity in his voice compared to the propaganda being disseminated. She echoed his sentiments, saying she doesn't know how people can look at what happened in Gaza and believe it's godly, prophecy, or anything other than exactly what Von described as satanic.

Owens emphasized the importance of having a spiritual reaction that lets you know something isn't right. She particularly noted Von's use of the word "control" and his concern that if he doesn't use his platform now, future generations, including his children, won't have the opportunity. This resonated deeply with Owens, who said that's exactly how she felt and continues to feel every day.

The Price of Speaking Out: Examples of Harassment and Censorship

Owens then shared examples of what happens to those who speak out against Israel's actions in Gaza. She mentioned Johnny Yapp of Catholics for Catholics, describing the pain and harassment he has endured. Owens clarified that she's just a speaker and not otherwise involved with the organization, but wanted to illuminate what they've put Yapp through.

According to Owens, the harassment stems from the fact that "you're not allowed to have an event if it's with somebody that doesn't support mass murder in Gaza." She emphasized that the conference has no political theme whatsoever, and her speech is about Mary and is a prayer for America.

Owens questioned why they're not allowed to meet, have perspective, have jobs, or exist without being harassed. She listed the tactics used against dissenters:

  • Calling advertisers to pressure them
  • Censorship from YouTube
  • Smearing and libeling in the media

She pointed to what's currently happening to Megyn Kelly as another example, asking what crime Kelly committed that caused such a reaction other than simply telling the truth. Owens compared Kelly's situation to what Charlie Kirk went through, describing it as the same pattern of attack.

Regarding Johnny Yapp, Owens described him as "just such a good person" who simply wants to have a prayer event with Catholics, yet he's being harassed. Through prayer, he's standing strong. Owens noted that seeing so many people go through this lets you know you're not alone, and that bravery inspires bravery.

Finding Strength in Community and Faith

Owens shared that even when she's feeling down, she goes through comments from her supporters, saying they crack her up and lift her spirits. She described it as a mutual fight: "this person, like they're fighting for me. I'm fighting for them."

She concluded with a confident declaration that truth is going to win, adding "By the way, it's already been decided. We are going to win." Owens suggested that those opposing free speech are growing more increasingly radical in their demands because "they know Christ is king."

[00:00] I'm not sure if you saw this going

[00:01] viral. It is amazing. Theo Von

[00:04] He is a comedian and but he sits down

[00:06] and he just shares his heart um

[00:08] sometimes on various topics of politics.

[00:11] He was actually really early to saying,

[00:13] "Look, I know I don't know a lot. I'm

[00:15] not claiming to be some foreign policy

[00:17] expert, but what I see happening in Gaza

[00:19] feels really wrong." Like he said that

[00:22] and he was attacked for that and by the

[00:24] you know, the same bandit of Zionists

[00:27] because how dare you have a feeling

[00:29] about a child in Gaza. And it there is

[00:32] something that I feel is uh so

[00:34] especially effective when you hear Theo

[00:37] Von speak because he isn't an expert

[00:39] because he's not trying to be a genius

[00:41] and it really is coming from his heart

[00:44] and he shared some choice words

[00:46] regarding um Israel and the war that's

[00:49] happening and I wanted you guys to hear

[00:51] him and hit and its entirety. Take a

[00:53] listen.

[00:54] But I do have a lot of uncomfort about

[00:56] America's relationship with Israel.

[00:58] Uh the Israeli political leaders, that's

[01:00] what I mean.

[01:02] Um

[01:03] I just I believe that that group is

[01:08] it is

[01:11] it just feels like a satanic

[01:15] regime. It doesn't seem like it feels

[01:17] like they just

[01:19] want to cause pain.

[01:22] They just I mean

[01:23] the you know, these

[01:26] they don't even know where all the

[01:27] bodies from Gaza are and

[01:30] they're already moved on to other places

[01:33] that they are

[01:34] um attacking and that America's

[01:36] associated now with their attacks.

[01:39] Um

[01:41] And I don't I I believe that that will

[01:43] come here one day. I don't believe that

[01:47] uh

[01:47] that the Israeli leaders that they have

[01:49] any intention to

[01:52] to stop that. I don't see that they

[01:56] have any care for the American people.

[01:58] It doesn't seem like that. I've never

[02:00] heard that spoken.

[02:02] Um

[02:05] And I believe that if we don't speak up

[02:06] now

[02:08] that our children won't have the chance

[02:09] to speak up.

[02:11] >> [clears throat]

[02:11] >> Either by law

[02:14] or by worse.

[02:16] And that may sound crazy to some people

[02:17] and that's fine if it does. If it does

[02:19] sound crazy to you and you think I'm

[02:20] crazy on that point of view, that's

[02:21] okay. I don't um

[02:25] you know, I may disagree with you, but

[02:26] that's okay.

