Charlie Kirk and Lance Wallnau on Project 81, Christian Nationalism Attacks, and the Battle for Seven Swing States

Charlie Kirk joins Lance Wallnau to discuss Turning Point Action's Project 81 strategy to secure over 81% of the Evangelical vote in seven swing states and 19 critical counties. Kirk exposes the coordinated effort by Russell Moore, David French, and Rob Reiner to keep Christians out of politics through their Christian nationalism narrative. From discussing Rick Warren's contradictions to analyzing the left's takeover of the Seven Mountains of culture, this conversation reveals why the church can no longer stay neutral when Democrat Party policies on abortion, transgenderism, and parental rights directly violate biblical principles. Kirk also warns of potential surprises ahead, recalling the surreal moment at Mar-a-Lago just before COVID-19 changed everything in 2020.

Project 81: The Strategy to Save America Through Evangelical Voter Mobilization

Charlie Kirk opens the conversation by emphasizing the critical nature of the upcoming election. With seven swing states and 19 key counties identified as the battleground for America's future, Kirk's Turning Point Action is partnering with Lance Wallnau's Courage Tour to mobilize Christian voters. The strategy is simple but powerful: if Donald Trump can exceed the 81% Evangelical vote he received in 2016, the path to victory becomes nearly insurmountable.

Kirk explains that in 2020, Trump won 77% of the Evangelical vote despite higher overall turnout. The left understands that even a three to four point dip in Evangelical support in states like Georgia, Wisconsin, and Arizona could hand them the White House. That's why organizations are now targeting these specific regions where low-propensity Christian voters—those most affected by voices telling them to stay out of politics—need to be awakened.

The Courage Tour, featuring Kirk and Wallnau, will travel to all seven swing states, with confirmed dates for Arizona (April 21-24) and Georgia (April 11-13), with Michigan and other states to follow. The mission is clear: bring the gospel and political engagement directly to the 19 counties that will determine America's future.

The Coordinated Attack on Christian Political Engagement

Kirk identifies a deliberate operation being conducted through multiple channels to discourage Christian involvement in politics. From Tim Alberta's book "The Kingdom, the Power and the Glory" to Rob Reiner's failed documentary about Christian nationalism, to the constant media drumbeat labeling faithful Christians as extremists, there's a coordinated effort to paint Christian patriots as radicals when they simply want constitutional restoration.

Russell Moore emerges as a central figure in this discussion. Kirk notes that Moore, who now influences Christianity Today—Billy Graham's former publication—has become the go-to person for the left when they want to criticize conservative Christians. Moore provides intellectual and theological backing for campaigns like the "He Gets Us" advertisements and promotes what Kirk describes as "Christian indifference" or "fake Christian neutrality."

Kirk contrasts this with Billy Graham's actual legacy. He points to Graham's lesser-known sermon "Communism: Satan's Religion," where Graham declared that Christianity and communism cannot coexist and that communism must be defeated for Christianity to survive in America. This was the foundation of Graham's ministry that helped spark a Great Awakening following World War II.

Rick Warren also comes under scrutiny for his contradictions. Kirk recounts a heated text exchange after Warren used Tim Keller's eulogy to praise Keller for refusing to engage in politics and culture wars—while Warren himself was posting political content. Wallnau points out that Warren marched with Black Lives Matter but won't show up at MAGA rallies or join the Courage Tour, exposing the selective political engagement these leaders practice while telling others to stay out of politics.

Reframing the Seven Mountains: How the Left Conquered America

Wallnau introduces a strategic reframing of the Seven Mountains concept. Rather than presenting it as a theological formula for Christian cultural engagement—which triggers accusations of dominionism—he now presents the Seven Mountains as a blueprint for how the left systematically took over America.

He maps out how the left has captured and weaponized each mountain: education indoctrinating children, corporations advancing woke ideology, media controlling narratives, arts and entertainment shaping values, science and technology colluding with Big Tech for censorship, and government weaponizing the State Department and intelligence community. The Seven Mountains framework becomes a diagnostic tool showing how America has been dismantled from within.

The message shifts from "Christians should dominate these spheres" to "Christians better show up in the cockpit or they'll crash this plane." This reframing answers the Christian nationalism critique by showing that the real dominionists are those who have already captured these cultural institutions and are using them to transform America away from its founding principles.

Biblical Law Versus Democrat Party Platform

Kirk issues a direct challenge: there is not a single biblical issue guided by God's law that the Democrat Party platform embraces. He invites anyone to prove him wrong, but the evidence is stark:

  • Which party protects children from medical mutilation? Republicans
  • Which party is pro-life? Republicans
  • Which party supports border security? Republicans
  • Which party believes churches should never be deemed non-essential? Republicans
  • Which party believes God created male and female? Republicans

Wallnau shares insight from a guest on Glenn Beck who explained the devil's strategy: taking moral issues like abortion, gender ideology, sexuality, border security, and national debt, and moving them from the moral category into the political category by making them Democrat Party platform planks. Once they became "political," Pavlovian conditioning in the pulpit kicks in—if it's political, don't address it, just preach the Word and the Kingdom.

