Charlie Kirk Challenges Lockdown Tyrants: There Is a God and You Are Not Him
Charlie Kirk delivers a stirring message at Legacy Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, confronting the theological crisis exposed by government lockdowns and church closures across America. Kirk argues that Christians are in the midst of a fundamental debate about where rights come from 'God or government' and challenges believers to recognize that lockdowns, not the virus itself, destroyed small businesses and devastated students. Drawing from Aristotle, the Founding Fathers, and Scripture, Kirk warns that tyrants throughout history have preserved power by preventing education, worship gatherings, and trust among citizens. He calls out pastors who remain silent, celebrates courage in the face of persecution, and outlines three non-negotiable voting principles for Christians: defending life, affirming biological truth, and protecting the church as essential.
The Theological Crisis Behind America's Lockdowns
Charlie Kirk opens by addressing what he sees as a fundamental theological debate that media and politicians refuse to acknowledge. The past year has exposed a critical distinction that Christians must understand: the virus itself did not close small businesses or harm students—lockdowns did. While acknowledging the virus is real and people should take proper precautions, Kirk emphasizes that government-imposed lockdowns have been responsible for the devastating economic, educational, and mental health consequences across the country.
Kirk directly addresses the governor of New Mexico, stating that she lacks a name worth remembering because she has done nothing but abuse the freedoms and liberties of citizens. His message to all lockdown politicians is simple and biblical: there is a God, and they are not Him. Kirk argues that these governors fundamentally misunderstand the American compact and the relationship between citizens and government.
Understanding Rights: God-Given, Not Government-Granted
Kirk explains what makes America exceptional: the consent of the governed and the recognition that rights come from God, not government. When churches are accused of violating government orders, Kirk flips the narrative—the government is violating the people's freedom to worship their Creator. In America, the government is supposed to work for the people, not the other way around.
Drawing from the Greek understanding of citizenship as co-rulership, Kirk emphasizes that the U.S. Constitution is the greatest political document ever written because it was designed to stand the test of time. The Founding Fathers understood human nature—that the raw material they were working with was fundamentally flawed. Citing Genesis 8, Kirk notes that the intention of man's heart is evil from youth, acknowledging the biblical doctrine of original sin.
The Constitution's brilliance lies in its design to prevent the collectivization of evil through tyrannical government. The Founding Fathers knew that when power becomes concentrated in government for lying, stealing, and killing, it becomes far more dangerous than individual acts of evil. This is why worship is constitutionally protected twice—through both the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause.
Separation of Church and State: A Misunderstood Concept
Kirk tackles the common phrase "separation of church and state," pointing out that it appears nowhere in the Constitution. The phrase comes from a single letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist Convention. Even accepting the premise of separation, Kirk argues, government bureaucrats have no business stepping foot in churches—the state must stay out of the church.
Why are authorities so focused on churches? Kirk observes that while protests continue, abortion clinics remain open, and cannabis dispensaries operate freely, churches face intense scrutiny. Every tyrant throughout history has been threatened by the gathering and organizing of citizens who recognize something more important than themselves. By worshiping today, Kirk tells the congregation, they are declaring to the governor that they answer to a higher power—and tyrants hate that message.
Aristotle's Warning About Tyranny
Kirk shares a striking passage from Aristotle's "Politics," written 2,400 years ago, that perfectly describes current conditions. Aristotle warned that tyrants preserve themselves by preventing schools and gatherings, keeping people unknown to one another, because familiarity breeds trust. This single sentence, Kirk argues, contains more wisdom than entire universities.
Breaking down Aristotle's warning piece by piece, Kirk explains why tyrants hate education—it leads forth in pursuit of truth, challenging their power. They despise gatherings where people enjoy themselves because happiness makes tyrants less relevant. Most importantly, tyrants work to keep people unknown to one another, which is accomplished today through mask mandates that dehumanize people and prevent facial recognition and trust.
Kirk clarifies his position on masks: he is "mask agnostic," meaning he has no knowledge of whether they work medically, and people should not condemn those who wear or don't wear them. However, he strongly opposes mask mandates, comparing them to Muslim veils in their dehumanizing effect. He believes God gave humans faces for a reason and considers forcing three-year-olds to wear masks a form of child abuse.
Trust, Kirk emphasizes, is what prevents society from descending into paranoid chaos. In most countries around the world, trust is not the norm—success requires gated communities, armed guards, and staying home after dark. America's culture of trust is precious and under attack.
The Moral Catastrophe of School Closures
The permanent closure of schools will be remembered as one of the greatest moral injustices in American history, Kirk declares. While understanding initial closures when the threat was unknown, the continued shutdowns through fall and beyond have created a lost generation. Millions of children, according to independent studies, never logged into a single Zoom class. These children needed physical accountability and presence—they will now be more likely to fall into crime, prison, and poverty.
Kirk challenges the phrase "trust the science," arguing that what politicians really mean is "trust the scientists I like." Real science shows that elderly populations and those with underlying conditions should take the virus seriously, that therapeutics and vitamins matter, and that schools and businesses must remain open. The science demonstrates that attempting to kill a mouse with a tomahawk missile—the current approach—uproots all of civil society. States with the most severe lockdowns actually have worse virus rates, hospitalization rates, and death rates than open states, along with all the additional problems they created.
Children in schools do not contribute to community spread of the virus, unlike their role with influenza. This moment requires reflection on how this happened and recognition that reversing the damage—inflation from money creation, educational devastation, mental health crises, opioid addiction—will take decades, if it can be reversed at all.
The Courage Crisis in American Christianity
Kirk quotes General George S. Patton: "Moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men." The courage demonstrated by Pastor Steve and his congregation represents one of the most absent characteristics in America today. In the social media era, people understandably fear the cost of speaking out publicly.
