ladies and gentlemen welcome my brother from another mother Nim black hey bro we we talked a lot we you were on my radio show we did a video way back when uh where we did kind of like an interview and it is my pleasure to have an opportunity to talk to you once again especially with what's going on in Israel and right you you've been living there for how long I've been living here a little over seven years now yeah seven years so you're and and I based on my five two weeks living there I feel like I had so much information visibly seeing what goes on in Israel separation between the Israelis and Palestinians even we went you know further south to the Dead Sea and so just being there seeing it with my own eyes having the tour God explain a lot of things helped me put Israel the foundation of Israel the history of Israel and a conflict or you know whether people believe it's a conflict or not between the Israelis and the Palestinians it kind of put it in perspective but you've been living there for seven years and so can you explain the context for my audience like is there a struggle a daily struggle between the Israelis the Jews and the Palestinians not I'm not talking about in Gaza I'm just saying the West Bank and and the Israelis that live uh in in the territory in which they dominate when I say dominate they they heavily populate right so I would say generally um in the in the popular area where everybody is all the time you you could come here just as you did Israel on any given day see Arabs and Jews you know working side by side some you know some even all the way up into not only government you're talking about in the hospital I've been treated by Palestinian doctors inside of the hospitals here even so it's not necessarily um all the time the way that it's displayed on TV now however um in these territories yes there's definitely a lot of aggression you know the the this is not a situation where um as everybody's been saying it like you know this is just an isolated situation with this terrorist group we're not really dealing with that because as you start to talk to people that's where you really get it now one of the advantages that I have is that I'm black and not only am I black I'm Black and I'm American so the conversation that a Palestinian cab driver would have for me I I sort with me I sort of have an advantage so talking with them you know in my first few years here I just I took a taxi everywhere I wouldn't get a car people drive too crazy here in Israel and everybody knows that um so I I took a taxi everywhere that I went so so a lot of times I have a c Palestinian cab driver I would ask them just about their you know their feelings and different things like that there was maybe one guy I can remember one guy that was like really honest peaceful guy really was trying to talk everybody else it was completely 100% this is Palestine they all stole it from us I don't understand how you you're black from America you know about you know they Tred to P pull that card on me and and and and I've been told and I've been told out of their mouth you you cannot get rid of Hamas we are all we're all Hamas so you're dealing with that just a few few days ago this is even after October 7th s uh just a couple weeks ago week before last I think it was there was Air Raid Sirens here um in our neighborhood and there are a lot of uh Palestinian workers that work in the local grocery store here just right down the street and as they're stocking the air raid sirens go off so everybody's trying to run to to for cover to to mad it's not just you hear the airay signs you hear the booms you hear the explosions you hear what's going and usually going outside of it but you can understand the terror instead of running or ducking for cover or help anyone they pulled out their phones all of them unanimously filming and making jokes at all the Jews running and these are the people that been there for years working there you see them every day you understand what I'm talking about so you have to people have to understand the context over here and in the west they don't understand religion they don't understand Islam they don't understand Islamic hadiths they don't understand that this is deeper than a political movement this is something that they believe in terms of jihad 100% that's one thing that I learned when I went over and one of the tour guys was explaining and he's not Christian and we were we were on a Christian tour he's not a Christian he's Israeli he's not even Jewish or at least he's not of the Jewish faith not religious Jew um so he was explaining from a very impartial perspective he said you know one of the things that's that's that America seems to not understand and Americans that come over here is they think this is a war of good and bad right and wrong like these people are just wrong or these people are just right or these people are good guys these people are bad guys it it's not it has nothing to do with that because the context of religious Warfare has nothing to do with morality as we can see on October the 7th it had nothing to do with moral code it had nothing to do with military for they literally attacked innocent people and children and they kidnpped people they were doing they didn't even attack the idea of military they went for the innocent civilians it's not that it's a war of like conflict like we would normally fight on a battlefield where the soldiers fight the soldiers and everybody else stay out of that's not what they believe and that's not what it has never it has never been that right they didn't they did attack soldiers but the way they did it they did in a coward way I mean obviously if you're if you're going in for Warfare I can't necessarily call it cowardice but they they what they did was they took over army bases uh and most of the soldiers they were killed while they were asleep they just went in and killed everybody that was in there and they took over certain army bases in addition to putting babies in the oven raping women to the point to where they couldn't close their legs I don't mean to be so graphic for your viewers but you just need to understand we're dealing with people that are not humans ultimately the way they behave this is this is not not human now they caught a few of these terrorists I don't know if you watch these interrogations now you ously when once asked they all said that yeah they're they're not allowed according according to Islam right some would agree some wouldn't agree but they all say that technically they're not these guys were heavily drugged on substances whatever the substance was I forget the name of the drug that they gave him they said the same thing that Hitler yakimo same thing that he gave to the Nazis during the during World War II to make them completely heartless inhumane and they go in and they slaughter many many people and like I said this is a religious thing you have to understand that if they believe and this is this and this look at the progressive left this is crazy how everything is working it's all the whole thing is religious even the progressive left who hate religion and they're motivated motivated by the hate of religion because if you look at Islam and you look at I'm not calling all Muslims by the way because I do know some peaceful Muslims right however I will say this that if you look at Islamic jihadist and and and Islamic uh uh you know aggressors these people have the idea that Israel is in the way why because it's the it's the father religion it's the mother religion of them now if they believe that Islam is supposed to be the world dominant religion right they have to get rid of that which was there before they can't stand you understand what I mean they believe truly in that now from the progressive side they hate religion they are trying to completely eradicate any form of morality right so what's their problem the problem is is that what's God's business card now the rest of the world has been trying for years