This brilliant strategy has neutered the church on the very moral issues where cultural clarity is most needed. Issues that demand prophetic voice are now avoided because they've been labeled political rather than moral.

The Ten Commandments Test

Kirk applies the decalogue—the Ten Commandments—as a measuring standard. The Democrat Party actively violates several commandments just by its existence. Honor your father and mother? The entire Democrat platform opposes parental rights and strong parent-child relationships. You shall not murder? Abortion up to the ninth month. You shall not covet? The entire platform is based on greed and coveting what others have earned.

Wallnau shares a current example from Colorado where teachers bring activists into art clubs and "Skittles classes" to get 11 and 12-year-olds to question if they're in the right body, introduce them to gender fluidity, give them rainbow wristbands marking them as "queer," and instruct them not to tell their parents because parents can't be trusted. When parents organized ballot initiatives to protect their children, the Democrat-controlled title board refused to let them proceed.

This level of sophisticated, intentional suppression of parental rights at the local level reveals the threat another four years would bring. The stakes couldn't be higher.

The Mar-a-Lago Warning: Expect the Unexpected

Kirk shares a haunting memory from February 2020—what he calls "the last celebration before COVID." He was at Mar-a-Lago for the launch of his bestselling book "The MAGA Doctrine." The evening was written up in both the New York Times and Washington Post because of the high-stakes atmosphere.

Donald Trump sat with Jair Bolsonaro at one table. Mike Pence walked through looking somber. Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle were there, as were Jared Kushner and Ivanka. Tucker Carlson came specifically to warn Trump that COVID would be the big surprise of 2020. The mood was triumphant—the economy was roaring, Trump was up double digits in the polls, the border was secure, there were no new wars. Trump seemed like an unstoppable political force.

Kirk remembers waking up at 5 a.m. the next morning to fly to Los Angeles, seeing Apple News alert after alert about COVID. Within a week they were locked down. Within two weeks came "15 days to slow the spread." Within a month, mass mail-in balloting was being implemented. Everything changed overnight.

He tells this story as a warning: as good as things look now for the conservative movement—with momentum building, the movement ascendant and increasingly popular, Biden's weakness obvious, and third-party candidates hurting Democrats more than Republicans—the current circumstances will not stand between now and November. There will be a surprise, an asymmetrical attack, an information warfare operation, something that comes out of nowhere.

Kirk doesn't speculate on specifics—grid failure, Disease X, some new third-party development—but he's confident that the powers opposing this movement will not accept the current trajectory. His advice: buckle up, stay prayerful, remain vigilant, stay humble, and run through the finish line to November. Be ready for whatever they have planned.

The Neutrality Trap: Why Pastors Must Choose

Wallnau addresses the false equivalence many pastors make—that Democrats are over here, Republicans are over here, both parties are flawed, and the Christian's job is to love everyone equally while staying neutral. He makes a critical distinction: Jesus loves Democrats and Republicans equally, and He loves all people equally. But political platforms are based on policies, and if the policy is slavery or killing Jews, it's an evil platform.

Christians have a moral obligation not to be sycophants for any politician, but to be voices against policies and platforms that are dangerous. To be neutral when slavery is on the table will be an embarrassment after the Civil War is over. That's exactly where many pastors find themselves now—at a moment requiring the moral clarity of the abolition movement or the resistance to Hitler, yet they're staying neutral because they've been conditioned to think that's the spiritual position.

Looking at the Democrat platform through the lens of reality—transgender mutilation of children, abortion through the ninth month, parents having their children taken from them by the state—these are not issues where neutrality is an option. The culture being formed demands the church speak with prophetic clarity.

Turning Point Faith: Equipping Pastors for This Moment

Kirk concludes by highlighting the resources available through Turning Point Faith, which is dedicated to equipping pastors who understand the times. The organization recently gathered 19,000 pastors through the Strong Church tour and continues to provide resources for those ready to lead their congregations into cultural engagement.

One key resource is a nationwide screening of "The Letter to the American Church," produced by Turning Point Faith in partnership with Eric Metaxas. The film and accompanying materials give pastors both the theological framework and practical tools to help their churches understand why Christian citizenship is not optional in this moment.

Kirk emphasizes that there are many good pastors who want to lead faithfully but need support and community. Turning Point Faith exists to provide that network and those resources, ensuring that the pastors who are ready to stand don't stand alone.

The message is clear: the church's response in this season will either be remembered as a moment of courageous engagement that helped save the nation, or as a tragic failure of nerve when everything was on the line. With seven states, 19 counties, and Project 81 as the roadmap, Kirk and Wallnau are calling the church to action before it's too late.
