AUDIO ONLY: Andrew Cedra Escapes Muslim Brotherhood Death Threats to Warn America About Paganism and Islam

Andrew Sedra, a pastor from Australia who was born in Egypt, shares his harrowing story of escaping death threats from the Muslim Brotherhood after his father converted Muslims to Christianity. Now facing criminalization for preaching biblical truth in Australia, where certain prayers can result in five years in prison, Sedra warns Americans that their country is heading down the same path. He reveals how modern secularism is actually paganism in disguise, creating space for every religion except Christianity. Drawing from his experiences in the Middle East and witnessing Australia's descent into authoritarianism, Sedra explains the unholy alliance between Islam and the LGBTQ movement, both united by their opposition to Christianity, the West, and America. His message is urgent: Australia is ten years ahead of America in criminalizing faith, and without courageous action, the same fate awaits.

From Religious Refugee to Prophetic Voice

Andrew Sedra began his remarks at Freedom Night by emphasizing the preciousness of freedom, particularly for those who have experienced its absence. Born in the Middle East where planting a church was illegal and required presidential approval for every church building, Sedra grew up understanding that freedom is not something to be taken for granted. His father was a preacher who faced persecution for converting Muslims to Christianity, ultimately forcing the family to escape as religious refugees.

Sedra recounted how his father converted a Muslim woman to Christianity, prompting both government persecution and threats from the Muslim Brotherhood. The convert's husband, along with members of the Muslim Brotherhood, attempted twice to kidnap Sedra and his younger brother with plans to behead them and send their heads to their father as punishment. On both occasions, the attackers were mysteriously frozen in place, unable to move until the boys had safely boarded their school bus. Weeks later, the man who had plotted their murder came to Sedra's father and converted to Christianity, explaining that he believed in Jesus because God had protected the children.

Australia's Descent Into Authoritarianism

Sedra explained that Australia, where he now pastors, has become increasingly hostile to Christianity. He described the country as being ten years ahead of America in criminalizing faith. In Melbourne, praying for a gay person, even with their consent, can result in five years in prison. The legislation specifically targets what it calls "Evangelical conservative type of prayer" and criminalizes telling a gay person to fast or expressing disapproval of their lifestyle.

He noted the irony of escaping Muslim persecution only to encounter what he calls the "LGBTQ mafia" in Australia, which operates with similar tactics of intimidation and legal persecution. Sedra emphasized that Australia is no longer a secular nation but has become openly pagan, with flags representing various identity groups displayed everywhere while Christianity is systematically marginalized and criminalized.

Currently, Christian schools in Australia face legislation that would require them to teach gender ideology by law, framed as a "duty of care" to affirm behaviors. Sedra warned that under the guise of love, tolerance, and diversity, Australia has established totalitarian control where every person must worship the pagan gods of the state except the God of the Bible.

The Unholy Alliance Between Islam and LGBTQ Ideology

Sedra addressed what he called the "unholy alliance" between Islam and the LGBTQ movement, noting the paradox of "Queers for Palestine" despite Islam's violent opposition to homosexuality. He explained that what unites these seemingly opposite ideologies is their shared hatred of Christianity, the West, and America. Both movements work to criminalize and eliminate Christian influence from public life.

Drawing from his experience growing up in Egypt, Sedra provided theological context for understanding Islam. He explained that in Egypt, even though it's considered a moderate Muslim country, 80% of Muslims believe that anyone who converts from Islam to another religion must die, along with the person who converted them, baptized them, and took them to church. He emphasized that Islam is fundamentally a conquering religion, not an assimilating one, with a theological foundation built on making the entire world Muslim by force.

Sedra warned that progressivism serves as a pathway to Islam rather than a permanent state. He explained that progressivism weakens men, feminizes culture, and creates the conditions for Islam to rise as a masculine alternative. While progressives think they're building toward their own utopia, they're actually creating the environment for Islamic conquest, as evidenced by the transformation of neighborhoods in London, Europe, and Australia.

Secularism as Modern Paganism

One of Sedra's central arguments was that secularism is not neutral but is actually paganism. He stated emphatically: "A country can never be secular, it's always going to end up Pagan." Under secularism, every identity sets up its own pagan god to worship, and every religion is protected except Christianity. He noted that in Australia, it is now legal to discriminate against Christians, while on television, Christians are mocked and bullied daily, yet he cannot appear on right-wing media for fear his views might cause the network to be sued.

Sedra explained that America faces a choice: it will be under Almighty God, or the LGBTQ sex religion, or Allah, or Moloch (the god of child sacrifice and abortion), or Jezebel (the goddess of feminism). People want the blessings without the God, the flame without the fire, the privilege without responsibility, but every society must choose which god it will serve.

He drew parallels to the book of Exodus, explaining that every plague was a direct refutation of Egyptian pagan gods. Similarly, the current cultural moment represents a return to polytheistic paganism where multiple gods mean multiple moralities, allowing people to do whatever they want. Christianity's monotheism—one God, one morality—is the only system that can effectively crush paganism, which is why it faces such intense opposition.

The Criminalization of Christianity

Sedra provided specific examples of how Christianity is being criminalized in Australia. Police have visited him multiple times during the week to question him about his sermons, asking what he meant by certain statements. Australia has moved from prosecuting "hate crimes" to investigating "hate incidents," searching for evidence of offenses that don't actually exist. He described this as a modern-day Daniel moment, where the spirit of Babylon has taken control and is systematically criminalizing gospel preaching, prayer, and worship.

He explained that during COVID, every church in Australia was required to register with a government business code. Every person entering church had to scan a government app, which notified authorities who attended, for how long, and tracked their movements. Sedra likened this to "the mark of the beast," noting that hardly any pastors objected to this surveillance system.