Brandon to get rid of God they've been trying to find scientific ways go through archaeological ways to try to get rid of God the problem is is that they never ask God what he thinks about it how does how did how did God say that he exists the way that God said that that he exists through the prophets is that the fact that you'll see at the end of time they're still Jewish people he says that that's how I'll be Sanctified in the eyes of the Nations once I bring them back to the land that's a major problem you understand what I'm saying so the the the the Integrity of God's existence and you know this you know this just as well as I do even even in Christ Christian eschatology end time studies revolves around what happens in Israel with the Jewish people in the Jewish State and the fact that that is that is there of course the one thing they want to be able to say is let's let's go against what the Bible says that this is the land given by Abraham uh given to God from uh to Abraham and to his descendants because I need to eradicate the idea of that even even being true you understand so I'm I I we're willing to be able to join forces with a common he even though we completely have beliefs that diametrically opposed to one another it's crazy it's crazy so it's uh it's it's very very sad very very sad to see yeah it is and it was a concept of um what they call it anti-Semitism and I looked at anti ISM like racism in America I feel like people overuse it but during this conflict I'm starting to really see very similarly to how the black people I grew up around right I mean the anti-Semitism and the races against whites are like almost synonymous because when I was growing up there was the sentiment that black folks didn't like white people now I don't know how white people feel about black people I didn't grew up white I just know that people right and there was like always this conflict oh the man the white man is doing this they always trying to scam you they they you know all of these things they did did the Native Americans wrong they put black people in Chains and racism and slavery and and that's how black people not every black person but the black people I grew up around that's how we felt right and black they'll be cool with white people until a conflict right exactly OJ Simpson happened now you start to see oh no black people taking the side of OJ against Co and the white people Crown Heights riots Crown Heights riots you know stories of plumbers guys black black people man dressing up as plumbers man going in the house and going completely obliterating murdering people like this is this is stuff happening over here you understand what I'm saying like it's crazy you're right we we definitely grew up that way institutionalizing the I was just thinking about this I was talking to my father and a friend um years ago now I don't know where he holds socially or politically and unfortunately over the years these have all become the same thing but he was talking about talking to Young Brothers in the street and talking to them about you know getting jobs and getting to act together now he was a rapper he changed his life you know he had some money whatever and he and he was talking to the youth and he said everybody kept on saying man yeah but they won't let us get no jobs they won't do this and they they trying to just keep us down and whatever and he said bro who is they let's go find them I'm trying to find they let's go find they who's stopping you because I'm getting money so I need to go find they who's stopping you where's he at you know and sometimes these things um are you know I I've listened to Palestinians say you know they just come over here and they just shoot us and they just and this is whatever now you know just like I know brenon we both grew up very similar background I grew up in the hood you know and and I will tell you I I grew up afraid not of the police but of other people I had beef with you understand what I'm saying other people from the other neighborhood I was way more afraid about them anytime I was afraid of the police I was never afraid of them killing me or shooting I was afraid I was afraid that I was doing illegal activities that I shouldn't have been doing and I didn't want to get caught by the police you understand what I'm saying yeah that's that's everybody if they're willing to be honest if they willing to be honest and and so you know you had this secret division that existed in the hearts of black people over time and when the conflicts happen it comes out and I and I feel like the same thing happens with anti-Semitism because of course people overuse it right everything is anti you say anything about a Jewish person I mean you're anti-semitic and I think some of it is exaggerated but when a conflict like this happens and you start seeing people you say wait wait a minute you are projecting a falsehood about Jewish people that is conjured up because of either either a builtup hatred or this underlying belief system that you are against Jewish people you think that they're all EX and so therefore people are compelled to assign themselves with terrorists I mean there acting like there's an equivalence between what the IDF is doing with what Israel is putting out as far as information and what Hamas is doing and putting out his information there is no equivalence you're talking about an established government system that is essentially nonviolent because the violence come from the Israeli people when I was there it I didn't fear that the Jews or the Israeli government would do something they were all peaceful the people in the military the IDF and police local police were friendly you know you take pictures with them it's almost as if they were guarding against something it wasn't they were the aggressor and the fear was some of the Muslim Palestinian people who would come and blow themselves up in the marketplace all that was the fear that I felt when I was in Israel so it's it's not really that they were the aggressors anyway the government reminds me of the American government which means that will they do something in the best interest of their country that may not be always 100% but potentially yes but Hamas is a terrorist group so they nothing but reasons to push propaganda they don't fight within the reals of reals of War if there wasn't for the Iron Dome they would obliterate Israel I mean they're shooting inantly right and this is not about peace like people are saying like it says in the Kamas Charter is to completely annihilate the state of Israel they want to kill the Jewish people this is not in their and and and the it's not like also too like they you know just came in and Rams they were voted into Power by the Palestinians in Gaza and and and in recent polls Brandon they showed that the support for Hamas amongst Palestinians all throughout has gone up since October 7th since October SE 7th so we're we're not dealing with peace here we're talking about be you know screaming to to uh that Palestine uh should be uh from the river to the Sea Palestine should be free calls for the annihilation of the state of Israel we're talking about a complete Annihilation and you talk about anti-Semitism for years people have been saying how come every time you're critical of Israel you have something to say about Israel then then you call it anti-Semitism we're seeing it today now all of a sudden there's a problem in the Middle East why should a Jew be threatened with sasus outside of his house in in in New York why should a man who who just was killed now in La during a Palestinian protest you understand what I'm saying because anti-Semitism and why think a lot of people are very sensitive is because it gets out of hand a lot of times you and I both know this you and I know this very much we we will scream racism before we see anything else in in the black community we we scream it so loud and before anything else and a lot and a lot of that um and it's not to say that racism