However, Kirk challenges Christians specifically: if you truly believe Jesus is King, that He is equal part of the Godhead, that you are born new with everlasting life waiting for you—what should stop you from speaking with courage? Nothing. Kirk questions whether those who remain silent actually believe what they claim to believe. While not judging individual walks with God, he asks: where is the fruit?
American Christianity has bigger budgets, larger buildings, and more baptisms than ever before, yet society continues its moral decline. Children are aborted, transgender ideology spreads, drugs are legalized, families break apart, and divorce rates soar. Christians have been given more than any generation in history—the wealthiest, freest, most prosperous country ever founded by Christian men and women inspired by Scripture. The Founding Fathers even put Leviticus on the Liberty Bell.
According to the Parable of the Talents, those given more are expected to multiply what they have received and will be judged accordingly. Christians will be judged on whether they preserve the gift called the United States of America.
America as Benevolent Superpower
Kirk rejects the notion that human beings are basically good, calling it a belief only held by those who have never studied human history. The legacy of slavery, ongoing abortions, the Holocaust, and deaths under Mao and Stalin prove otherwise. What makes America different is that it is the first benevolent superpower in world history.
America has power to conquer continents but generally strives to liberate rather than occupy. South Korea exists today because America sent war-weary troops after World War II to push back communists. One hundred million people now live free in South Korea because of American sacrifice. America asked nothing in return except land to bury its dead.
Kirk is critical of many U.S. foreign policy decisions but distinguishes between perfection and excellence. America is not perfect—it deals with flawed human beings—but it is excellent. If America falls, religious freedom worldwide will suffer the greatest blow in history.
The Serpent in the American Church
Kirk identifies a dangerous narrative infiltrating churches: that America is racist, terrible, and not worth loving. This contradicts Scripture's instruction to pray for the peace of the city you are in and care for your nation. The concept of a nation—with borders, values, laws, and governance—comes from the Bible. Nations differ fundamentally from kingdoms.
Some pastors are saying America is not exceptional, displaying what Kirk calls a terrible combination: deceitfulness, arrogance, and resentment. American churches fall into three categories. First, churches like Legacy Church that remain wide open with courageous, unapologetic pastors. Second, scared and complacent churches with pastors unprepared for this moment—good people paralyzed by inaction who need encouragement to lead, follow, or get out of the way. Third, complicit churches that embrace organizations like BLM and claim America is not worth saving.
Kirk specifically criticizes Rick Warren, whose book "The Purpose Driven Life" impacted Kirk's life, for not finishing well. Warren recently stated that God doesn't care how you vote and that there is no difference between the two parties. Kirk calls this unbiblical, insisting that God cares about everything we do—whom we marry, how we act, where we work, how we spend money, even how we eat. The claim that God is morally indifferent on issues like abortion represents an Eastern religious deviation from biblical Christianity.
Three Non-Negotiable Rules for Christian Voting
Kirk outlines three rules for how Christians must vote, applicable regardless of political party affiliation. Biblical heroes like Esther, Mordecai, Daniel, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, and Joseph were all involved in secular government for God's purposes as counselors to kings. Every Christian must vote—this is the bare minimum.
First, Christians must vote for life. The issue begins and ends with what we are willing to do for those who cannot protect themselves. Voting against the abortion massacre is essential to following the gospel. Kirk acknowledges the pro-life movement must improve at advocating for adoption, citing his own pastor's 20-year public offer to adopt any child instead of the mother having an abortion—an offer never accepted.
Kirk defends against the accusation that pro-life advocates only care about "pro-birth." Every policy position he holds supports a culture of life: more police officers so children are not shot on the way to school, school choice so minority kids can learn to read, strong borders to prevent sex trafficking, opposition to drug legalization to protect teenagers from opioid addiction, and promotion of marriage to prevent childhood poverty. Every position centers on protecting the innocent and elevating human beings rather than addicting them to government programs.
Second, no Christian can support the destruction of the truth that there are only two genders. Kirk never imagined this would become a contentious issue. Chaos and confusion are tools of the enemy; Jesus brings truth, which provides clarity, stability, and direction. Gender chaos represents one of the most immoral, under-discussed issues in America. There are only two genders—male and female—as both science and Genesis affirm.
This matters not just to stem chaos but because once you cannot define something as scientifically simple as XX or XY chromosomes, objectivity itself collapses. This explains why educators now claim mathematics is racist and that two plus two does not equal four. The war on biological reality becomes a war on all objective truth.
Third, every Christian must vote for candidates who believe the church is the most essential institution in the country. The church works for God, not for government bureaucrats. Churches must never close again, and citizens must be willing to face arrest en masse if necessary.
Kirk recalls a "skinny jean-wearing pastor" from New York who preached about needing a "Daniel moment" before lockdowns began. The story of Daniel illustrates this perfectly: when Daniel learned that praying would violate the law and result in punishment, he did not respond with violence. Instead, he went to his place of worship, opened the windows toward the city for everyone to see, and conducted his prayer. This is the Daniel moment that Legacy Church and its pastor are passing, while most pastors simply shut down and became YouTube channels.
Socialism's Biblical Violations
Beyond the three non-negotiables, Kirk notes that socialism directly violates two of the Ten Commandments: "Thou shall not covet" and "Thou shall not steal." Christians who claim to follow Scripture while voting for abortion, gender ideology destruction, and treating churches as non-essential are living in contradiction.
New Mexico Ready for Awakening
Kirk believes New Mexico is ready for spiritual awakening. What Legacy Church is doing will send shockwaves throughout the state. He encourages the congregation to run for local office and take their children's education seriously. Tyrants are getting nervous because they have abused power for too long, and people from all backgrounds will look to the church for truth and guidance.
Three Types of People
In individual lives, Kirk identifies three types of people: those who do nothing (forget them), fighters, and those who help fighters. Fighters and those who help them are moral equivalents. Not everyone can do what Kirk does—facing armed security, protests, and death threats everywhere he goes. He does not claim victim status; persecution in Jesus' name is a promise and a blessing.
