University of South Florida Students Hold Vigil to Honor Charlie Kirk's Impact on Faith and Conservative Movement

[00:00] We are here at the University of South

[00:02] Florida in Tampa where there is a vigil

[00:04] for Charlie Kirk happening hosted by the

[00:07] local Turning Point chapter and the

[00:09] students want to say a final thank you

[00:12] to Charlie for everything he's done for

[00:15] them.

[00:26] Thank you, Charlie, for giving me

[00:27] inspiration to stand up for what I

[00:28] believe in, no matter the circumstances,

[00:30] no matter where I'm at. Uh, thank you,

[00:32] Charlie, for changing my mind about so

[00:35] many different things. Thank you for

[00:37] inspiring our whole generation.

[00:40] And I hope that we learn and that

[00:43] something good comes out of it. So,

[00:44] thank you for your sacrifice. We love

[00:46] you, Charlie. I would like to say thank

[00:48] you to Charlie for giving so many people

[00:49] a voice when they didn't think they had

[00:51] one. He gave people a voice when they

[00:53] were scared to speak up. and he just he

[00:55] made me feel confident in my opinions

[00:57] and my beliefs.

[00:58] I just want to say thank you, Charlie,

[01:00] for making me able to believe in myself

[01:02] as a woman and that I'm able to do

[01:05] things and accomplish things and not be

[01:07] scared of being a woman.

[01:09] Charlie, thank you for your courage for

[01:11] coming to campuses and teaching our kids

[01:14] the values

[01:15] and especially about Jesus. Thank you. I

[01:18] would thank Charlie for helping me

[01:20] reignite my faith with Christ through a

[01:23] really difficult time in my life.

[01:26] Watching him, I always felt very

[01:28] positive after his videos.

[01:31] And and I appreciated that he came from

[01:33] a logical standpoint as well as a

[01:36] Christian belief. And I read the Bible

[01:38] every night because of him before all of

[01:41] this as well. And I'm now pro-life

[01:44] because it comes from logic and ethics.

[01:47] And I'm so grateful and so blessed to

[01:50] have gotten to know him through the

[01:52] impact he had. And I'm thankful for him

[01:55] every day. And I will continue to pray

[01:56] for them. And

[01:59] God bless the Kirk family. Thank you,

[02:03] courage for Christ, your courage for the

[02:05] conservative movement, your courage

[02:07] standing up. Um, just thank you so much,

[02:10] Charlie, for your hard work, living such

[02:11] a godly example, being so faithful.

[02:14] you've done. and you've led a lot of

[02:16] people to their faith in Jesus Christ.

[02:18] You've done a lot for the conservative

[02:19] movement and we love you and we're going

[02:20] to keep it up.

[02:21] Um I want to thank you for

[02:24] this all of this. You Charlie really

[02:27] guided everyone to not only speak for

[02:30] what they believe in, but not be afraid

[02:32] of what everyone would say back. Um I

[02:35] feel like the biggest thing I hear with

[02:37] um Republicans and really just a lot of

[02:39] my friends is we're scared to show what

[02:41] we believe in. Um, I'm Catholic and I'm

[02:44] kind of scared sometimes to tell my

[02:45] friends, oh, you know, I believe in God

[02:47] and that's wrong. That should never be

[02:49] something that we fear. So, I think the

[02:50] biggest thing Charlie really supported

[02:52] and showed everyone was to speak for

[02:54] what you believe in and fight for what

[02:55] you believe in.

[02:56] Thank you, Charlie, for all the things

[02:57] you've done for the conservative

[02:59] movement. We've gotten so far in our

[03:02] country and we're going further and

[03:03] further every day because of you.

[03:04] I thank him for inspiring me to be the

[03:07] leader that I am today. Thank you,

[03:09] Charlie, for your bold faith and courage

[03:11] in Jesus Christ. We will miss you,

[03:13] Charlie. Thank you so much for being a

[03:15] beacon of light, hope, and truth for

[03:19] generations now and for generations into

[03:22] the future, both in America and

[03:25] globally. You changed many lives

[03:29] and we all pray for you, mourn you, and

[03:31] love you. I am so incredibly thankful

[03:34] for him waking up my faith and putting

[03:37] me back towards Jesus. And it's

[03:38] something that I'm so proud of myself

[03:41] for coming to, but I also I I owe so

[03:44] much to him and just him guiding me back

[03:45] towards that. And I'm I'm so incredibly

[03:47] thankful and God bless.