[02:28] You know, I do want to you know, I

[02:30] worked hard to be able to have a voice

[02:31] for myself.

[02:33] And so I hope at least you just respect

[02:35] that.

[02:36] Uh

[02:37] or or I hope at least you just see that.

[02:40] Like

[02:41] at least I'm trying to say what I want

[02:43] to say.

[02:45] Um

[02:47] and I don't understand our government's

[02:48] relationship with Israel's leaders and

[02:51] with Israel's government. I don't

[02:52] understand it.

[02:54] You know, I just It feels like there's

[02:55] this war machine and and then our

[02:58] soldiers and are put into these spaces

[03:01] and they're just there to serve an

[03:02] America that they believe in.

[03:04] Um

[03:06] and

[03:07] it's no knock against them or anything

[03:09] like that. It's just

[03:11] I just don't I just It just feels like

[03:12] it's causing a lot of

[03:14] pain and fear.

[03:16] And yeah, I don't understand our our our

[03:20] uh I don't understand Trump's

[03:22] relationship. I don't understand the our

[03:24] political like why we are so beholden to

[03:28] these to this government, this Israeli

[03:31] government that that just seems to be

[03:33] obsessed with

[03:35] uh

[03:37] control.

[03:40] And it feels like

[03:43] like bloodlust. Like they just like

[03:46] it's not enough. Like after what

[03:48] happened in Gaza, I don't see to me I I

[03:50] see I don't see how there could be any

[03:52] other view.

[03:55] Like I just I love Theo Von for that and

[03:59] you can just hear the sincerity in his

[04:01] voice versus the propaganda that they're

[04:03] giving us. I I feel the same way. I

[04:05] don't know how people can look at what

[04:07] they did in Gaza and believe that that's

[04:11] godly, that it's prophecy, that it is

[04:15] anything but exactly what Theo says. It

[04:18] just feels satanic. Like you should just

[04:21] be able to spiritually have a reaction

[04:24] that lets you know that something's not

[04:25] right. And he uses such a choice word

[04:28] there when he says it's about control. I

[04:29] don't know if our kids will have the

[04:31] opportunity if I don't use my platform.

[04:33] That's how I felt. It is how I feel

[04:36] every day.

[04:37] Again telling you if if I

[04:39] I will illuminate for you like what they

[04:41] have put Poor Johnny up the Catholics

[04:44] for Catholics. I'm literally just a

[04:45] speaker. I'm not involved this

[04:47] organization otherwise, but the pain

[04:49] that they have put him through, the

[04:51] harassment that they have gone through

[04:53] because you're not allowed to have an

[04:56] event if it's with somebody that doesn't

[04:59] support mass murder in Gaza. Like you're

[05:01] not allowed to do that. And it like I

[05:03] said, there's no political theme of this

[05:06] conference at all.

[05:08] My speech is about Mary. It is a prayer

[05:13] for America. It is a prayer. So I don't

[05:17] know why we're not allowed to meet, why

[05:19] we're not allowed to have perspective,

[05:20] why we're not allowed to have jobs, why

[05:21] we have to be harassed, why our

[05:23] advertisers have to be called, why we

[05:25] have to be censored from YouTube, why

[05:28] they have to

[05:29] smear us and libel us. I mean, look at

[05:31] what they are doing to Megyn Kelly right

[05:33] now, right?

[05:35] What what what did Megyn Kelly do? I

[05:36] can't figure out what her crime was

[05:40] that caused this reaction other than she

[05:43] simply told the truth. That what she is

[05:45] going through right now

[05:47] is what Charlie was going through in the

[05:48] end. Okay? That is what Charlie Kirk was

[05:50] going through. It is what Johnny Yapp is

[05:52] getting a very small taste of. Like he's

[05:54] just like, "Hey, I just want to have an

[05:56] event at a prayer with Catholics." And

[05:58] they are harassing him in a way and he's

[06:01] just such a good person

[06:03] and through a lot of prayer is just

[06:05] standing strong and I guess just knowing

[06:08] that to see so many people going through

[06:09] it lets you know that you're not alone.

[06:11] And like I said, bravery inspires

[06:12] bravery.

[06:13] And I

[06:15] even if I'm feeling like down, I will go

[06:18] through and I will see you guys'

[06:19] comments. You guys crack me up in the

[06:21] comment section. I'm like, "No, no, no,

[06:22] like this person, like they're fighting

[06:24] for me. I'm fighting for them."

[06:26] And truth is going to win. That's By the

[06:27] way, it's already been decided. We are

[06:29] going to win and they're growing more

[06:31] increasingly radical in their demands

[06:32] because they know Christ is king.