People have different ways to pursue truth. Some are in positions where public support would cost them jobs or careers—they can pray, be active, and support those sticking their necks out. Others are in positions of authority as bosses, managers, or pastors and can start speaking out regardless of cost. The key is choosing one of these two categories and acting with courage.
Courage is hard, but the best way to inspire it is showing people what it looks like—exactly what Pastor Steve demonstrates.
Practical Action Steps
Kirk offers concrete ways people can help. One simple, free action is subscribing to podcasts, which helps prevent digital cancellation by big tech companies. When thousands subscribe through the podcast app on their phones (the purple app on iPhones), it creates organic reach that cannot be shut down overnight. This might sound self-promotional, but digital assassination is a real threat.
More importantly, Kirk closes with an invitation to those who do not know Jesus personally. God made every person in His image and wants relationship through His Son's perfect sacrifice. Kirk gave his life to Jesus years ago, calling it the greatest decision he ever made. He invites anyone new to church, who came for politics, or who has walked away from God to make that decision today.
Altar Call and Salvation Message
Pastor Steve takes over, expressing his love for Kirk and predicting a lifelong friendship. He invites those who heard Kirk's testimony about accepting Jesus to consider the same decision. The greatest decision of Pastor Steve's life was also asking Jesus to be Lord—a journey of learning what lordship means: submitting personal will to God's will revealed in Scripture.
Pastor Steve emphasizes that people have been lied to and deceived, but God will not be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap. The deception about tyranny and lockdowns was masterfully exposed. God commanded believers not to neglect gathering together, knowing this day would come when people needed to gather despite persecution.
God knew before the foundation of the earth that each person would be in that room at that moment. He knows whether each person is born again, knows their every movement, and still sent Jesus to die for them personally. Jesus agreed to die for murderers, thieves, and the ungodly—for everyone, regardless of what they have done.
Wisdom begins with reverential fear of God, which explains why the world lacks wisdom and why decision-makers operate without it. Every person has been placed on earth for a reason, but they will never know their true purpose until they let their Creator in. God becomes the potter, molding the clay into the person He designed them to be. The journey will not be easy, but believing in God provides backbone, stamina, and courage to recognize that death is the worst earthly outcome, and after that, persecutors have no power.
True freedom is not circumstantial but based on Jesus dying to free people from sin, guilt, and shame. The Bible says today is the day of salvation—not tomorrow—meaning this present moment is the best time to get right with God. Whether people are physically present, online, or watching later, God's Spirit is tugging on hearts and minds.
With heads bowed in respect, Pastor Steve explains that while Scripture does not require bowing heads, bowing hearts and knees is necessary. He invites people to respond to God's drawing—those who have walked with God and walked away, and those who have never truly given God permission to lead their lives. Many have prayed prayers multiple times without meaning them, wanting insurance against hell rather than relationship with God. God does not sell hell insurance; He offers life and relationship with the Father through Jesus alone.
People across the room and online lift their hands, indicating their decision to accept Christ. Pastor Steve leads them in a prayer of salvation, with the entire congregation praying in support. The prayer includes believing in Jesus as God's Son, confessing Him as Lord, giving Him permission to lead, and purposing to follow His ways. The service concludes with applause and thanksgiving for those who made decisions for Christ.

i think that we fail to realize as christians that we're in the midst of a big theological debate in our country and it's a theological debate that the media and the politicians don't want to admit this last year has really exposed it so we have to be very careful and specific the way that we describe what has happened in the last year for example people say the virus has caused a rise in suicides people say the virus has caused small businesses to close that's incorrect the virus has killed people the virus is a real thing we know how it works we know how it operates take proper precautions act responsibly use your liberty for good you could use your liberty for bad there's plenty of ways to do that but the virus did not get rid of the small businesses the lockdowns got rid of the small businesses the lockdowns [Applause] have negatively impacted students across the country in a way that's hard to even comprehend and so for the governor and her team and i mean this non-sarcastically i don't remember her name because she she is not doing anything worthy of me to remember her name seriously i no siri i mean that and i say this in the bible names mean a lot right names are important she she doesn't have a name worth remembering she's done nothing but abuse your freedoms and liberties and she's part of the ruling class i'll get that in a second so i have a message for her and for all the lockdown politicians in both parties but mostly in one party and this is exactly what the bible tells us and it's more applicable today than ever before number one there is a god and you are not him it's that simple and what these governors don't understand what your governor in particular does not understand is what is the compact that we're in in this country what's the relationship that we enter into and so a line of attack towards this church and your pastor is that you are violating the orders you've heard this before right you're violating i've been told they're only allowed to be 33 open so look around it looks like we're violating right looks like we're violating [Applause] anyone who says that anyone who believes that has no idea what makes the american experiment so different you understand how exceptional this country is we this is the greatest experiment in civil government in the history of the planet this country i truly believe is a gift from god and we're currently squandering it and so what makes this country different is the consent to the governed they require our permission but even more than that it's a simple recognition of where do rights come from see if our children are being educated properly which they generally aren't this is one of the most important things that you could teach a young person where do rights come from you hear people all the time well i have a right to this and i have a right to that slow down who gives you your rights god gives you your rights you're exactly right not government and so when they say that you are violating the government's order it's the exact opposite the government is violating your freedom to worship your creator they're violating you you're violating nothing what makes this country different and what we must defend at all cost and i mean that because the stakes have never been higher is the government is supposed to work for us we're not supposed to work for the government going back to the greek word of citizen it means co-ruler if you're a citizen you are a co-ruler the consent to the governed so if you read the u.s constitution which is the greatest political document ever written in the history of the world now why is the constitution so amazing the constitution's so amazing and it's the longest lasting political document because it was not written for the times it was written to stand the test of time so it wasn't written just for one period of time and so the founding fathers were so brilliant and they understood that the raw material that they were dealing with was terrible the raw material were human beings we're pretty awful we're terrible actually so when you deal with the raw material of selfish sinful broken human beings and you're able to create anything that is at least better than