doesn't exist I would not say that it doesn't exist but it's definitely overplayed uh as much as the scream now with anti-Semitism we can see how fast that it can get out of hand that now think think about it from a from a Jewish perspective even think about the the the the Jews that are on the left who marched in Black life matters uh uh protest with these people who support LGBT rights and all these and they're looking back going like whoa we was just cool yesterday it was just cool yesterday what happened you understand so anti-Semitism doesn't take much they you know you they did a study there were about 10 million Jews 8 to 10 million Jews around the time of the destruction of the second temple worldwide right not just in Israel now the majority of the Jewish population was actually not in Israel you had probably the majority of Jews during that time were still in Babylon they never came back after the Babylonian exile that was uh that was uh by the Babylonians in Nebuchadnezzar now from 8 to 10 million Jews let's say it's 10 the other ancient civilization today that would would have spended time that would have kept you know their land kept Identity or whatever would have been the Chinese there were about 20 25 million Chinese or so if you fast forward to time right now if you look at what it is today there's 1.4 billion Chinese there's about 15 million Jews only 15 million so you only had a five million increase over nearly 2,000 years what happened what happened murder destruction pums ex you talk about the number is is catastrophic there was millions of Jews K even at the Roman Conquest 1.1 million Jews I mean you're talking about Slaughter after Slaughter over many Millennia this is not just you know we're not even dealing with Egypt we're not even dealing with Assyria we're not dealing with the with the Babylonians we're talking about post all of that that you could say that there's 1.4 million billion Chinese people from 25 million and there's only 15 million Jews from 10 million we're talking about catastrophic numbers of anti-Semitism of death and murder and leg and you look at the look at the conflict like this I know people don't like like stereotypes we always say let's look let's do a case study I haven't done it yet but I'm I'm sure that the numbers would be crazy and we could talk about what we see with our eyes let's talk about the Jews after the temple was destroyed in 70 in 70 now if you look at that Jews were scattered all throughout the world all throughout the world there's almost no continent that didn't have Jewish people on it right now when you look at the the if you look at the Arab countries because the Palestinians are Arabs originally there no such thing as a Palestinian back just was never a nation called uh Palestine there was a territory called pales there was never a nation and people that identifi themselves as Palestinians also to that's fake news anyway so when you look at the the the Arab world and everywhere that they've been what you'll find Brandon is you'll see this type of aggression is not only in Israel let's look at the protests and demonstrations that take place in in Europe let's look at the the protest and that take place in the UK right and now they're moving themselves in in into the us wherever they begin to have a certain level of dominance then you start to see the enforcement of sharia law fighting against law and you just don't find this amongst Jews but you will find that they contributing to the economy they're contributing to the to the medical but you don't find Jews being arrested for terrorism all over all over the world and all over you just don't find it we're talking about let's look at the behaviors of what Jews are doing in other countries and then all of a sudden you know David's the bully and Goliath is is is is some you know just a passive person who just it just that thing doesn't make sense yeah no I there's no one person even if they wanted to disagree could not deny the facts of what you're saying you know terrorist attack in America I I have never heard of a Jewish person doing a terrorist attack but it's it's been a plethora the biggest terrorist attack in American history uh on the American soil the continental US was 911 I mean had I don't know 30 some hundred people died and and and many more died in the after effects especially the First Responders who had chemical you know had stuff in their lungs and they end up dying of cancer later on right so I mean they had a catastrophic effect on our country what what was that Islam I you look at right now I I've never seen the video Nim like like people say the Jews would just kill innocent Palestinian kids at night time because they were throwing rocks and and it sounds just like it sounds to me just like when they say cops just pull black people for no reason to kill them and they would doing nothing it's like it's like really where's the video of that and let me examine the video and see if they were just killing kids that just that doesn't seem consistent with what I have known from Israel and and what you see with IDF even now they just killing innocent people it's like they Dr they dropped like five to seven thousand bombs if they were indiscriminately dropping bombs and just killing random people there would be hundreds of thousands of Palestinians de I mean probably at this 7,000 bombs you just you just hit all the the population and and not even we about the military and you you kill hundreds of thousands of people and that's not what has happened but let me move on to another subject because um I know a lot of people want to know this um that don't know who you are I've never seen you or seen you know your ws and stuff like that um is how does a brother end up in Israel and how do people receive you as being a Orthodox I don't know if I don't know if you want to call you an orthodox Jew there's a name Orthodox it's Orthodox I'm kic I'm cidic Orthodox whatever Ked whatever yeah yeah so how does that occur because when I was in Israel I didn't see a single black person in Israel except me by the way violation for not coming to visit anyway you would you would have had a whole shabas you know a few years ago I had a had aab me you you you got to take partake in the Shabbat meal I'm assuming while you were here obviously yeah I I should have I did not you did not okay okay so all right two violations then you didn't you didn't have a we were on a tour and like on Shabbat we did we did the tour on Shabbat and got it we didn't have a specific meal so what what happened was the Jewish people they cooked the food and then they had it in warmers because on Shabbat they couldn't they didn't work and so the Palestinians served us in the hotel day so it was it was a little of a mix and and so obviously the Christians weren't really that deep and involved but I did do Shabbat with Dennis Prager and I have to I have to but I did it before I have to say it was one of the most amazing experiences that I've had and and I thought to myself Christians are really missing out on this experience because it was such a community when I say community the family came over to the house food was outrageously good and to see a father pray over his boys and now of course they were doing it in in in um Hebrew because I didn't understand nothing saying but he was praying over his boys prayed over the family I mean they just cut everything off and they just spent time together as a family and it was it was an amazing experience um but anyway back to the question you know how do brother from from America end up being a hidic Jew in Israel well you know I def my my journey is very deep but uh it started out I grew up in the Seattle inner city both my uh my mother and my father originally they were both hip-hop artists actually my mother and my father originated uh hip hop they actually pioneered it in Seattle um so I grew up with that but they also were you know lived a street life were were're into drugs both