Candace Owens Exposes Congressional Resolution Condemning Her Speech and Rising Threats to First Amendment Freedom

Candace Owens confronts a bipartisan House resolution naming her for alleged antisemitism, arguing it misrepresents her statements and threatens free speech. She connects this to broader efforts to pass speech laws in America, warning that Congress and political figures are using antisemitism allegations to justify tyranny. Owens references Charlie Kirk's defense of the First Amendment and calls on Americans to resist what she views as the erosion of constitutional protections before speech restrictions mirror those already in place across Europe.

Congressional Resolution Targets Candace Owens

Candace Owens reveals that she has been named in a bipartisan House resolution presented by Representatives Mike Lawler and Josh Gottheimer condemning alleged antisemitic rhetoric. The Times of Israel headline from April 29th announced that the US House is considering a resolution condemning Hasan and Candace Owens for antisemitism. Owens states she has never spoken to Hasan in her entire life.

The resolution begins by condemning antisemitic hate-filled rhetoric and content disseminated by prominent online personalities. It asserts that the rise of digital media platforms has enabled individuals with large audiences to disseminate disinformation, commentary, and political viewpoints to millions of viewers worldwide, and that such influence carries a heightened responsibility to avoid rhetoric that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against any group, including Jewish individuals and communities.

Owens points out the irony that both representatives bringing forth the resolution take more than a million dollars from AIPAC. The resolution specifically accuses her of employing rhetoric that included conspiracy theories accusing Israel of controlling the United States government, promoting false claims that Jews are taught by ancient religious texts to hate non-Jews, and casting doubt on the truth of Holocaust survivors.

Claims About Epstein and Israel

One claim in the resolution states that Owens made the antisemitic claim that the United States is controlled by satanic pedophiles who work for Israel. Owens responds that this is not an antisemitic claim, but rather refers to Jeffrey Epstein and everyone who has defended the Epstein class. She emphasizes this is not explicitly Jewish, and that she has been name-checking Christian Zionist pastor after Christian Zionist pastor, arguing that the resolution should not suggest she is talking about all Jews.

Owens notes that when Donald Trump asked if people are still talking about Jeffrey Epstein, that is when he lost her entirely. She states that to her knowledge, President Trump is not Jewish. She maintains that pedophilia is satanic, and that the satanic pedophile Jeffrey Epstein worked for Israel. She calls these facts abundantly true, not a conspiracy, and says the fact that Congress is passing a resolution about her and not about people who protect Jeffrey Epstein says more about them.

Blood Libel Accusations and Mengele Discussion

The resolution goes on to claim that Owens repeated false claims that Jews are killing Christian children. Owens asks where she said this, stating she never made such a claim. She notes that she has no opportunity to defend herself or respond to any of these points, as the resolution will become part of US history record.

Beyond that, the resolution brings up that in July 2024, Owens did not mention Josef Mengele, but they erupted by saying that because she said there was bizarre propaganda that followed the Holocaust, which she maintains is objectively true. She points out that even the Auschwitz Birkenau Museum, which has a podcast, asserted that there were lies told about Josef Mengele. She questions whether it is a threat to Jewish people to acknowledge that some people lie or misunderstand.

Owens plays audio from the official Holocaust Memorial podcast discussing Josef Mengele. In the clip, the podcast states: "I want to note that many myths arose around Mengele in the camp such as the alleged sewing together of twins which did not happen simply because Mengele saw himself as a scientist, a theoretician, a man conducting research. Sewing twins together as Vera Alexander mentioned wouldn't make sense from a medical point of view because Mengele had sufficient medical knowledge and the medical understanding of the time allowed him to know that it would lead nowhere. So where did this legend come from? It likely originated from the fact that Mengele performed transfusions on twins without prior cross-matching tests. This meant if the donor's blood didn't match the recipient's it led to death. To perform a transfusion people had to be connected not sewn together but connected with needles and tubes so that the blood could flow. Therefore, this legend about Mengele as someone who sewed children together probably came from this."

Warning to Jewish Americans About Tyranny

Owens explains why this is important, speaking specifically to Jewish Americans. She draws a parallel to how some wanted to pass hate speech laws in the fog of George Floyd using race and black people to do this. She warns this is a threat to all people, and that Jewish Americans should pay attention because they are being used to push through tyranny.

She argues there is an underlying assumption that Jewish people are too stupid to understand the difference between antisemitism and normal commentary and debate. There is also an underlying assumption that they are too weak to deal with people who don't like them. Owens states she doesn't care if people don't like her because she's black. She doesn't care if someone's underlying thought process when they see a black person is hateful. She asks why we care so much about what other people think about us, calling it ridiculous.