awful you're doing okay so the founding fathers knew this verse genesis 8 now any christian who says that human beings are naturally good is ignoring this truth in the bible and when the lord smelled the pleasing aroma the lord said in his heart i will never again curse the ground because of man for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth neither will i ever again strike down every living creature as i have done what is the lord saying we're screwed up from the moment we're born natural sin original sin that's who we are in the state of nature founding fathers understood this they said we're not going to be able to create perfect people what made the founders so different which is why the constitution is more relevant today than ever before is they knew the worst thing that could possibly happen was not singular evil it wasn't just one person murdering another person that's very bad it wasn't one person stealing a single thing it wasn't one person telling one lie no no there's something much worse than that this is a great question to ask a young person in a civics course right again if our teachers were doing their job they'd be taught to teach this which is what's the worst thing you could do what's the worst thing you could do people might say murder lie oh that's all bad but what's worse than that the collectivization of that where all of a sudden not just there's a singular theft but ultimate power government becomes entrenched towards lying stealing murdering killing that is far more evil than a single person doing that so the founding fathers realized that if we don't prevent against that collectivization of evil tyranny then all the freedoms that we momentarily enjoy will disappear that's why what you are doing today worshiping our creator getting closer to the person who brought you to this planet who made you in his image is constitutionally protected twice in the us constitution the establishment clause and the free expression clause the founding fathers were so clear about the role of the church the role of worship that they went out of their way to say that government has no right no power to ever get into the church and as steve said we touched on this a little bit yesterday people say separation of church and state who's heard this before all the time do you know that's nowhere in the constitution nowhere it's not in the constitution it's in a single letter that thomas jefferson wrote to the danbury baptist convention one letter and they took it it's immoral it's unconstitutional it's unbiblical but let's pretend the fools are right let's pretend that separation of church and state is the way we should live then government bureaucrats have no business ever stepping foot in a church keep the state out of the church so why is it this is worth thinking and contemplating why is it that they're so focused on the church do you notice how obsessed they are about the church blm inc walks through the streets and they riot and they no social distance and they say that's okay abortion clinics remain open cannabis dispensaries remain open yet it's the church that they're obsessed with why because every tyrant and i'm going to dive into that word because it's a very important word is threatened by the gathering and the organizing of citizens co-rulers that recognize something is more important than them what you're doing today whether you realize it or not is you are saying hey governor whatever her name is i answer to a higher power than you do that's what you're saying today and they don't like that that drives them mad they want to get rid of it look at all the tyrants in the bible murdering of infants going after anyone that might challenge their authority this pattern replicates itself now we as christians have to do a better job of explaining what is happening in our country is a war on human nature you could have new phones new technology faster cars better airplanes human beings are not going to change the gospel is as relevant today as it was when it was first spoke when it was first written down it's just as relevant so in my spare time i read aristotle and i encourage all of you to do that um i'm half kidding but no i i was i was reading this the other day from a really brilliant guy dr larry aaron who was doing a lecture from hillsdale college great place and i i i was reading this after the lecture and i could not believe this and i'm going to read this from from you and if you don't know aristotle was one of the great classics who's taught by plato and one of the main reasons why the gospel spread in the first place and i think that if you really want to dive deep into the scriptures understand ancient greek it's a very important thing but i read this and i said this is exactly what is happening right now so he wrote a book called politics it's one of the most 2 400 years ago and do you know what he warned against i'll read it tyrants preserve themselves by not letting there be any schools or collegial gatherings for leisured pursuits and doing everything that will keep all people as unknown to one another as possible since familiarity breeds a greater degree of mutual trust that one sentence has more wisdom than the entire university of new mexico it's true one sentence let's read this slower piece by piece and by the way aristotle was not a christian he actually was on earth before christ ever came to be but aristotle's thinking writings and influence paved the way for christ's ministry and also his reemergence with thomas aquinas allowed the gospel to spread so some christians say charlie why are you quoting a non-christian in church i think that's a very sloppy accusation but if that's what you're thinking there's a lot of wisdom aristotle makes the argument that there is a god and he's worthy of exploring okay let's go through this again tyrants preserve themselves by not letting there be any schools why education the pursuit of truth challenges tyrants power education comes in the latin word to lead forth they don't want children to be led forth in the pursuit of truth to defend liberty keep people locked down in their homes looking at a computer screen addicted to tick tock no friends no no contact we'll get that in a second other collegial gatherings what just happened there we were just worshiping beautiful worship by the way it's really good why do tyrants hate that because you're actually enjoying yourself tyrants need you to be miserable they do the happier you are the less relevant they are the happier you are the less likely are to listen to that woman from santa fe that just goes endlessly about whatever she has to say and doing everything this is very important tyrants this is 2 400 years ago things don't change you have new technology you could talk faster whatever human beings are the exactly the same carbon copied and this is something the left does not believe by the way the left believes that human beings are malleable yet you could change them good luck we'll get to that that will keep all people as unknown to one another how do you keep people unknown to one another you make them all wear masks all the time and again if you're wearing a mask here i am mask agnostic i mean that i really am agnosis means without knowledge they might work they might not work and you should not make fun of people that wear masks i mean that non-sarcastically and you shouldn't condemn people that don't wear them no i mean that seriously however the mask mandate mandate i'm totally against i'm not agnostic on that the mandate where i'm going to make you feel uncomfortable and i've come under great accusation for this so bring it on i think that the muslim veil dehumanizes people and i think the masked mandate dehumanizes people i'm going to say that publicly it does i think that god gave us a face for a reason and i think it's child abuse to have three-year-olds walking around the masks on i really do i think it's child abuse oh they're gonna love that you're welcome steve again this is 2400 years ago there's so much wisdom that came before us and the nonsense they teach our kids in these schools today you know one thing and i study the left because they follow me around the country so angry do you notice how angry they are i thought they won every election they're the angriest winners i've ever seen in my life no seriously they're always angry they're burning and