[03:49] Thank you, Charlie, for all that you've

[03:50] done for the kingdom of the Lord. Uh I'm

[03:53] truly inspired by the videos you posted

[03:56] online and uh the debates and like uh

[03:59] defending your faith uh of Jesus Christ.

[04:03] Uh we're truly inspired by you. Thank

[04:05] you Charlie for speaking the word of

[04:07] Christ into all of the college students

[04:10] that you came across and everyone that

[04:12] you uh that heard your voice and thank

[04:15] you for speaking that all the way to

[04:17] your death and

[04:20] dying for the word of Christ. Thank you,

[04:22] Charlie, for giving a voice to the my

[04:24] generation and for waking us up because

[04:28] the only thing that's going to heal us

[04:29] now is coming to Jesus and this country

[04:32] needs it more than ever. And I'm proud

[04:35] to be a support of Charlie and I always

[04:36] will.

[04:37] Charlie, thank you for standing up for

[04:38] Jesus, for preaching the gospel, for

[04:41] standing up for biblical truth about

[04:42] marriage, gender, sexuality, the family.

[04:46] Thank you for your stand and your

[04:47] martyrdom is not forgotten. You've

[04:49] inspired a generation of people to stand

[04:51] boldly for their beliefs in Jesus and uh

[04:54] the Constitution. And I just want to say

[04:56] thank you and we can't wait to see you

[04:58] again.

[04:59] I want to say thank you for holding me

[05:01] to my faith. I've lost it before and I

[05:04] watch you every day. Um it's a shame

[05:06] what happened to you, but I know that

[05:08] God has a plan and thank you for

[05:10] protecting women, real women, me and my

[05:12] friends, um from people who are playing

[05:15] pretend. And I appreciate you and God

[05:17] bless you and your family. Thank you.

[05:18] Thank you for your boldness to preach

[05:20] the gospel. It was so beautiful to see

[05:23] how he would go and he would he would

[05:26] preach and say the things of the Bible

[05:28] without fear and and worry and judgment

[05:30] of what other people would think of him.

[05:33] His um his boldness and his faith is

[05:34] something that I admire and I want to be

[05:38] able to evangelize the way that he did

[05:40] without fear.

[05:41] I would thank Charlie Kirk for uh his

[05:44] boldness, man. like sheesh to go around

[05:47] the country and and uh not only be a

[05:51] leader and stand up for what he believes

[05:52] in the truth and uh but being a leader

[05:56] in the faith as well. Um that's

[05:58] something I'm trying to trying to get at

[06:00] his, you know, his level of boldness.

[06:02] You know, Jesus was uh Jesus was the

[06:05] lamb, but he was also the lion.

[06:07] I want to say thank you. Um I go to a

[06:10] very very liberal college. Um, and I

[06:13] didn't know that before I chose my

[06:14] college. And while I'm very grateful for

[06:16] my education, I do feel like I'm not

[06:19] allowed to speak out on how I believe.

[06:21] And I fear that like my peers and my

[06:23] professors would treat me differently

[06:25] for my religious and my political views.

[06:27] So, I want to thank you for being bold

[06:29] and having the courage to stand up for

[06:31] what you believe in because it's

[06:32] something I'm still working on. But

[06:34] seeing your boldness and courage has

[06:36] really encouraged me to want to put

[06:38] myself out there and really talk about

[06:39] what I believe in with the people around

[06:41] me. Thank you, Charlie Kirk. I've been

[06:43] watching you forever. Uh, you're a great

[06:45] person. Um, your debates have always

[06:49] just helped me out and know I have a

[06:52] voice out here. Uh, thank you for

[06:54] everything, Charlie.

[06:55] Thank you, Charlie, for speaking out

[06:56] against things that you believed in and

[06:59] bringing light to issues that are would

[07:02] rather be um shadowed.

[07:04] Charlie, thank you so much for being the

[07:06] voice that some of us didn't get to

[07:07] have. Um, so many of us were afraid to

[07:10] speak out and this happening, as much as

[07:12] it is a tragedy, um, this is only going

[07:14] to make us stronger and make our voices

[07:16] be heard even more. I'm so thankful for

[07:18] everything you did for us and this

[07:20] country, this nation will never forget

[07:21] you and we will keep Turning Point

[07:24] going. Um, I'm so proud to be a member

[07:26] today. I'm going to my next meeting um,

[07:28] on Monday and I'm just so excited and

[07:31] thank you for everything you did.