She describes an underlying weakness that allows people who are actually tyrannical, people who are actually doing despicable things, people who actually support the Epstein files and want to protect that network of human traffickers to pretend they're the good guys. They find people who are weak and can't take being called names. Owens encourages all groups that they can handle being called a name as long as they get to remain free, stating that's more important. She warns they are trying to flip that on its head so they can usher in tyranny.

Speech Laws and the Threat to Freedom

Owens warns they want what's already happening in Europe and what's happening in Florida, where police show up at your door asking if you sent a tweet. She gets called offensive names every second of every day on X, but she doesn't care and it doesn't impact her day. She doesn't feel threatened by that. She acknowledges people have a right to think racist thoughts, and while she genuinely is not a racist, if people were racist, she understands the importance of making sure speech laws are not passed.

She states that is what is coming next because they have been signaling it for a week straight. Not just Erika Kirk, but also Karoline Leavitt came out and is now trying to equate speech to violence. Owens plays a clip where Leavitt states: "This political violence stems from a systemic demonization of him and his supporters by commentators, yes, by elected members of the Democrat Party, and even some in the media. The deranged lies and smears against the president, his family, his supporters have led crazy people to believe crazy things. Everyone who has a voice and a platform across this country, whether you're on television, a podcast host, you know, people listen, and when you have mentally disturbed individuals across the country who are listening to this crazed rhetoric about the president day after day after day, it inspires them to do crazy things."

Owens questions the logic, asking who is smearing and calling people names and dehumanizing people more than Donald Trump, who posts photos of her when she's sick. She asks if that now means that if an act of violence happens, she gets to say it's Trump's fault.

Melania Trump and Jimmy Kimmel

Owens notes that Melania Trump tweeted about Jimmy Kimmel, calling a joke that happened before the shooting hateful and violent rhetoric intended to divide the country. Melania stated that Jimmy Kimmel's monologue about her family is not comedy, that his words are corrosive and deepen the political sickness within America. She wrote that people like Kimmel shouldn't have the opportunity to enter homes each evening to spread hate.

Owens argues this is laying the groundwork for speech laws. She explains they start with Jimmy Kimmel, and if people don't defend him, which makes her physically sick as she doesn't want to defend him, she knows how it goes. You start outward, pretend it's legitimate based on Trump's assassination attempt, and use the chaos to quickly get speech laws passed. Then they come inward, and inward, and inward, until it's like grandma tweeted that someone was ugly and suddenly people are knocking on your door.

Charlie Kirk's Defense of Free Speech

Owens notes that Charlie Kirk was very opposed to speech restrictions. She tweeted about his stance and is glad to see it trending. On May 2nd, 2024, Kirk wrote: "Hate speech does not exist legally in America. There's ugly speech, there's gross speech, there's evil speech, and all of it is protected by the First Amendment. Keep America free."

She echoes that sentiment, noting that Charlie laughed at people when they made jokes about him, notoriously laughed when South Park dedicated an entire episode referring to him as the master debater. He cared deeply about allowing people to critique him, allowing people to come and debate him, and winning those debates. If he lost those debates, which Owens thinks never happened, he knew that meant he didn't have the stronger argument.

Why They Want to Control Speech

Owens asks why they are doing this and why they want to come for speech. She answers that they view independent media people who have kept the Epstein story alive, people who said they're not accepting the narrative regarding Charlie Kirk, as the barbarians at the gate. Charlie Kirk is still trending on Twitter almost 8 months into this situation, and they wanted this to go away the moment that Erica said she forgives him, referring to Tyler Robinson. They wanted everyone to forgive him and move on.

She states that to those in power, independent voices have built a mini empire while those in power control the media apparatus and the schools. Now people are pulling their kids out of school, talking about homeschooling, understanding how they lie for the first time, not looking left or right but looking up and down, and realizing how despicable these people are. People are not falling for their tricks about racism, sexism, and antisemitism, locking arms and realizing they actually don't hate each other. What they hate is the corruption that exists on the left, on the right, and all across the Western Hemisphere.

America as the Last Stand for Freedom

Owens warns that America might be the last stand for freedom in the West. If they get what they want and begin passing speech laws, it's over. She urges people to wake up, understand what's happening, and reject it. She encourages people to use their platform if they have one to speak out against it, write to their congressman if they are among the rare ones that perhaps are not bought and paid for, and if they have opportunities to subpoena people for truth, maybe take it.