they're yelling and anyways just we're happier and we lost it's like we're like we have more cheerful and i'll get to that cheerful yeah i know i know cheerfulness is actually the product of wisdom we'll get to that in a second that's why christians are happier people okay so as possible since familiarity breeds a greater degree of mutual trust why is trust important well trust means that you don't have to live in a gated community trust means that you're okay walking into a public event and not thinking you're gonna be mugged outside trust is all that keeps you from living in an endless paranoia hell it's trust what we've grown accustomed to in america and those those you that have visited the third world you know that's not the case there's no little pieces of trust it's not the norm in most countries around the planet it's not that if you have any sort of success you're in gated communities armed guards chauffeured in the house by lock by the sun goes down you're not going out trust is important why do tyrants not want you to be able to trust other people makes them more important and so not letting there be any schools the fact that we close schools in our country permanently is going to be one of the greatest moral injustices ever done in the history of our country ever the closure of schools was an unbelievable mistake rise in suicide opioids mental health problems child developmental problems i understand a couple weeks of school closures we didn't know what we were dealing with i get it even a month then you kind of roll into the summer fine but then the fall and then all the way to now we are seeing a lost generation we are going to see millions of people you know there are millions of people according to independent study that have never logged into a zoom class they needed to be able to go to a class they needed to be able to held accountable what's going to happen to those people they'll get lost in the system they'll be more likely to go to prison commit crimes fall off the grid why well because we were told to trust the science to lie what they meant and what they should say what the governor should say is no no trust the scientists i like big difference if we were to say trust the science we'd say there is a portion of the american population that should take this very seriously over the age of 60 underlying health conditions comorbidities focus on therapeutics vitamin d zinc socially distant stay at home if you have to we will take care of you the science says schools must be open the science says that businesses need to be open the science says that when you try to kill a mouse with a tomahawk missile which is what we've done you're going to uproot all of decent civil society and bring us in a direction that no one likes that's what the science says but they politicize science why because they see an opportunity to make america in their image that's why and i hate to be this blunt and this cynical there is no other explanation for the lockdown of america beyond what they did zero the states that are the most lockdowns are worse than the states that are opened up when it comes to virus rates hospitalization rates and death rates they're the worst not to mention all the other issues that they're going to have to deal with now the science tells us that children in schools are not contributing at all to community spread with the flu that actually is not the case believe it or not children are spreaders of the flu for whatever reason a chinese coronavirus which by the way that's what everyone should call it the chinese coronavirus no such spread and so this is a moment where we have to take a step back over this last year and we have to ask ourselves the question how did this happen because what just happened is going to take decades of work to reverse if we even want to reverse it the inflation that's about to come the money we created out of thin air the schools the closures the mental health issues the opioid addiction and it's all self-imposed almost all of it and so how did this happen well number one i'm gonna read you a quote from george s patton another person that isn't taught in our schools in fact he's called the white supremacist which is just so terrible and this this this describes your pastor perfectly moral courage is the most valuable and usually the most absent characteristic in men courage what your pastor has and what you have is one of the most absent characteristics in america it is why in the social media era and what we're in it's nothing new people are afraid understandably of the cost that comes with speaking out publicly now if you don't believe in jesus and you don't believe the bible is the word of god i actually judge you at a different degree here i do but if you believe that jesus is king of the world if you believe that jesus is an equal part of the godhead if you believe that you're born new and you have everlasting life waiting for you and somehow you're in a position where you're like i'm scared of what people will think about me i think to myself and i struggle to say this do you actually believe that because if you believe that you have everlasting life if you've been born new then what should be stopping you from speaking with courage and getting out into the public square nothing and i'm not here to judge people's own walk and all that that's not my place it's not what i am saying though is where's the fruit american christianity has more higher budgets bigger buildings and more baptisms than ever before yet we abort more children we have transgender bathrooms we're legalizing drugs as far as the eye can see more children are going to be raised out of wedlock than with stable families 52 divorce rate and we look around we say what is the imprint that american christianity has made on the world bigger budgets bigger buildings more baptisms i'm all for that trust me the parable the talents i think is the best application for this in short the wisdom of the parable of the talents is that if you are given more you're expected to multiply what you've been given and you will be judged accordingly that's the short wisdom of it we live in the wealthiest freest most prosperous country in the history of the world that was founded by christian men and women inspired by the bible of activist preachers of the black robe regiment after the first great awakening from the teachings of the bible what did they put on this is how i knew the founding fathers are brilliant they put leviticus on the liberty bell that's how you know they're just awesome and you know people like andy stanley mega church pastor from georgia says you know we shouldn't teach the old testament we should that's that's complete nonsense that's true this is what most christians are talking about right now and i'll get to that in a second we're going to be judged on whether or not we preserve this gift called the united states of america at the very least if you try to do something about it remember the raw material we're working with you know i always love these campus leftists they say human beings are basically good and i say only someone who has never studied human history can believe something like that truly look at the legacy of slavery look what we're doing right now a million abortions every single year in our country the holocaust auschwitz 50 million people killed between mao's china and the ussr and we're supposed to believe that human beings are basically good no so what makes america different is the first ever benevolent superpower in the history of the world ever show me another time where a country has had as much power as we have had and generally with always striving to do the right thing we have power that could conquer an entire continent but generally we care more to liberate than to occupy for example show me another country that has committed so much for the liberation of people that were and surf the more in bondage south korea exists because of the united states of america we call it the forgotten war the korean war the communists were marching all throughout the korean peninsula they were going to occupy the entire korean peninsula it would all be north korea the whole thing we send hundreds of thousands of our troops who are war weary already after world war ii pushed back the communists to what is now the dmz and then a new country was formed south korea a