Charlie Kirk Defends Israel's Border Response and Challenges Palestinian Authority Funding Incentives

May 18, 2018

Charlie Kirk addresses the international response to border clashes in Israel, arguing that sovereign nations have the right to defend their borders with necessary force. Kirk shifts focus to what he sees as the real issue: the Palestinian Authority's use of foreign aid, including U.S. tax dollars, to subsidize families of those who engage in violence at the border. He challenges the media narrative that blames America for moving its embassy to Jerusalem and questions why conversations consistently criticize Western nations and Israel while ignoring what he describes as financial incentives for dangerous behavior at the border.

The Right to Defend Sovereign Borders

Charlie Kirk addresses the international blame game surrounding border incidents in Israel, framing the issue around national sovereignty and self-defense. Kirk employs a straightforward analogy: "If you don't want to get burnt, don't touch the stove." He argues that when people charge a fortified border, they understand the consequences of their actions.

Kirk asserts that Israel, like any sovereign nation, has the inherent right to defend its borders and can use whatever force it deems necessary to do so. He emphasizes that the IDF is simply doing its job, and that every person who charged the fence knew exactly what would happen to them.

The Financial Incentive Structure

Kirk shifts the conversation to what he views as the underlying issue that receives insufficient attention: the financial incentives provided by the Palestinian Authority. He points out that the families of those who die at the border will receive checks from the Palestinian Authority, a system he describes as subsidizing and encouraging dangerous behavior.

According to Kirk, this payment system is funded through hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign aid. He challenges the logic of this arrangement, arguing that if society wants to stop bad behavior, it must stop funding that behavior. Kirk expresses frustration that U.S. tax dollars contribute to what he characterizes as incentivizing "ridiculous terroristic behavior" at Israel's border.

Media Narrative and Political Subtext

Kirk criticizes what he sees as the international media's attempt to blame America for the situation. He identifies a subtext in media coverage suggesting that recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's rightful capital and moving the U.S. embassy there is somehow responsible for the violence. Kirk frames this as part of a larger narrative against the duly elected president and his administration, both domestically and internationally.

He challenges why the conversation consistently targets the West, America, and Israel, while ignoring the financial mechanisms that he believes encourage the behavior at the border. Kirk questions the imbalance in media focus and public discourse on these incidents.

Addressing National Identity Questions

Kirk responds to arguments about Palestinian national identity by questioning the historical basis of Palestinian identity itself. He notes that the term "Palestine" is derived from a Roman name and suggests that many Palestinians are actually "Western Jordanian refugees."

When challenged about whether those at the border are rioters, protesters, or attackers, Kirk maintains they are being paid and subsidized by the Palestinian Authority through foreign dollars. He reiterates his central point that U.S. tax dollars should not be funding what he views as people willingly putting themselves in harm's way because their families will receive payments afterward.

[00:00] we're seeing this blame game and all

[00:01] over the world basically what let's

[00:03] let's get down to the essence but was

[00:05] this an ovary usage of live ammunition

[00:09] if you don't want to get burnt don't

[00:10] touch the stove I mean what you're

[00:12] charging the board you know what's gonna

[00:13] happen

[00:13] Israel has the right to deform to fund

[00:15] its borders any sovereign nation does

[00:17] and they can use it or force they deem

[00:19] necessary but I understand here within

[00:21] the conversation it's no one's talking

[00:22] about how the Palestinian Authority

[00:24] subsidizes and encourages behavior I

[00:26] mean every single one of these victims

[00:27] their families are gonna receive checks

[00:29] now the end that's subsidized through

[00:31] hundreds of millions of dollars of

[00:32] foreign aids and you exactly don't

[00:34] invent certain set of eyes on bad

[00:36] behavior

[00:36] so if you want to stop getting bad

[00:38] behavior stop funding that behavior now

[00:40] look the IDF is doing their job and

[00:41] every single person every single one of

[00:43] those terrorists that charge the fence

[00:44] they knew exactly what's gonna happen to

[00:46] them and it's immoral and evil to use

[00:47] human and women is like the subtext of

[00:50] what the National the international

[00:51] media is trying to paint is that this is

[00:53] somehow America's fault for recognizing

[00:55] the rightful capital of Israel and the

[00:57] subtext this coincides directly with the

[01:00] moving of the u.s. embassy this is just

[01:01] a continuation of a narrative against

[01:03] our duly elected president and his

[01:05] administration what he's trying to do

[01:06] both domestically internationally and

[01:08] I'm challenged to understand why the

[01:11] conversation always goes against the

[01:12] West against America against Israel

[01:14] where again there's hundreds of millions

[01:16] of dollars that are incentivizing this

[01:17] sort of behavior and no one wants to

[01:19] talk about that no one's talking about

[01:20] how the Palestinian Authority continues

[01:23] to incentivize this sort of a behavior

[01:25] finally the quicklinks protesters their

[01:26] attackers the Palestinians are the only

[01:29] is the only national group that is

[01:30] deprived perhaps with the Kurds deprived

[01:33] from its national identity right and

[01:35] they strive for it and we as Jews as

[01:38] Zionists should understand that the

[01:40] solution for Israel is their Palestine

[01:44] is derived from a Roman name what was

[01:46] our national identity talking about most

[01:48] of them are Western Jordanian refugees

[01:50] what national identity is Palestine it's

[01:52] what is national identity is what a

[01:54] group of people actually go beliefs

[01:56] today that's

[02:10] accepting contradictions are they

[02:12] writers or protester attackers and there

[02:14] having paid to do so they're being

[02:16] subsidized and encouraged by the

[02:17] Palestinian Authority through foreign

[02:19] dollars but US tax dollars should be my

[02:22] tax dollars for the United States

[02:24] willingly went to kill themselves just

[02:26] because they're gonna get their families

[02:27] are gonna get their baby their behavior

[02:29] is advised by our salary my US tax

[02:31] dollars are going here to incentivize

[02:33] this sort of ridiculous terroristic

[02:35] behavior on your border kitchen