of my parents sold drugs uh my mother and my father split when I was around two um and she remarried I had a stepfather who raised me I don't refer to as a stepfather he was my dad he took care of me I was in my life so I got two fathers not in the sense of 20 2023 two fathers but I had you know had two fathers basically and uh and I and I and I had my mother so um growing up getting in trouble like everybody else you know starting off you know I always say I joined the family business very early I was already selling weed in sixth grade started smoking weed at eight years old um running with street gang GD gdn Gangsta disciple Nation getting myself in trouble by the time I was 13 I was expelled from the Seattle School District now what's interesting about the the religious practice was the first introduction to religion was Islam my grandfather was a Sunni Muslim uh what actually somewhat he probably placed the planted the uh the the Jewish thing in me because he was he didn't have any Islamic gifts he could send me uh during the during the time of Christmas so he wanted to send me something for prison and he sent me a documentary on the prayer of Yates of jabz when he was praying and uh very very you know special prayer about enlarging my territory and God and screaming out from his pain so I seen that it was based on him being in Israel and praying now that was as a young kid year later he came to live with us I prayed with him five times a day he took me to the mosque and everything like that and uh unfortunately ended up back in prison so time would go on until I was 13 anybody asked me I would have told him I was Muslim and then when I was 14 um I was invited 13 I was invited to by friend to a hip hop program that was at the Union Gospel Mission which was a Christian organization now this was so crucial for me because the that time in my life I was I was already expelled from the school district I was running with the street I was getting in a lot of trouble so I started going there to this after school program you know starting write music and this place became my second I literally saved my life by going to this people Christian organization lovely people I had a wonderful Mentor John John uh John Reed who took like took me in like a like a big brother but sort of like he was like another father for me um and throughout my high school years I was still very into music um I recorded professionally I was 13 so already by the time I was 15 16 in high school I was just cranking out mixtapes and you know that time you know you and me around the same age so that time was a was a big time that was the whole Jay-Z Nas Feud going on you know and then and then 50 came out of nowhere and right around my 11th grade year right after I just met my wife me and my wife were high school sweethearts so been together since we were 16 so that 11th grade year um a demo of mine made it to a desk of an anr a big record label and uh we started talking and at that point I was a very very strong Christian it wasn't like I was just like I was a bible thumper I had so many verses memorized and highlighted inside of my thing I was a part of all the leadership groups and bible study group that was you know and so the first thing they uh they they said to me first comment was like man the music's dope but but like man you ain't cussing like what's the you know where's the you know what I'm saying where's the hood but the biggest thing in hip-hop at that time was 50 so like nobody was looking for nothing that wasn't uh wasn't talking about the same thing so I had to really think that over it's like moral morally that's not where I'm holding and they sent over a proposal for a contract and it had a lot of money on it and and I caved in I I literally caved in but I thought to myself I wasn't going to change me I'm just going to put on this act or whatever but what I noticed was after some time slowly everything around me started to change and I was still in demo mode they were still testing me to see how far I was going to go with everything and um in the midst of me negotiating doing everything with that deal I ended up losing my mother she died of a overdose unfortunately very very hard for me she was 37 and um I was 19 at the time and uh that pain really propelled me to like really start doing some self-reflection start thinking about my life at this point because now I'm confused I don't know who I am you know what I'm saying I'm 50 Cent on the weekend I'm with my girlfriend she's a good goody tooe Church going girl like I was trying to figure out really who I was until I went into this you know very very dark place of feeling very uh very very like empty and not unsure of myself uh it be like a year year and a half later that um there was another artist who made like a diss track on me and uh I went into the studio ready to write back you know and a friend of mine came in he's like man we just go to beat him up he won't make any more songs you know that's so we went with his plan and we end up going over there outside the nightclub and we get into this bra man you know just regular just Hood just stupid for no reason just you know and uh we end up splitting ways but one of my friends come up afterwards and he tries to kill him so he has a gun he's shooting and and unfortunately you know in the hood we don't do target practice so he shot everything except for the guy and he ends up going into custody and they they they take him in and you know now I know he's about to do he's about to do some time I don't know how much but he's about to do some time but now I have a dilemma because they get back to me and they tell me now these guys think you just sent somebody to kill them so it's either his life or my life so now I'm in a situation where I'm like what am I about to do you know and at this point I was so far away from you know religion and everything I was so trying to like figure myself out I just I was I was I was a mess after this because no matter how much you could portray and you did all this and ran from gunshots and I was doing all this and everything but like now this is serious this is really serious and this this is now my opportunity to show myself who I really am and I didn't have it in me I just i' be honest with myself I didn't have it in me I grew up in this I seen the hood it grew up at my house my parents were gangsters I seen all of this but I just in my heart it just wasn't who I was I really and I'm sitting there I'm trying to think like what do I do because I'm going to have to make a decision and I fell to my knees bur and I started crying I started praying and I'm praying I'm praying until my eyes were bloodshot red and I'm walking back and forth in my room and I literally had a miracle my miracle was and my phone ring and it was the other guy now I don't know for me you can understand I don't know what made this guy think even to call me but he called me he called me and we talked it out as men you know how many things would have would have completely been dissipated growing up if somebody would have just picked up the other phone like just picked up to to clarify something I mean even now looking back I was thinking about this how much my life was say but good so anyway uh you remember where you left off at it was the yeah I remember I remember where I left off uh so so now there I'm I'm crying um I'm praying and then my phone rings and this is what I this is where I was getting at is that that that next year what happened was crazy the whole streets just flipped out every like all the hoods I was attached to all the people I was close to people people just started killing people people I grew up with I went on to lose about eight friends that next year my sister she was 13 she was shot that year the next year just the next year so I'm telling you the the the value of of me being able to talk and and and and settle the beef with this guy just it went up as the years went on I was just like wow that was something