hundred million people live free today in south korea because of the selfless sacrifice of the united states of america 100 million people and by the way i'm a critic of many foreign policy decisions of the united states in the last couple hundred years i have never made the argument that america is perfect of course not you're dealing with human beings but we are excellent it's a big difference and what did we ask for in return in south korea do we colonize them do we ask for ports of entry five percent tax tax all we asked for was land to bury our dead that's all we asked for we said give us the land so we could bury the people that sacrificed so you can live free what other country has done that you think the soviet union went around to other countries liberating people from bondage they did the opposite they occupied they controlled and they terrorized this country shatters the gospel will shatter alongside of it it will be the greatest death blow to religious freedom in world history we take this so for granted and in fact there is a serpent that is going around the american church america is a racist country america is a terrible place why do you love your country this is a lie first of all tells you in the scriptures to pray for the peace of the city of which you are in to care for the nation of which you're in what is a nation where do we get the idea of a nation the bible the idea of a nation borders values laws people who govern that's a biblical idea nation versus kingdoms big difference so that so we get this idea of a nation from the bible america falls the world will fall alongside of it and some christians and some pastors are going alongside and they're saying what's the difference this country's not that great there's nothing special about us we're not exceptional it's what they're talking about and what unbelievable pride and foolishness a terrible combination i might add deceitfulness arrogance and resentment the three worst things someone in public life could be and the american church right now is currently failing that test and they're not failing it a little bit they're failing it a lot there are three different types of churches in america when it comes to this the first is the church that you're in wide open great pastor unapologetic very courageous the second type of church is scared and complacent i'm gonna offer some grace to them i don't think they've ever been trained or prepared for this moment i really do i think there are good pastors here in this general area that are completely taken by surprise someone wants to shut us down i thought the church was always something that was going to be protected and i think some of them are good people that are kind of paralyzed and inaction and we need to go to those pastors and say hey lead follow or get out of the way it's really that simple and go follow people like pastor steve if you want to actually pursue what is right but the last type of church is the one that i've dedicated plenty of my time energy and public platform vocalizing towards and that's the complicit church this is a very big problem i'm talking about the church that embraces blm incorporated i'm talking about the church that says that america is not a country worth saving or preserving i'm talking about someone like rick warren who played an impact on my life growing up wrote a great book purpose-driven life but he's not finishing well he's not in fact it's so it really is sad rick warren is not finishing the race well remember it says in the bible that this is a long journey this is a marathon and if you all know that if you don't finish well what good is the whole race right it doesn't matter how strong you start this is a long arc and finishing well's tough you guys know that that are runners i used to run before i had a terrible back injury finishing well takes you got to dig deep right that's where you really find out who you are finishing well that's where all of a sudden the head games start to you know for those of you that have run marathons before mile 20 mile 21 that is not a physical game right it's all up here so a lot of these pastors are not finishing well rick warren comes out and he says god doesn't care how you vote he says there's really no difference between the two christine kane said the same thing it doesn't matter who's in charge now to believe that god doesn't care about anything that you do is so unbelievably unbiblical god cares about everything that you do he cares about who you marry how you act where you work where you spend your money even how you eat all of it god cares about all those things but to say that god is somehow morally indifferent that he kind of takes a neutral position on the issue of abortion so i have three rules three rules of how christians should vote and it's not even right versus left it's this simple that every christian first of all must vote every christian and that's the least that you should do like the very minimum all throughout the old testament people we view as heroes we're involved in secular government for god's purpose esther mordecai daniel jeremiah nehemiah joseph you name it and they were the counselor to the king for god's purpose three rules it's very simple and if any christian violates these when they vote then i believe that they're pursuing some form of a eastern religious christianity that is a complete and total deviation from the word of god number one it's pretty simple starts and finishes with what you are willing to do with those that can't protect themselves the issue of life if you do not vote for life and vote against the massacre of the unborn in our country then you're not actually following the gospel now i will say that sometimes the pro-life movement needs to do a better job of advertising advocating and living out adoption i've said this before however pastor rob mccoy my pastor from calvary chapel thousand oaks has a public challenge the last 20 years he says any member of our community that is thinking of having a child i will adopt that child for you instead of you having an abortion never been taken up on that offer right and so i do we have to do a better job of that and a culture of all of life now let me tell you what bothers me the most is the serpent in the church says oh you only care about pro-birth you've heard this before every public policy position that i articulate and that i believe in is for a culture of life i want more police officers because i want less children to be shot on the way to school i want school choice so minority kids can learn to read i want strong borders so women aren't sex trafficked across our southern border i don't want drugs to be legalized so that our teenagers aren't addicted to opioids every position that we articulate is a pro-life position every single one i want people to get married before they have kids because they're less likely to go into poverty when they have a mother and a father in the home so do not allow anyone to say oh you only are pro-birth every position that i believe in and that you should believe into is around a culture of life the protection of the innocent the elevation of the human being not addicting them to government programs or government welfare but giving them the tools the skills the education which remember means to lead forth to be able to be self-sufficient and to succeed number two no christian can ever be supportive of the destruction of the truth that there are only two genders and i never thought this would be an issue this is a new phenomenon if i would have said this 20 years ago you guys have been like yeah okay chaos confusion they're tools of the enemy jesus brings truth when you have truth what do you have clarity stability and direction you ever try to drive somewhere without a map you ever try gps goes out chaos what are you willing to do when you're lost anything pay for directions anything when you're lost you panic what happens when you panic you're easier to control chaos is a gateway to allow people to control you gender chaos and confusion what's happening in our country is one of the most immoral not talked about issues in our country i've gone all in on this issue there are only two genders man and woman science says this the bible has said this it's a truth very early on in genesis it doesn't take us that long to find it why is this important it's important not just