I Am Not A Victim & This Country Don't Owe Me Anything

[00:00] I'm not a victim in this country don't

[00:03] owe me anything

[00:05] slavery was a legal transaction nobody

[00:09] in Europe or nobody in this country had

[00:12] any right or any reason to abolish

[00:14] slavery if they didn't want to the

[00:17] reason why there was abolished is

[00:18] because people fought forward it's not

[00:21] because somebody owed them something

[00:23] it's because they fought forward the

[00:26] reason why I'm where I meant today is

[00:29] because I fought for it not because

[00:30] somebody owed me something not because

[00:32] somebody gave me a handout if anybody

[00:35] gives anything to me whether it's the

[00:36] abolishment of slavery or is to give me

[00:39] a job is because I earned that job I

[00:41] deserved that job because I worked for

[00:44] that job I give the person who has the

[00:47] power of the thing that I feel that I

[00:49] want I give them no choice but to

[00:51] believe that I'm the best candidate on

[00:53] the market listen when I was a police

[00:56] officer when I signed up for the police

[00:58] department and I went to her Academy I

[01:00] didn't expect anybody to give me a

[01:02] handout because I was black oh because

[01:03] historically police don't look like me

[01:05] there's not enough people in the class

[01:07] that I can identify with I don't need

[01:09] your sympathy

[01:10] I don't need short affirmative action I

[01:14] took that job by the reins and I went

[01:17] hard I worked out hard I took the test I

[01:20] study for my test I did everything that

[01:22] I can do to succeed and I gave them no

[01:24] choice but to hire me not because they

[01:26] had to because I earned it I earned it

[01:30] everything I do I earn it and I honestly

[01:33] believe that we tell people we got to

[01:35] get this in our minds I don't want to

[01:38] hear about racism no more I don't want

[01:39] to hear about slavery anymore I don't

[01:41] want to hear about discrimination

[01:42] anymore see there's only there's only

[01:46] one thing when it comes to privilege

[01:49] that I believe in and that's Christ's

[01:52] privilege I have the privilege of Jesus

[01:55] Christ that supersedes white privilege

[01:58] financial privilege economic privilege

[02:01] historical privilege that supersedes

[02:03] everything see God has the power to put

[02:06] me in a position that God wants me to be

[02:08] in and I don't care who you are where

[02:10] you come from what color skin you have

[02:12] well how much money you have in a bank

[02:14] account if God wants it for me it's

[02:16] going to happen inevitably and there's

[02:17] nothing that a man can do to stop that

[02:19] so it's time to let's stop talking about

[02:22] white privilege what are you what are

[02:24] you referring to white people don't owe

[02:27] you nothing what are you referring to

[02:29] white people don't owe you nothing

[02:31] you go out and get it you do the right

[02:35] thing to get it you have compassion

[02:37] nobody have to give you compassion

[02:38] you're supposed to have that in your

[02:40] heart that will determine whether you

[02:42] succeed or fail and a lot of y'all

[02:45] missing that and I just want to share

[02:47] this it is very very basic message with

[02:50] you about being accountable for your own

[02:53] actions about not looking for a handout

[02:55] looking for excuse of being a victim I'm

[02:57] not a victim of anything if any victim

[03:01] if any victimhood happens upon me it's

[03:04] because of me I'm a victim of my own

[03:06] failures I'm a victor of me not working

[03:09] hard enough I'm a victim of me not

[03:12] applying myself hard enough I'm a victim

[03:14] of not making them hire me because I'm

[03:17] the best doggone candidate that they

[03:18] ever seen and if they don't hire me I'm

[03:22] a victim I'm not going to the next job I

[03:24] the next job and busted my butt to make

[03:26] sure I have a job to feed my family I'm

[03:29] a victim of my own responsibility I'm

[03:33] sick of people calling us victims I'm

[03:35] sick of people thinking that we're

[03:36] victims and we won't handouts

[03:38] I don't want your handout if anything

[03:40] I'm gonna work hard to show you that I'm

[03:41] worth to hand up I'm going to work hard

[03:44] to show you that I'm worth to hand up

[03:46] not a handout I don't need your minimum

[03:48] wage I'm going to work harder than ever

[03:51] where that employer is gonna be forced

[03:53] to give me a raise so look at my work

[03:56] and say man I'm a guy I got to get his

[03:57] man a raise I have to get his man to

[03:59] promotion I cannot afford not to promote

[04:01] him to a position of leadership why

[04:04] because he worked so hard because he's

[04:06] so valuable

[04:07] not because I owe it to him is because

[04:10] he put in the work for it listen in this

[04:13] life man everybody don't get a

[04:15] participation trophy there's winners and

[04:17] there's losers what side are you on

[04:20] and if you win you could thank God

[04:24] and you can look at your efforts and say

[04:25] this is what it took to win if you lose

[04:29] thank God and look at the mirror said

[04:32] this is what caused me to lose what can

[04:35] I do to make this better what can I do

[04:37] to grow my brand what can I do to grow

[04:39] my abilities - next time I'll be the

[04:41] winner this is what young people need to

[04:44] hear from leadership I don't want to

[04:46] hear the Bron James I don't want hear

[04:48] none of these guys and I love them I

[04:49] think they're great people but I think

[04:50] they're telling us they're giving us the

[04:52] wrong message I don't want to hear them

[04:53] talk about oh and you black you always

[04:56] you know you go for everybody no you're

[04:58] not no you're not he lied to you

[05:00] he could have been far but he lied to

[05:02] you he lied to you you're a victim of

[05:04] what as long as you alive you could be

[05:07] whatever you want to be only in America

[05:09] you go somewhere else I can't tell you

[05:10] what's gonna happen to you but in

[05:12] America you work hard you beyond you

[05:14] could be all you can be like they said

[05:16] you could be all you be an Army Reserve

[05:18] you can be all you can be all you gotta

[05:20] do is put in the work and I guarantee

[05:22] you anybody watching this right now if

[05:24] you work hard people will support you

[05:26] they'll come across the outer support

[05:29] she's black right green orange they'll

[05:30] support you if you put in the work you

[05:32] work hard here you have a good heart you

[05:34] do the right thing people will support

[05:36] you would you be an NBA star being a

[05:40] victim yeah will you be a

[05:41] multi-millionaire being a victim yeah

[05:43] but you'll never be all you can be you

[05:47] would never make the impact that you

[05:49] could have made there's so much more out

[05:51] here and I think I'd young people need

[05:53] to know that so anyway I thought I

[05:54] shared it that those nuggets of