crazy so we squash everything and now I have to make a big decision I can't go back to the same life that I lived there was no way in the world um um and I realized I grew up in the Jewish neighborhood I didn't know anything about Judaism I grew up very very close I used to walk through a synagogue all the time so I wanted to start looking into knowing what what Jews believe because everything that I learned about wasn't a good look you know I'm saying I was a Christian before I seen the I seen and it wasn't even bad I didn't grow up bad like hating Jews but Passion of the Christ just wasn't a good look you know um so I remember going and setting all the books I had Quran and everything and I just wanted to know what was what and the thing about Judaism that kept on screaming out to me was everything I was just talking about now was the the exact precise Precision of God's prophecy in terms of what did God say to the Jewish people he says that I'm going to make you a small nation you're going to be hated amongst the Nations I will scatter you amongst the Nations you remain small in Number the land itself will become Barren now I grew where I grew up I don't know about about you but where I grew up in the school that I went I never learn learned anything about the Holocaust I didn't know about the Holocaust until I actually started learning Jewish history you know so it wasn't something that I grew up knowing about so the more and more I so then that led me into looking at the Jewish struggle everything that we're dealing with right now and it was through the suffering of the Jewish people that made me realize that God's word is true like because it could have never happened that there's still Jews today after the Babylonians after the Romans after the syrians after the Egyptians you know after the the Germans in M you're looking at that you know history through the lens of biblical prophecy made me go wow I just never never thought about it so I the more and more I started to explore first thing was I ended in you know I didn't know where I was going to go from this I started I just took the Bible and I started reading it from cover to cover I was reading it from cover to cover and I did this twice and I had no expectations started fasting I was fasting three days at a time and I would take a week and I fast three days in a row I and I go off I had a special place I would go to and I would pray all the time until my eyes were blood shot I'm talking about for hours I would I would come back the spiritual awareness and sensitivity that I had during this time was was beyond and it was crazy and every conversation everything that was going going around I was it was like I was tapped in I could understand that God was sending me messages as I was going through what I was going through so that led me first I was a part of a Messianic congregation and I was there for a couple years and and as I kept growing I want to talk about that real quick so Messianic congregation so you you went to a Christian Church before that and so what was your how did you find the congregation like did you just look up one that was in the area or did you do your research on which one was best did you contact get in contact with a rabbi like how how did you figure that out and what was your first impression when you first went to a a Jewish congregation like a Jewish congregation so the first thing was like I didn't know really how uh how to go about it all I knew was that I grew up in the Jewish neighborhood so I'm just going to go back you talking about just the Orthodox Jewish Place yeah so what happened whatever yeah yeah so synagogue so what happened was um I I just went back to my old neighborhood literally I just literally went back to my old neighborhood I drove around and I looked at some of the synagogues and whatever I can't to play we're going to go in one of these days and uh I'm going go start trying to you know ask some questions and different things like that uh what happened was is that uh my wife came to me and she says you know what you know after all the learning everything we been doing I think I want to do Orthodox conversion and I'm looking at her like you know at one point she wasn't even on board with me but she said this to me and I'm thinking to myself like I'm excited but I said the same thing as you I don't know no black Jews like I never I seen Jews in black but I never seen a black one you know what I'm saying so that's what I was thinking and then what happened was I'm telling you this is crazy what happened was uh maybe a week after this I was checking out groceries and lo and behold through the self checkout I hear shabbat shalom brother you know turn around it's a black Jew and he's standing in the in the in the in the grocery store and he's looking at me he's got ear to ear you know he's smiling and we start talking his name was Jakob lenam very very sweet individual and he invited me to his house for Shabbat um and then we went to next Shabbat and then they invited me to synagogue then there was another so as sort of at work worked itself sort of organically like I was on this you know on this on this spiritual growth and um and when I went there that that's what most people don't understand Judaism is supposed to reject you that's the that's the bylaws is that you're rejected actually with Judaism because a Jewish idea is that you don't have to be Jewish in order to like have a place in heaven right we don't that Judaism doesn't believe that Judaism believes that um that that you could be a righteous non-jewish person you could be a Muslim you could be a Christian we don't believe but but but the the goal is believe in God and God's unity and and you know there's you know noahide laws that we have that are not out that we have but that God made a certain Covenant with with Noah now so so the idea that by converting you if I convert you and then you're obligated to all these different Commandments then we may bring more sin in the world because you're you're now obligated to do all these things as it to where right now you're not obligated and you could be a righteous Gentile so it's a hurdle but once a person's Spirit has led them to do something and you feel very very passionate about something you have to make the decision if you're going to go forward or not so we did it was me my wife U my best friend since kindergarten we married sisters so uh and we all converted together we had a double wedding and then so we were there still in the community in Seattle for about two and a half years before we decided let's go to Israel and then we all moved we made Ali out to Israel oh man and I'm telling you that was crazy now if you talk about terms of reception everybody told me like in the beginning like oh those people ain't going to like you they're going to be racist they're this and this and that and that could be true maybe in some places but I didn't experience that I just didn't experiencing that it didn't it didn't you know I was it didn't hit me later on to Israel now Israel is a very very now the k Community here is very very um don't know where the word is but it's very very you know in Seattle I would say which is very very liberal now Seattle itself is as far as you could go left geographically and politically right so it's very very passive aggressive you understand what I'm saying so everything's cool we love everybody we hug trees until you like disagree with whatever my fundamentals are right now Israel's very aggressive passive so the communities over here is that it don't care they don't care about just the color it's wherever you come from that if you didn't come from where we are we're skeptical of you you understand what I'm saying very very skeptical of you it's very like I would say also to some of it comes from a victim mentality it's not 100% the a Torah way but but that's really how it is so a lot of the things are like you know racism I would say that people like you encounter uh