to try to stem the rise of chaos and confusion but it's also important for something much more simple than this which is as soon as you can't define something as scientifically simple as an xx or an xy chromosome what else are you all of a sudden start to not define for example they are now saying that math is racist i'm not kidding it's a new thing that two plus two does not equal four as soon as you have a war on objectivity as something as similar as a chromosomal structure of how god made you it all goes number three every christian must vote and support candidates who believe that the church is the most essential institution in the country they work for us the church should never be closed again ever for the future of america learn this lesson and say you're gonna have to come and arrest us all now i remember one of the one of the skinny jean-wearing pastors from new york he gave this long this long sermon about we need to have a daniel moment in the church this is before the lockdowns right we have a daniel moment whole thing about daniel all this and i i i love the book of daniel it's actually a beautifully written book and an important daniel daniel and i'm paraphrasing the story was basically conspired against and put into a trap where basically if he was going to pray he was going to be violating the law so what does daniel do daniel hears the order understands the punishment doesn't do anything violent goes back to his home or his place of worship opens up the windows towards the city for everyone to see and conducts his prayer that's a daniel moment that all of you are passing and your pastor is passing where most pastors are saying oh i'm not allowed to gather okay shut it down let's just become a youtube channel that's what they're saying remember what aristotle said not letting there be any schools or other collegial gatherings for leisure pursuits as possible since familiarity breeds a greater degree of trust what's happening here today there are people that are going to need to see friends that are going to need to be around other human beings i reject this movement that we are nothing more than automatons looking at a screen all the time that we're still human beings that need social gatherings that need to be around other heartbeats that needs to be around other souls that we're more than just the lens that we look through and for people watching at home i understand that people have to make different decisions raising i've watched church on on youtube before it's fine it's not an accusation towards them the the point is don't disallow people from doing this that's called liberty so those are the three things it's more than that i mean i could go into socialism on how it's directly against two out of the ten commandments thou shall not covet thou shalt not steal i could go through all of it but those three things are non-negotiables you say you're a christian and yet you want to go vote for a million abortions a year the destruction of gender and a non-essential church those are the three non-negotiables and i could build all of it out even further than that so what do we do about it what are the action steps first and foremost let me tell you this this state is ready for an awakening it really is [Applause] that what you are doing here is going to send shock waves throughout the entire state it really is and lean in on that run for local office take the education of your children seriously and the tyrants are getting nervous and they should be the tyrants have abused their power for too long and people of all different backgrounds are going to be looking at the church to guide them they're going to be looking at the place that communicates truth to guide them and so in your own individual life there are there's three types of people the people that do nothing forget about those people the fighters and the people that help the fighters and the fighters and the people that help the fighters are moral equivalents i mean this not everyone can do what i do i get it armed security protests everywhere i go death threats you name it i live it and i do not play a victim that is not why i'm saying it i i don't even want your sympathy with it it's part of the game it's a promise that jesus made blessed are you persecuted in the name of me and i mean that and i actually believe it but i understand that we have a diversity of ways that people are going to pursue this truth so maybe you're a person you're like boy if anyone found out i was even a little bit supportive of what he said i'd lose my job lose my career i get it then be someone that helps the fighters be someone that is praying active and supportive of the people that are sticking their neck out or maybe someone here is like you know what i've been quiet for long enough i'm in a position of authority i'm a boss i'm a manager i'm a pastor and i am going to start speaking out and i don't care about the cost be one of those two categories but the key is courage courage is hard the best way to tell anyone to do anything is to show people that are doing it like your pastor so people say well what does courage look like that's what courage looks like so i'll close with this i don't wanna i'm like right on time right number one one if you want to help anything that i'm doing or that we are doing and we're traveling the country and barnes throwing the country there's a free of charge way to help us and it might sound silly it's been mentioned on the screens cancellation from big tech companies is one of the biggest threats to what i do and one way to prevent against that is when thousands and thousands of grassroots people go around the tech companies and subscribe to our channels it might sound superfluous but they could digitally assassinate me overnight so every single phone an iphone or an android has a podcast app it's a purple app on the iphone you just press it you type in charlie kirk show and hit subscribe i know it sounds silly and self-promotional but it's very important the more people that do that the more people organically get it and if everyone in this room did that we would beat the new york times in the podcast charts which i would love to be able to do by tomorrow morning but the last thing is this and then i'll i'll hand it off to steve there's a god who made you in his image he wants to get back in a relationship with you he has a way for you to do that through his son a perfect sacrifice i gave my life to jesus many years ago and it's the greatest decision i ever made maybe you're new to the church maybe you've never been here before maybe you just came for politics then i highly and not just highly encourage i plead with you to do that and that's really the why in what we do isn't it and that's the why and what i do god bless you guys thank you so much [Applause] you can be seated for one more moment man i love this man i love this guy i i can tell you right now he's going to be a great friend of mine for the rest of my life i i support what he says the way he articulates it you know guys at this part of our service if you're new i'd ask you just to remain seated just for another few moments we're early and by the way when you see the if the protesters are still out there don't say anything to them don't yell at them don't tell them jesus loves them just just don't give them any attention and because really we don't we don't want to do that but if you're here and you heard charlie kirk say that the greatest decision he's ever made in his life is to ask jesus to be lord of his life the greatest decision i've ever made in my life was when i was younger and i said jesus be lord of my life i didn't even know what that meant because when you ask jesus in your life you have to learn what that means and what it means is lordship either he's lord of all or he's not lord at all it means submitting my will to his will and how do i know its will through the scriptures through the bible i mean charlie kirk to me is so fascinating how he talks about the issues of the day from a biblical point of view and how you and i have been lied to and deceived and god said he will not ever be mocked don't be deceived god will not be mocked whatever a man sows that shall he also reap so if we sow and we we allow to be sown into us deception lies which we have been it was masterful the way he talked about how tyranny or tyrants have to