Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens on Fighting Socialism: Why America Must Not Become Europe

Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens address conservative students and Montanans about the fight against socialism spreading across America. Drawing stark contrasts between American capitalism and European decline, they discuss the migrant crisis, economic prosperity through free markets, and why the left's failed policies are spreading from coastal states into places like Montana. Kirk emphasizes the importance of protecting American values and preventing the nation from following Europe's path, while Owens shares insights from her time in the UK and warns about globalist threats to Western civilization.

Surviving as a Conservative Student in Today's Universities

When asked about surviving as a conservative student in an increasingly leftist academic environment, Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk didn't mince words about the state of socialism's spread—not just in universities, but across the Western world. The discussion quickly turned to Europe as a cautionary tale for America's future.

Europe's Decline: A Warning for America

Candace Owens pointed to Europe's ongoing crisis as a clear example of what America must avoid. "Everyone knows what's going on in Europe—it's a complete disaster," Owens stated. "They've got so many things going on on top of that, the migrant crisis and having to take care of a bunch of people that are flooding into their borders. This is why they're sort of looking to America as the last stand for Western civilization, so we have to be that."

Owens, who spends considerable time in the United Kingdom due to her engagement to a British citizen, keeps close tabs on conditions across the Atlantic. She proudly noted her pro-Brexit stance while discussing the deteriorating situation in European nations. The migrant crisis, she suggested, has become a defining issue that European leaders have failed to address effectively.

The Migrant Crisis and Its Consequences

The conversation touched on recent events, with Owens suggesting that the migrant crisis may be connected to arson incidents, though she acknowledged that facts would need to emerge. "Not enough people are talking about the migrant crisis and what's going on in Europe," she emphasized, highlighting what she sees as media reluctance to address the issue head-on.

Why America Fights Against Socialism

Both speakers made clear that their opposition to socialism stems from a fundamental belief in economic prosperity through free markets and capitalism. "We don't want America to become what Europe has become," Owens declared. "We truly believe in economic prosperity which comes from free markets and capitalism and protecting that against globalists and people that are pushing for socialism."

The contrast is stark in their view: "People are not fleeing America to go to Venezuela, that's for sure," Owens noted, underlining the fundamental difference between capitalist success and socialist failure. "We really do believe that America is the greatest country in the world."

The Battle Coming to Montana

Charlie Kirk turned his attention to the specific challenges facing Montana, warning that the state faces an influx of problematic ideologies from failing coastal areas. "Make no mistake, the left that you see on television is growing here in this very state," Kirk cautioned. "People from successful states—I mean not successful states—are bringing their bad ideas with them here to Montana. They're bringing the failures of Washington and Oregon and California to this state, and then they're trying to impose those values here."

Kirk praised the state's congressional delegation, specifically thanking Congressman Greg Gianforte and Senator Steve Daines for their daily fights in Washington, DC. He emphasized Montana's unique position in American politics through the Electoral College system, which "gives this state a voice and gives this state a reason to continue to be visited."

Preserving the Montana Code of the West

The importance of continuing educational events and protecting Montana's distinct culture became a central theme. Kirk stressed the need to "educate people around the free enterprise system and the values that are embedded in this Montana code of the West culture." The implication was clear: Montana represents something worth preserving, a piece of authentic American culture that stands in opposition to the creeping socialism from coastal urban centers.

President Trump's Promise

Kirk and Owens concluded by invoking President Donald Trump's declaration that "America will never be a socialist country." For them, this isn't just a political slogan but a mission statement. "We hope that's true because we want to fight for it," they affirmed, making clear that their activism stems from a genuine belief that America's capitalist system and constitutional values are under threat from socialist ideology.

The message to conservative students and all Americans was unmistakable: the fight against socialism requires constant vigilance, education, and activism to prevent America from following Europe's troubled path.