racism I definitely encounter things over here no doubt about it if that be the bulk that would be the 2% of 100% to be honest that' be in the 2% of 100% But as soon as anybody hears it they want to put it in the media cuz you know it it sells tickets but but but the truth is is that in that little bit of of it happening it you have to reshape your mind because it's not connected to what's going on in America happens over here there's no stereotypes with it it's not black people arex it's just you're different than me and the more people see you you break down this barrier and people pull you in like you're one of them it's not like uh one of those things where it's like oh everybody like you it's like this so I didn't have that experience uh even personally I can't say my kids have dealt with it here and there but me I be honest by the time I moved here I was already pretty much a celebrity in the community so I was actually received very well that's awesome man I always thought about that you know I always have this conflict with Judaism and Christianity because when I go back and look at the scriptures and I look at Jesus and I say because people like to skip over Jesus's life to get to the fun part and because in the Bible there's no description of Jesus Jesus into the fun part maybe when he was young maybe one of the time when he was right 12 or something and then he they don't talk about Jesus's 30 so a lot of Christians like to skip over the fun part he was he was born this way and then he's uh now doing his ministry but they forget that if you read the Bible at least in the New Testament even the New Testament authors spoke about how Jesus was a Jewish person Jesus kept the law Jesus was a rabbi they called him great teacher like he was established in the Jewish Community he grew in wisdom you know he was at the synagogue you know all the time keeping kulture keeping you know all of the things that were laws Jesus adhered to there is no place in the bible where jesus somehow converted so when I think about that it makes me as a Christian think that sometimes Christians may be abandoning the Jewish connection that we have to establish something very different than what Jesus you know kind of put forward and I I always have this conflict and in my mind I'm like I want to go back and reassess and say okay what are the things that Jesus did that I need to mimic if I'm going to be a follower of Jesus I can't just go and create a new religion and say all these things does not count because now I want to be a Christian some new religion that we didn't created it's like no what would what did Jesus do how do I closely align myself with Jesus and I find myself at opposition with a lot of Christians because I go ahead sorry I I hear what you're saying well there's a few things that Christians will have to Grapple with that that are obviously said now most of most of Scholars today refer to Christianity as we know today as Pauline Christianity right uh because a lot of the the the main and core doctrine of the modern day Church even from Orthodox all the way to the Evangelical world is mainly Pauline in nature he authored most most of the Epistles are at least attributed to Paul however I don't know if anybody has done a major comparison to Paul's letters into James now if you look at the if you look at the Epistle of James you'll find that very well s very still very you know at least Jesus oriented however speaks of great uh admiration of the Torah and and the laws and and abiding then now now and technically you know I'm not Christian so I'm not I can't like say this and that but from you know just from the study of it the the actual leader of of the of the of the groups of the Apostles after the the um after after the passing of Jesus was was James took over was the brother wasn't Paul was not there have to say that you know whatever however you you feel about it so you have to understand that either either you could do as some Christians say is that well okay well the Paul thing you can't you know some people some that's taboo to say well maybe Paul's not in there because he says a lot of things that's not necessarily in line with what the gospel said and also in line with what what what James and the other Epistles say or you say that we need to understand Paul from the context of what James is saying and what the other Epistles are saying you know what I'm saying either either maybe because another thing is that that you know that probably people don't come to think about is that a lot of the Epistles are one-sided you're only getting what they wrote back to those communities but you didn't get the questions that were were sent to them from galatia from uh Corinthia from you didn't get those letters the only letters you have as the response of of to to certain things that would go there so I think this grappling that you had was something that even the early Epistles had you know you see that Paul would have you know sometimes interactions with Peter that he didn't like he says I pose them in his face that he you know from sitting moving away from sitting with the Gentiles and if you do this you know so Paul at times is you know argument saying listen I see somebody else came in and taught you a different gospel other than the way that I told you and I showed you you know so Paul has these issues I don't think your grappling is any different than what was going on during time with you know first century Christianity also too and and looking at it people often have this idea of some some new religion no these were you know Jews from what we could understand were Torah observant Jewish movement right that probably wasn't so popular with other people uh would have definitely definitely if you look at you know it doesn't take any person who who never read the New Testament most Jews have never read the New Testament at all just only I because I was a former Christian however but it doesn't take much for you to look and to see that this completely phic Judaism in fact there's been many lines that are inside of the New Testament that Jesus himself says that is a complete replica of what is said in Jewish law by the Hillel the great the exact same words verbatim you understand what I mean so this phic and I think it's somewhere around Matthew 22 or somewhere around there where where Jesus says he's as he's given one of his sermons he says that it says see the the Pharisees right not the Sadducees the Sadducees were for sure were Heretics by everybody's book but he said the Pharisees sit in the seat of Moses and do as they as as they say he says don't do as they do there was a lot of corruption in his time he was saying but he said but but everything that they say you were to do they sit in the seat of Moses and these were obviously you know those who who preserved and this that's where Judaism is today comes down from from that phic line yeah and and and I um you know my whole thing about Christianity and faith and everything is always being open-minded you know because I always look at the challenges that are up against Christians I I I don't blindly just say I'm a Christian so I believe everything a Christian Pastor tells me it's like I I'm I'm also so curious too because God is the truth people be messing up and people be coming up with their own stuff that's why we got 45,000 different denominations so I look at God and I say okay why would a Jewish person not believe in Jesus the way Christians do or why would a Muslim person not believe in Jesus the way Christians do it why is there Mormonism why is there and I I like to listen to other arguments and in doing so I start to realize that well there are some things about Christianity that's not really people are practicing something that's not Jesus and I'm not all Christianity but that's like Jesus said I didn't come to do away with the law I came to fulfill the law and for someon people jump to Paul now here's the thing that I say about Paul I I've heard the