Candace Owens Refuses to Blame the Left for Charlie Kirk's Assassination, Assigns Homework to Hasan Piker

Candace Owens responds to accusations that she undermined conservative efforts to blame the left for Charlie Kirk's assassination. She explains why she pursued the truth about Kirk's death regardless of political implications, refuses to accept federal narratives without evidence, and challenges Hasan Piker and the left to reexamine January 6th with the same skepticism. Owens argues both sides are manipulated by a powerful minority seeking to control citizens through manufactured crises, and she won't become a partisan cheerleader when the facts don't support the narrative being pushed.

Rejecting Political Narratives in Charlie Kirk's Death

Candace Owens addressed recent criticism from both political sides regarding her investigation into Charlie Kirk's assassination on September 10, 2025. Conservative commentator Blake Neff accused Owens of helping the left by questioning the official narrative that Kirk was killed by a leftist motivated by LGBTQ issues. Meanwhile, left-wing streamer Hasan Piker praised Owens as a "queen" for allegedly undermining Republican efforts to use Kirk's death as a rallying cry against the radical left.

Owens rejected both characterizations. She explained that her investigation was not conducted for either political side but simply to find the truth about what happened to her friend Charlie Kirk. She stated clearly that if she were convinced Kirk's death was truly motivated by LGBTQ activism, she would be the loudest voice condemning it. However, the evidence she uncovered led her to question whether federal agencies might have been involved instead.

Hassan Piker's Response and Owens' Reaction

In a clip Owens shared, Hasan Piker acknowledged that Owens had blocked him years ago but praised her recent work. Piker stated: "I can't speak out against this queen because this is a queen that successfully and single-handedly undermined the Republican initiative to martyrize Charlie Kirk and use that example to crack down on political dissent. She dropped a grenade on the discourse."

Piker admitted his "brain says, 'No, it's probably Tyler Robinson,'" referring to the official suspect, "but my heart says, 'Go Candace, go. Keep cooking.'" He celebrated that Owens had prevented what he saw as a Republican effort to use Kirk's death as justification for targeting the left.

Owens responded by pointing out the absurdity of conservatives trying to portray her as allied with Piker when he openly stated she had blocked him years ago. She explained that the real issue was that establishment Republicans wanted to "pin this on the left, however wrongly" to create unity and momentum for political purposes, regardless of whether the left was actually responsible.

Republicans Fractured Over Truth vs. Political Expediency

Owens argued that Republicans had become fractured because many conservatives refused to ignore serious issues like the Jeffrey Epstein files just to maintain political unity. She recalled how the Republican establishment pushed messaging like "get focused, midterms are around the corner, ignore the Epstein files," but many on the right refused to comply.

"We said no, we are not going to ignore children being harmed," Owens explained. "We're not going to see ourselves as just Trump supporters who should be supporting him no matter what." She noted that even Trump's running mate JD Vance and his administration had campaigned on releasing the Epstein files, which mattered deeply to conservatives concerned about child trafficking.

According to Owens, the criticism she faced essentially boiled down to: "You ruined an opportunity to, however wrongly, have us unite around Charlie's death and stomp out the left for something that they didn't actually do." She rejected this approach entirely, insisting that pursuing truth was more important than political expediency.

A Message to the Left: Homework on January 6th

Owens then issued what she called "homework" to Hasan Piker and others on the left. She challenged them to "look into what actually happened on January 6th" with the same skeptical eye she applied to Charlie Kirk's assassination.

"You took the bait. The left took the bait," Owens told Piker. She acknowledged that in 2020, when the January 6th Capitol incident occurred, "we were all more divided" and "none of us were willing to take a look at the facts." She included herself in that criticism, admitting she too had been caught up in partisan thinking at the time.

Owens argued that as more information has emerged about January 6th, it has become clear that the event was "without question an opportunity for us to look up and see who rules over us and who benefits from that." She maintained that people were wrongly arrested, particularly those who were encouraged to enter the Capitol that day.

She suggested both events — January 6th and Charlie Kirk's assassination — fit a pattern where "a minority, a very powerful minority who doesn't actually care about left or right" orchestrates events to "seize power from citizens full stop by allowing something terrible to take place and then saying here's what we must get done and here's what we must pass." She compared this to the post-9/11 response, suggesting a similar dynamic of manufactured crisis leading to expanded government power.

Refusing to Be a Partisan Cheerleader

Owens made clear she would not become a "cheerleader for the right" when she knew they were "engaged in something very wrong." She stated: "I'm not just going to become a cheerleader for the right and know that they are engaged in something very wrong and say, 'Well, it's okay because at least they vote Republican at the end of the day.' That's nonsense."

She emphasized that when the left does "something radical and wrong," she has no problem using her platform to call them out and would "do that tomorrow if that is the circumstance." However, she refused to falsely blame them for Charlie Kirk's death if the evidence didn't support that conclusion.

Owens expressed particular concern about what she sees as federal government deception. "I feel the federal government is lying to us and I refuse to accept that it is my duty to blame it on the left if the left didn't do it," she said. Her investigation suggested federal involvement, and she felt morally obligated to follow the evidence wherever it led.

A Uniter in Death

Reflecting on the strange political moment, Owens noted with irony that Charlie Kirk had become "a uniter" in death, though not in the way anyone would have expected. "I don't think anybody would have thought that Charlie Kirk would be a uniter. Certainly not me," she said, referencing their shared history as staunch conservatives and Republicans.

Owens stated she remains "conservative" but has "issues with calling myself Republican." She explained: "I just don't care about politics because watching Republicans get behind this absolutely sloppy narrative and trying to force feed it upon us makes me sick."

She concluded by expressing her belief that "there is Satanism on both sides, Democrats and Republican, a minor few who rule over us and just constantly feed us slop" in the form of manufactured outrage designed to keep Americans divided. She called on people from both political perspectives to "raise ourselves above that sort of discourse in the future."

Ultimately, Owens rejected being called anyone's "hero" or "queen." She identified herself simply as "somebody who cares deeply about what happened on September 10th because my friend was killed and I have the sense that we are being lied to about it." That personal commitment to finding the truth about Charlie Kirk's death, regardless of political consequences, remained her primary motivation.