lock us down and keep us away from each other no wonder god said in the word that don't don't neglect the gathering of yourselves together as the habit of some and in that day men and women were being thrown to the lion's den they were being murdered and the writer of hebrews inspired by the holy spirit said man you got to gather together because god knew that this day would happen and he knew that people would be here today that you would be here today he knew that before the foundations of the earth where you'd be sitting on this day at this moment he knows whether you're born again or not he knows you're every rising sure sittings he knows how many the hairs are still numbered on your head i say still because my hair was wavy like see it dude but the truth is he knows everything about you and he still sent jesus and said would you die for them let's make it personal would you die for you you you i mean jesus said would you die for anybody or god said jesus would you die for anybody the murderer the thief the ungodly would you die for them and jesus said i'll die for all of them. it doesn't matter what you've done in life jesus paid a price for that so that you could be forgiven walk with him and be in the family of god and have wisdom wisdom begins with the reverential fear of god that's why the world has no wisdom that's why these people making these decisions have no wisdom and you're here for a reason you've been put on this earth for a reason but you'll never truly know that purpose or reason you'll never truly know what's in you until you let god who created you in your life and then he becomes the potter of your life and you're the clay and he begins to mold and sculpture you to be that person he always designed and knew you could be doesn't mean it's going to be easy because it will be tough we found out how tough it is and our culture to be a christian to be the most persecuted people in all of the land who would ever thought but when you believe in god it gives you a backbone stamina it gives you the courage to say god the worst i can do is take my life and after that what can they do what more can they do to me and if you want true freedom not freedom that's based on circumstances freedom that's based on god sending jesus into this earth to die for you if you want true freedom you are free from sin and guilt and shame all the things that go along with sin fear this is your moment this is the moment of your life the bible says today is the day of salvation not tomorrow what is he saying he's saying this is the best moment for you to get right with god so if you're here whether you're online or in here with every head bowed just for a moment and you say why you want me by my head listen just to honor respect there's no scripture that says you have to bow your head the bible says we have to bow our hearts and our knees but i just think it gives people freedom to to contemplate a quiet moment that the spirit of god can deal with your heart because you can't come to christ unless the spirit of god's tugging on you unless you're drawn by him and here's what i know those of you online and those of you here those of you on other campuses god by his spirits tugging on hearts and minds it's time to get right it's time to be born again it's time that you give me your life so if you're here and you've walked with god and walked away this is your moment to get it right you might say because of the enemy speaking into your thinking that well i've done too much how could god ever forgive me folks that's foolishness you're not saved by your works you're saved by his grace lest any man should boast it's not based on what you've done or what you haven't done it's based on what you do now would you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the lord jesus or if you hear him you've never really given god permission to your life not in a real way so many people say well i prayed that prayer 20 times and the reason you need to pray the 21st time is because the first 20 times you didn't mean it you had no intention of following him getting to know the word coming to church she just wanted insurance that maybe you wouldn't go to hell but god doesn't sell insurance he doesn't sell hell insurance so you don't go to hell what he's presenting you with his life in a relationship with god the father because only through jesus can you have a relationship with god so if that's you in jesus name wherever you're sitting seated wherever you're at online wherever you're at watching this father in jesus name i pray for each one that they would have the courage to yield to you the moral courage to say i need god in my life i need jesus i need a savior i do i need help there's no shame in that god or condemnation but you said you'll give grace to the humble it's just being willing to humble ourselves lay our pride aside just for a moment say god i need you i need something i need you he's the only one that can feel the void that's in our hearts we try to fill it with so many things we try to fill it with money or possessions or hobbies or people even but there's only one place that can fill that void because we're all seeking god through the lusts and desires of this world whether you realize it or not because we're always trying to feel better feel good be happier and god's the only one that can change your life and he didn't promise you happiness but he did promise you fulfillment never last in life too many of the churches preach happiness i just want to be happy god has never said one time in the bible i came to make you happy he said he came to give you life and life more abundantly so if that's you and you say preacher would you pray with me all over this place and online i'm gonna ask you the same thing i'm asking everybody here to do you said this is my moment would you pray with me right now in the powerful name of jesus right where you're seated if you say that's me without any hesitation you see including your prayer preacher i want to know who i'm praying for and i want you to have the courage to say okay what anybody else thinks i want god in my life if that's you right now in jesus name online and in person in jesus holy name right now would you please just lift your hand up all over this place anybody here says include me thank you sir as a thank you sir thank you over here god bless you thank you sir thank you god bless you god bless you god bless you god bless you sir god bless you ma'am just look across the top god bless you sir god bless you god bless you guys right here god bless you god bless you god bless you man god loves people guys you have to know he loves you and he cares for you i'm gonna look across the top one more time anybody else up there says god bless you ma'am god bless you anybody else i'm a look at god bless you anybody else as i look across the top anybody else one more time at the bottom i don't want to leave you out this is between you and god god makes it personal god bless you ma'am god bless you man father in the powerful name of jesus you see all these hands and they represent people that you care for that jesus died for he died for each one so they could have life in their life so they can have a relationship with god himself so father i thank you for blessing them and showing yourself strong on their behalf that they would truly be born again today in jesus name if you lifted your hand or if you're online and you lifted your hand i want you to pray this prayer aloud with me loud enough for your ears to hear your voice i want everybody in here that's right with god in support of those to pray with us and maybe if you didn't lift your hand you pray and you need to pray you pray because i'm leading you to christ only he can save you the church can't save you your parents your grandparents your sister your brother no one can save you only jesus would you pray this prayer with me aloud would you pray father i choose to believe in jesus and i believe he is your son and now according to your word you said if i believe in my heart and confess with my mouth the lord jesus i would be saved so right now i choose to believe in my heart and i willingly confess with my mouth the lord jesus jesus be lord of my life i give you permission to my life you lead and i purpose to follow teach me your ways o god that i would know you in jesus name let's thank god if you would [Applause]