arguments from Christians and other Christians that don't agree with each other there is a conflict with the Pauline Epistles right I mean you you agree with it or not there is a conflict Matthew Mark Luke John were very different than Paul and they were a different dispensation Paul was not an apostle Paul came after Peter and didn't even like Paul at first they were skeptical because Paul persecuting Christians or persecuting the remnant of Jews that were following Christians I mean following Jesus and so the some of the Apostles had a opposition of Paul and Peter which According To Jesus in the in the New Testament that he gave Peter the keys to start the church and Peter was a Jew and Peter and Jesus and all of the uh uh um you know Parables that Jesus would say were all reference points to Juda all of Jesus's references that he made were references to the the um the prophets and in Jesus's time there was no Bible right it was the Torah so there was a Torah there was a Torah see it and it went in the actually the Jewish order so if you notice the Jewish order of the Hebrew Bible is actually in a different order right uh the way it is in the in the in the Christian Bible you would have the Torah same book but you have the Torah first and then you'll have the uh you have the writings the Psalms and and Proverbs and you know those that would have would have been considered the writings and then you have you have the uh prophets right now if you look at the Jewish Bible it's in different order you have it's called tanak which is the Torah this is It's acronym for the Torah then the Nim the prophets and then you have the right you have the you have the you have the writings now what's interesting about it is is because it's even said there in in in in the in the New Testament the book of Acts is called the the toras the the Psalms the Torah the prophets and the writings are the Psalms is what it says over there so we understand that that's always that's another context that Christians don't don't think about is that there's always some type of context they going on that they with a western mindset you you wouldn't you wouldn't even be able to properly even understand the New Testament you understand what I'm saying and understand it in its in its in its entirety now now I'm saying that obviously you know as a non-Christian but I'm saying that if you're looking at it you know certain things like um you know uh there's one point where they come to Jesus and they ask them you know why don't your your disciples wash their hands you know I'm saying they're eating bread right now but they they didn't want they didn't wash their hands they wants to know and there's an exchange back and forth with him and he says that you know I something I think he quotes from the book of Isaiah something about this it's been years since I since I read the New Testament but my head so so he says something over there to the likes of of of that you you know um these are something traditions of men or whatever now there's a very interesting thing that he says over there he quotes from the book of there he says that your your words you praising me with your lips but your hearts are far from me right when he's rebuking these people now nobody pays attention to the fact that they didn't ask him why didn't you wash your hands M why didn't they say that that would have been the best claim of all why didn't you wash your hands if I'm coming at and said why didn't the people wash hands because he washed his hands you understand so which is a part of the the oral oral tradition so and that's another thing the Christian world has somewhat removed itself from from a lot from oral tradition they don't believe in that there was a oral Torah but I mean the bulk of anything you believe everything we have is oral Torah your Christian Bible in itself is or all because the Hebrew Hebrew language doesn't come with vowels right so you can change the the word based on whatever it is even the canonization came from the rabbis so how do we know which books to go in you're depending on the oral transmission of the rabbis to say that these books are okay and these ones are not okay and not only that that the very words that you're reading as as now they've been translated into English that those words are the words that the s just said it's that word instead of this word I can change a word based on its vowels and it can mean something completely different so we're relying even on the oral tradition to tell us what these actual words mean so there's almost no way really to get rid of it I mean they were in the synagogue they would go and back to back to your thing about Paul which is another thing that's interesting it gives you another context of that that Community uh was not only Jewish they were observant religious Torah Jews was the fact that there's a certain um issue that comes up in the book of Acts now this is something that goes on and on when you read Galatians you read Romans and it seems as if um and could be and most other Scholars would conclude that Paul's very antinomian very anti- law now the problem you have is is that in the book of Acts they question him there was a accounts in Jerusalem and as Paul comes back they all say to him they say Paul it's it's been said that you're teaching the Jews that are amongst the Gentiles that they don't have to keep the law we know this isn't true so what we want you to do is go to the temple and take a sacrifice in front of everybody so everybody could see that you still believe in the law you believe in the Torah and which he does right he stands up and uh I forget exactly what it was of Cypress or one of his trips that he that he does and he says that hey brothers I am a Pharisee I a Pharisee of Pharisees and the reason why I'm In Contention here is because I have you know I've uh essentially believe in the resurrection of the dead right so you see this thing with Paul and like I said I I I hate to be critical of it because it's not you know I'm not I'm not I'm not a Christian but Christians do have to deal with the fact that there's some there's some issues going back and forth with Paul and the other uh Apostles where things aren't and he says you know I I I've become all things to all people order that I should win them over to Christ so maybe he is when I'm over here I'm like this when I'm over here I'm like that and so that has become some of the staple I think for missionizing also so you know you have to sort of deal with that with with with Paul and the other Apostles it doesn't seem like there's consistency going on there right and as a Christian you know I'm not trying to tell people to don't believe the Bible or nothing but people to be open to that criticism because you you can find things that Paul says to be effective and and but just understand there's a controversy that so these these are the things that that I think about I'm a Christian I love Jesus I believe Jesus died for our sins like I believe all of that like I was baptized in Jesus name I was filled with God's spirit I spoke in tongues like so all of that stuff I believe it and and this unequivocal evidence to me however I do think it's pertinent for Christians to kind of evaluate this because when I went to Israel it it opened my eyes to a few things it's like it's like wow it made Jesus his journey and even King David and all it made it more real it wasn't just reading some stuff and oh Jesus was the Sea of Galilee and when you start finding out what culture went along with this and what Jesus may have been doing and the people around Galilee and they come from ciceria Philippi and you know whatever they coming from all these places when they comeing to see Jesus and when Jesus go up to pray and he was tempted by the devil and then he goes back to Jerusalem and and just looking at how far he had to walk up up the up a mountain to get to Jerusalem which is which is elevated and like it made it all real to me and and it made me think more