Charlie Kirk on Why Only 43 Percent of Young Americans Think America is Great and What We Must Do
Charlie Kirk sounds the alarm on a civilization-ending trend: only 43 percent of younger Americans believe America is a great country, down from 70 percent just a decade ago. Kirk argues that a nation's survival depends entirely on its ability to pass down its values to the next generation. He calls for a return to gratitude, recognizing America as the exception in human history, and offers a straightforward blueprint for reversing the decline, get married, work hard, focus on the good, and take the education of your children seriously.
Only 43 percent of the younger generation believes that America is a great country. That number stood at 70 percent just ten years ago. The collapse from 70 to 43 represents what Charlie Kirk describes as "civilization ending stuff." A country's ability or inability to replicate its values and beliefs to the next generation will determine whether or not that country continues to exist.
The Power of Gratitude
Kirk believes firmly that Americans should be thankful for what has been given to them. Gratitude is almost the fruit that makes everything else after it taste sweet. When you are thankful when you wake up, things just get a little bit better. When you're unthankful, things don't get better. Americans should adopt a position of gratitude for living in this country, recognizing that maybe there are some things that were gotten right, and that we are living in the exception not the norm of human history.
America's Exceptional Standard of Living
The reality is pretty remarkable when you examine the incredible facts. The poorest people in America are still in the top one to two percent on the planet. Kirk is not discounting that there is poverty in this country, but it is very relative. The standard of living enjoyed in the West versus almost all of Southeast Asia or the developing world should really give people pause.
For example, if just the Black people in this country had their own economic country, they would be the 18th wealthiest country on the planet. There is reason to pause and ask: maybe things aren't as bad as people are telling me. And if we are getting some things correct, what are we getting correct? And what we're getting wrong, how can we actually fix it?
A Simple Blueprint for National Revival
Kirk offers a straightforward solution: Get married and be loyal to that person. Work hard. Focus on the good. Make your goals sharp and clear. Be thankful more than you complain. And take the education of your children very seriously. If every person did that in this country, all of a sudden a lot of these problems would disappear.