[07:32] Seriously, the impact you made, it will

[07:34] never be forgotten and we will continue

[07:35] on stronger than ever. Thank you.

[07:37] I just thank him for being a voice for

[07:40] those that don't have it, those that are

[07:42] afraid to come out tonight. He was that

[07:44] person that, man, I could watch him on

[07:46] the video. I could watch him online and

[07:48] know that, hey, I'm not alone in my

[07:50] bedroom. I'm not alone on campus when

[07:51] everyone else hates me or thinks I'm

[07:53] wrong. I feel like I was listened to and

[07:56] I was broadcasted through someone else's

[07:58] voice.

[07:58] I would say thank you to Charlie for

[08:00] starting this organization and keeping

[08:02] God at the center of it and keeping

[08:04] family at the center of it. This has

[08:06] been an amazing turnout. We've had so

[08:08] many new people join. We're able to

[08:09] spread the gospel as well as Charlie's

[08:12] ideas that definitely stem from what we

[08:15] are and how our country was founded. We

[08:17] just want to thank him and his family

[08:19] for supporting everybody no matter their

[08:21] beliefs. It's been wonderful.

[08:23] I'm thankful for him voicing his

[08:25] opinions. I used to be a Democrat and he

[08:28] taught me a lot and I came back to Jesus

[08:31] about a year ago and he has been a big

[08:34] big part of my journey. So I thank him

[08:36] for everything he's done, everything he

[08:38] said and I praise that he's with Jesus

[08:41] in his arms.

[08:42] Thank you Charlie for speaking up and

[08:44] for trying to educate college students.

[08:46] They're the next generation. It's so

[08:48] important, especially for kids my age

[08:50] that are so highly affected by social

[08:52] media, a lot of fake news out there. And

[08:54] for actually giving a voice to the

[08:56] Republican party and to the right side

[08:58] to kids my age, it's so helpful. Thank

[09:01] you so much. And hopefully I know like

[09:04] your death has caused a lot of like

[09:06] hardship with everyone, but it's going

[09:08] to invoke like a change in everyone. And

[09:11] thank you for everything you've done.

[09:12] I am so thankful to him for teaching me

[09:15] to not be afraid. Um I was afraid to

[09:17] come here tonight a little bit um just

[09:19] with everything that's been going on. Um

[09:22] and he really like the other girl was

[09:23] saying he he woke me up and I I go here

[09:25] as a student and it's really difficult

[09:27] to be conservative in a group of people

[09:30] who are not and I've been called every

[09:32] name in the book honestly. Um and it's

[09:35] just I'm so happy that there's so many

[09:38] people here and I'm so happy that with

[09:40] the group that he has created and I

[09:42] realize that I am not alone. So I am

[09:44] most thankful for that. I wanted to take

[09:45] this opportunity to thank Charlie Kirk

[09:47] for the incredible opportunity he

[09:49] provided to me as well as thousands of

[09:51] other influencers to boldly stand firm

[09:53] in their conservative beliefs and also

[09:55] providing a platform for us to meet

[09:58] other conservatives to collaborate and

[10:00] truly some of the best friends that I

[10:02] will ever have in my entire life. I

[10:04] would not have met if it hadn't been for

[10:05] Charlie. I also want to thank him for

[10:07] inviting me and all the others to the

[10:09] White House. There's no chance I would

[10:10] have ever been there without him and

[10:12] what he stood for and what he will

[10:13] continue to stand for and what his

[10:15] legacy stands for. And I know he's in

[10:17] heaven now with Jesus and he's smiling

[10:20] down on all of us who are here to

[10:23] continue what he started and stand

[10:25] firmly in our beliefs.

[10:26] Charlie, thank you so much for inspiring

[10:29] so many young people, so many

[10:31] Christians, so many conservatives on

[10:33] these college campuses around the

[10:34] country. You will be dearly missed and

[10:37] your influence will not be lost. We will

[10:39] make sure of it. Rest easy. And we are

[10:42] praying for your family and for your

[10:44] soul.