often of making sure that we do not get too far away from the from the well Waring path of what Jesus did and I and I honestly say this and and not try to s for you because you're my friend and you're Jewish but it it I honestly believe that Christianity has gone really far away from its original form yeah first first century Christianity I just want to say I don't mean to cut you off but I just have to say this VI have to be aware first century Christianity looked like the Orthodox Judaism in first century pheric Orthodox Judaism that that practices the conversation that were going on about whether or not you could carry something on Shabbat these are all all arguments of the sages there was essentially no difference between a person it wasn't until that you know obviously the Gentile influence as things changed uh like I said probably more so with with led by by Pauline Christianity that things started to become basically a different like religion unrecognizable uh to to to uh to to Judaism so but at the at its Inception there was there was absolutely no difference all the way up until even you know the death of the Apostles so that there's no no doubt about it that this it it doesn't look like anything that it was in the first century no doubt about it 100% man but I I I enjoy the conversation it's it's rare that people get a chance to hear from a brother that's also Jewish that also live in Israel and and there are more of us just that's I was going to say if you that came for Shabbat you know we would have had a uh had a Black Friday you know you would have been able to meet other families you know who's in the neighborhood and all that other it dangerous Stu so I know it seems like I'm the only crazy guy in the world but no once once it all gets resolved my wife is like you'll never go back but you know I think once you get resolved and in a stable situation I would love to come back man I was there for two weeks and I can't believe I missed you out there uh I was in Jerusalem we went we went everywhere Tiberia we were at we didn't go to Tel AV we were uh I forget went up to the Galilee though you went up you went up to the Galilee yeah we were at the SE of Galilee we actually uh rode a boat on the Sea of Galilee you know it's all tourism thing we we actually ate fish Sea of Galilee we went down Dead Sea we drove through the West Bank where I think it's considered the West Bank I get kind of confused where they have all the date Farms yeah um I mean it's my it's I have to say even though it's not the Jewish territory area I have to say it's one of the most spectacular and beautiful sites that I saw was in the middle of a desert you see date palm trees for miles and miles just the fact that people are manually you know harvesting those trees is is mindblowing to me it's it's true and you know that the problem is as you say Jewish territory I mean biblically speaking I'm I'm saying from a Jew to a Christian we understand like this we cannot forget at least that this land was given to Abraham now there's a there's a reality in secularism that says that okay we need more proof but for us I mean this is this is our life this is our life is God's word is the fact that he said he gave this to Abraham and and looking at the at the scriptures now I I just want to alarm you I know you have a big Christian audience and and so they could easily go look this up in the Book of Joel in the fourth chapter when God speaks about the final war of him bringing all the nations down into the valley of Jehoshaphat his reason why he's infuriated he says it's because on the account of my people and on the account of my land which they divided God is not happy about the land as much as we all want peace and we want to see you know you know I'm not say myself but say want to see a Palestinian state right by Jud that is a that's a major red flag according to God now the difference is is that we don't believe that we have to go and kill everybody in order for us to to to to take over the we believe in God's word and his Redemption that when he comes he's going to set the record straight he's going to set the record straight and and let me let me uh yeah I want to talk touch on this last point and this will be our last question because I know you're a busy man as well as I gotta do some stuff but I want to ask you this last question because a lot of Christians including myself we don't really talk to Jewish people about this we just have a concept that we seen on the Internet or somebody told us about it or you do a little research but you never talk to a Jewish person about Jesus Christ and the second coming or or the Messiah so um from a Jewish perspective if Jesus isn't the Messiah to you guys obviously he's not what is the expectation for the the Messiah to come is it is it similar to what Christians believe has already happened and you you guys believe that the prophecy wasn't fulfilled by Jesus so there's there's a a messiah that's coming or is it completely different in the way that the Messiah would come for the Jewish people okay so I'll try to do this very gracefully and I don't want to offend the Christian audience but I want to just keep it like kind of real now if you look at throughout the New Testament most of the times that it um it presents a fulfillment of what should be done and what was said is very rarely do they take the actual unanimously understood Messianic prophecies um such as God gathering in the Exiles or building the Third Temple or even it says in the Book of Ezekiel that the prince of the people right so according to Christianity there's no more sacrifice but in Ezekiel says that the prince of the people the son of David who who's the messiah referring to the end that he brings a sacrifice a sin offering on the behalf of himself and on the behalf of the nation right so there's major red FL fls with it because there's and and why why we would be looking for everything that pretty much that that that that the Christian World believes that Jesus would do and the second coming is everything that the Messiah is supposed to do from the beginning you understand what I mean it's not a uh there was no idea of a of a second coming or anything like that that was uh proposed in scripture so the problem is that a lot of the Messianic prophecies that are fulfilled which is quite honestly think about this I want just to take a a step back as a me as a Jew and you as a Christian we just both take back and we'll look at at the at the biblical Narrative of the the coming of of the Messiah now this is not something that's very clear right the Bible never really refers to the Messiah as the Messiah this is a later on term that's used um by by by by Jews in the in the first century to try to explain you know these passages of this who this son of David and everything is but if you look at it he's a very minimal character in the terms of looking at prophecy itself you hardly ever hear you see God say I will bring back the Nations and I will Ex execute judgment I and very tiny we hear about the servant of the Lord so one could say that even not even as a Jew not even as a Christian that I could read my Bible and I could go from cover to cover and read through all the proposed Messianic prophecies and not really conclude even that there's a messiah the concept in itself nobody really knows if until you know it's uh it's understood by by by rabic Judaism that there's a coming King a future king because we're trying to understand which which Kings does this refer to and there's a lot of things that were left undone you know that were looking at it from Hezekiah from uh from Josiah I'm just trying to think of righteous Kings from King David King Solomon people that never you know there's fulfillments of things that's supposed to happen that's they supposed to be a character so this is really a a a a a a Jewish idea of who the Messiah is so therefore there was criteria that was understood by everybody of what was supposed to be so