Sedra emphasized that if Christians continue to remain silent, it will eventually become illegal to speak. He warned Americans not to make the mistake of thinking it can't happen in their country. What is tolerated will be celebrated, and eventually, Christian views will become criminal offenses. He called on Christians to speak boldly now while they still have the freedom to do so.

The Failure of Woke and Feminized Christianity

Sedra reserved particularly strong criticism for what he called "liberal white Christianity," "woke Christianity," and "feminized pastors." He argued that these pastors have empathy without courage, truth without love, compassion without correction, and kindness without repentance. They want revival without repentance, the Holy Spirit without holiness, and they preach "come as you are" but really mean "stay as you are."

He explained that these pastors are not just weak but have been "womanized," meaning they exhibit feminine virtues in extreme while abandoning masculine virtues like strength and courage. While it's beautiful when women act like women, when men act like women it creates a dysfunctional church that cannot stand against opposition. He noted that work pastors split religion from politics, failing to understand that politics is religious and religion is political—there is no actual difference between the two.

Sedra called this secularization of the church a uniquely Western and white phenomenon. He pointed out that Christians in the Middle East would laugh at the idea that you cannot speak about Jesus for fear of offending people, when they face death for their faith. He challenged the notion that Christians should submit to government authorities who forbid preaching, asking what believers in persecution would say to such a weak theology. He pointed to Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Paul, Jesus, Elijah, Moses, Joshua, and the Hebrew midwives who disobeyed Pharaoh's order to kill babies—every significant figure in the Bible was political.

The Islamic Threat and Theological Preparation

Sedra was forced to memorize the Quran as a child in Egypt, where even Christian school students were required to learn Islamic texts. He used this knowledge to explain Islamic theology in depth. He noted that English translations of the Quran are purposely toned down, hiding the violence in the original Arabic. Islamic theology is built on the belief that the entire world must become Muslim by force, which is why the Saudi Arabian flag features a sword.

He explained that Muhammad was peaceful for only the first ten years of Islam because he tried to emulate Jesus. When Jews rejected him, he killed them, which is why there's deep tension between Islam and Judaism. Muhammad killed one of the two biggest Jewish leaders and forced his wives to marry him. He also married a nine-year-old girl named Aisha. Sedra emphasized that Muhammad is considered the perfect, sinless prophet in Islam, which means the text cannot be reformed—only people's perception of it can be changed.

Islamic eschatology teaches that a figure called the Mahdi will come and declare war on Israel, and Jesus will return to lead Muslims in killing all Jews in Israel. This is why the Hamas mission statement calling for the elimination of all Jews is consistent with Islamic belief, not an aberration. Sedra explained that the war between Israel and Palestine is deeply spiritual and prophetic—it's the child of the slave woman (Ishmael) fighting with the child of the free woman (Isaac) over whether salvation comes from Israel or Palestine, Jesus or Muhammad.

When asked about moderate Muslims, Sedra pointed out that Egypt is considered one of the most moderate Muslim countries, yet his family had to flee for their lives from both government persecution and the Muslim Brotherhood. He stated that Islam is not an assimilating religion but a conquering one. It has conquered Egypt, Libya, Indonesia, India (which became Pakistan), Malaysia, and parts of London, Europe, and Australia. Islam has been tested by time, space, and culture for 1,400 years—it is not a hypothetical threat but a proven historical force.

The Battle of Worldviews

Sedra emphasized that Christianity, Islam, and the LGBTQ ideology represent fundamentally different worldviews. Islam means "one who submits to God" and is totalitarian in nature. Israel means "one who wrestles with God." Christianity is about liberty in Christ who sets people free from bondage. These three worldviews cannot coexist peacefully because they have fundamentally different understandings of human nature, freedom, and the divine.

He explained that Islam is attractive to men, especially in a feminized culture, because it provides order, rules, and a place for masculine expression. However, Islam doesn't call men to be true men but to be tyrants. Christianity offers the proper balance—husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church and died for her, and wives submit to your husbands. This is neither oppressive like Islam nor chaotic like feminism, but the perfect design.

Sedra also addressed the fundamental question that separates Christianity from progressive ideology: Are human beings naturally good or naturally sinful? Progressives believe humans are naturally good, which means evil must be explained by external factors like poverty, systemic racism, or homophobia. Christianity teaches that humans are born sinners with a soul problem that requires repentance and transformation. This is why the LGBTQ movement says "born this way" and "perfect the way you are," while Christianity says "you must be born again" and "deny yourself." The LGBTQ religion celebrates pride and man becoming God, while Christianity celebrates humility and God becoming man.

A Call to Courage

Throughout his talk, Sedra issued a clarion call for Christians to demonstrate courage. He stated that pastors must decide whether they will be prophets or politicians—whether they will preach the truth of the Bible no matter the cost or be politically correct until their views become illegal. He warned that in the last 30 years, the church has gained many followers but has failed to create cultural change. Marriage has been defiled, children are killed before birth, drag queens are in the presence of presidents instead of pastors, and in schools, pride months are allowed but prayer is forbidden.

Sedra quoted Jonathan Benhoff: "The ultimate test of a moral society is what kind of world it will leave for its children." He declared that he would rather die for something than believe in nothing, and that he's prepared to face whatever consequences come from speaking truth. He acknowledged that he doesn't know what will happen to him by the end of the year as more laws are passed in Australia, but he refuses to be silent.

He concluded by reminding the audience that strength and courage are masculine attributes commanded by God to Joshua. Men and leaders must man up, take territory, and speak the truth of the Bible no matter the cost. The condition of a nation's morality is an outcome of the church's condition. If the church is weak, feminized, and silent, the nation will descend into paganism. But if believers will stand boldly, speak truthfully, and refuse to submit to unjust laws that forbid the preaching of the gospel, there is hope for revival and transformation.
